August 6, 2010: Dick Falcon - Live @ The LVCS
I feel as if some clarification is necessary. It's not that I don't like cover bands, per se, but it's more like, I don't understand why bands would choose to play a cover over their own, much stronger material. And I especially hate it when bands play a cover mid-set. UGGHHH!!! Yeah look, if you're gonna play a cover, do it as your last song, do it as an encore, whatever, but don't do it as a central piece of your set. Kind of lazy in my book, kind of shows a lack of belief in your own material but hey, what do I know, right? Anyways, Dick Falcon are a Local Vegas cover band comprised of some very talented blokes who like to get up on stage and wear ski masks on their faces while playing classic 80's Punk Rock tunes. Is that a bad thing? Not really. They're having fun while doing it and as you can hear on this recording, the audience is right there with them, jumping around and singing along to the 'Hits", which in this case, is Code Blue by T.S.O.L. I tweaked the recording a little bit, but only to make it sound a bit louder and heavier. It is what it is. Enjoy!
