ha ha ha Was Surrounded By Thieves heckling me from the stage??? Those bastards! LOL Yeah, I don't know exactly what they were saying about me on stage, but I'm hoping it was all in jest, because if it wasn't, Ohhhhh, I'm gonna get those guys! ;-) But seriously, I was having too much fun just hanging out with everyone who came out to the gig to either see Aluminum Falcon, The People's Whiskey or Surrounded By Thieves, or to hear me dole out details on what happened between Shawna Lynn and me to really pay much attention to what the band was playing... heh heh Sorry guys. Look, I know you all want me to blast her on here, and just do to her what I did to Athena or Debra, but it's not gonna happen. She isn't even worth the effort, and the fact that her name and reputation are now dog shit in this town, I'd prefer to just leave her as the walking dead piece of shit that she is and let her sleep in the mess that she made of her Life. I'm over it. it's done. It's all Comedy to me. And yeah, that thing that happened with her kid could be considered Karma to those of you who believe in that shit. I don't but whatever. Bad things happen to bad people. Sad but true. What can I say about the gig @ the Motor City Cafe that you probably don't already know? The People's Whiskey just keep on impressing the Hell out of me with their amazing catalog of work, and each set I see them play is different and never boring. They are seriously great and I hope they just keep getting more and more popular here in the City, and that some wise record label swoops them up and gives them a boat load of cash to support their Rock N Roll dreams and wishes. <3 Everybody said that we, Aluminum Falcon, were good, but I don't know what set they were listening to! LOL I never hear anyone else, but I know I kept losing sticks and sucking wind behind the kit, and somebody introducing one of our songs as being about a girl and having her leave you in San Francisco for a dirty squatter punk was not funny, assholes! ha ha ha Everybody had something to say about her, and I heard each and every one of you. Seriously. I wish I could comment on how Surrounded By Thieves sounded, but I was too busy socializing outside with everyone which, according to the band, is where I always end up watching them from. Who knew? LOLThe gig ended early, so we jumped into the Tour Van of Death and headed off to Favorite's, hoping to catch us some Deadhand, Tinglerz or the Black Jetts. We got there long after the bands had finished playing, unfortunately. The Tinglerz were already gone and Deadhand and Roy and Gabe from The Black Jetts were just hanging out in the parking lot. Deadhand had an extremely large butt plug device, pink in color, heavy in weight, among their gear that was sitting on the sidewalk. I wanted badly to ask them why, but I was too scared too... heh heh The Black Jetts didn't even play, because they just lost their bass player Roy, so if any of you bass players out there are looking to join a kick ass Punk Rock And Soul band, please contact the band here or here and be prepared to sell your soul... heh heh We all hung around a bit before calling it a night. Hanging out with your Friends is always fun. It's always a good thing. :-) Yeah, everything is going awesome right now. Minor speed bumps aside, the ride is smooth, the view - beautiful. Everything's updated. Check out the Pictures I took of the Sharp Objects @ Thee Parkside in San Francisco. This is the band I was watching while the ass clown I was with was getting mad at people bumping into her, and then confronting them by saying 'Do you know who I am? Do you know where I come from?' LOL What the Hell was I thinking?? ;-)
Big hugs and kisses to everyone who came out to Amber Watson's memorial get together @ the Bunkhouse last night. More than enough money was raised to cover all the expenses, which just goes to show you how beloved that girl was to people here in town. The place was packed, the mood a bit somber. The band Stereo High did an excellent job playing for everyone, and they sounded pretty good while doing it. I'd check them out again if the circumstances were different. It was good seeing sooooo many people I haven't seen in ages there, but it sucked that we were gathered together for all the wrong reasons. It was what it was, and I was there, and that's pretty much it. It was a great show of Love for someone who was taken away from us at a much, much too early age, and I can only hope that the rumors aren't true. Death. Phooey. The night ended up with a group of us heading off to the Artifice, and since we were in the neighborhood, a private after-hours tour of Cowtown Guitars... LOL Jesse & Roxie's new place is fucking magnificent, and conveniently located next to a gay porno shop full of glory holes and desperate men. I mean, that's what I heard anyways. I would never frequent such an establishment. ;-) ha ha ha Congrats to Cowtown Guitars for their new posh digs. The new place is incredible. I can't see anything but a bright and rosy future ahead of them. <3 And I was pretty drunk last night, but I think I joined Pigasus... LOL Anyways, everything's updated. Aluminum Falcon is playing a gig @ the Motor City Cafe tonight with our good friends Surrounded By Thieves and my 2nd favorite Local band The People's Whiskey, so if you're not going to see The Black Jetts / Deadhand / Tinglerz gig @ Favorites, stop on by and hang out and have a few drinks and socialize. We're going on 2nd, so get there appropriately. It should be a fun time. It usually always is. ;-) See ya there.
If you didn't see it on the way in here, here's the flyer for the Amber Watson benefit gig going on tomorrow night @ the Bunkhouse. Even if you can't stay for the entire event, just stop by for as long as you can and just soak it all in and surround yourself with Friends and maybe remind each other of what we mean in each others Lives, ya know? If you can contribute anything monetarily wise, that's great, but even if you can't, just come out anyways. Grab a PBR tall boy and smile and laugh and remember the good times while listening to some tunes. Amber would of wanted it that way.
