Man...such a disappointment. Where do I begin? I missed the first band P.S.T. so appy polly loggies to them. I wished I would have missed the next band Panda Blaster. Boy, did they stink. Every song that I heard sounded like Everlong from the Foo Fighters. Real wimpy pseudo-Emo crap. No wonder they had a shitload of teenage girls come out to the Hammer House to check them out. Chick music. Music to cry to. Whatever. I was looking forward to In Control, based on the description Mr. Bobby Franks had told me. Wasn’t quite the way he described it...not even close. In Control got everyone in the place to just go nuts with their Cro-Mags meets Corrosion Of Conformity style of punk rock, and it sure was a sight to see. I was just having fun checking out all the different dance styles everyone was coming up with..."The Chicken Squawk"... "The Pick Up Sticks"... "The Gorilla"... looked like fun. It was sort of like a punk rock dance competition... heh heh. Almost all the chicks left when Panda Blaster’s set was done... the few that stuck around got scared off by In Control’s set...so that by the time Hank Musgrove & The Mother Fucking Maniacs got set up in the Hammer House, only the hard core Vegas scenesters were left to witness yet another chaotic noise laden show from the boys. It was actually sort of a Hank Musgrove & The Mother Fucking Maniacs / The Weirding Way noise-core band, as Keil was on drums and Cheeze was on guitar (even though you couldn’t hear him...booo) . Hank manned the keyboard... Spencer looked cute in his little black dress and panties... and Keil and Cheeze just wailed away and their instruments...heh heh heh. Spencer broke the mike after the second song, so he resorted to screaming into Cheeze’s foot pedals and climbing the rafters of the Hammer House. Very entertaining. They played a short set and called it a night. I just hope that Hank Musgrove & The Mother Fucking Maniacs get to open for Kelly Osbourne at the Huntridge. How sick would that be ? lol