Yeah, Singing For You by Deadhand seems appropriate right now. It's comforting to me, and she knows why. <3 Deadhand released an epically AMAZING video today for their song Places, off of their self titled first release, and I can't stop watching it. It's really fucking great, and the meaning of the candy and soda on the bed when they're planning the bombing is driving me nuts!!! ha ha ha Could someone explain it to me please?? Brendan, I'm looking in your direction...
Yeah, if you aren't a fan already, go to the bands Facebook page by clicking here and like them and tell everyone you know about them. You know the drill. :-) The Memorial gathering for Amber Sanchez is happening this Thursday @ the Bunkhouse. Starts around 7-ish. There will be Bands playing and DJ's playing and the night is going to be filled to the gills with Music, in Honor of a girl who was majorly loved in this City. You can check out the Facebook event page for it by clicking here. It's a $5 donation, and all money is going to be given to Amber's mother to help cover funeral costs. All Acoustic acts are encouraged to take to the stage, and even if you can only make it for a few minutes, just be there. Just be there. Give until it hurts and dig deep when you do. Anything and everything you can give monetarily is deeply appreciated. Do it to pay your Respect to someone who deserves at least that. Do it because it's the right thing to do. Just do it. Seriously. See you there.
Amber Sanchez passed away last night in her sleep, and it's set my circle of Friends on their asses. Literally. Stunned isn't even the word for it. It's sooooo fucking shocking. I mean, I know everybody says that bollocks when someone dies young 'Oh, it's such a shock' but gawd damn is this one seriously heartbreaking. She was one of the coolest, most nicest girls ever. I'd always see her at the gigs, she'd always be yelling at me while I was playing drums, and she was just delightful to be around. Always with a drink in her hand and a smile on her face. A real Positive vibe. We weren't the closest of Friends, but I knew her, ya know? I take small consolation in the fact that she died so peacefully, rather, I mourn our loss of someone who had so much to give and offer to everyone. We were definitely robbed on this one, and I hate seeing my Friends so deeply affected by it. It fucking hurts, I know, and this one is going to hurt for a while. If anyone deserves it, it's you Amber. Rest In Peace. You will be forever Loved and Missed. Save us a seat at the bar, OK? </3
Fights at punk rock gigs... how cliche! LOL I had a great time @ the Arts Factory on Sat., checking out bands and scamming out records. Glad to see that the turn out is getting better and better, because the record swap thing is just so much fun. And the Bands! Man! They were great. How sick was Internal Corrosion? Fuck yeah those guys ruled! Playing an Old School Metal sound, ala Show No Mercy era Slayer crossed with Kill 'Em All era Metallica, those guys just fucking killed it, getting the Punks and the Metal heads to stop drinking their tall boys for a second and bang their heads and thrash around in a lovely display of Unity. Internal Corrosion was excellent, and I'd love to see those guys again. Seriously. Go to their Facebook page by clicking here and check them out and Like their page, because that's what it's all about nowadays - being Liked on Facebook. Yeah, and while I'm on the subject, if you haven't already, Like the onethirtyeight.org Facebook page. All you gotta do is click on the button to the right there... OK, now that that shameless plug thing is over, let's get back to the gig! :-) Nests - holy sweaty donkey balls! Where the fuck did these kids come from?? Those kids just fucking shredded it up true Hardcore style, playing some Gang Green / Jerry's Kids style of Punk that just had me standing there with my jaw on the floor at how fucking righteous the shit they were playing sounded. Infuckingcredible. It's too bad that the singer got sucker hit from behind by some douchebag while Vihan Rytmi's insanely noisy set. Those guys were good too! I hope it seriously wasn't their last gig, because they were pretty wicked sick. Painajainen style crusty noise not music, which I only say because it's the name of that bands classic 7". Finnish Hard Core Man - you gotta love it! ;-) Vihan Rytmi. Good stuff. It was cool when Crystal from Ecophagy Records got up on stage and screamed out a few songs. It wasn't cool when that dooshbag East Side Joe's kid sent the singer from Nests flying into the support poles for the overhead metal structure with a blindside low blow tackle from behind. That was a pretty chickenshit thing to do. Oh well. The fights that came afterwords because of it were mildly amusing. ;-) And then Die Laughing brought it all to a close with a lackadaisical set of all 4, 382 songs that they know, in celebration of their just released CD that contains everything the band has ever done. Fucking sweet to say the least. Yeah, it was a bittersweet way to send Bob and Larry on their way to a bigger and better future in L.A., but it was cool that people made the effort to come out and see them off and to celebrate the whole Die Laughing CD release thing. Very cool indeed. I left after the bands were done, stopping off at Artifice to see Deana, and I didn't even say Goodbye to Larry or Bob because I know our paths will cross again somewhere and that we'll see each other again. There is no word for 'Goodbye' in my Native language, there's only the phrase meaning 'Until we meet again', which is 'nya'aamh'. Nya'aamh Larry and Bob - nya'aamh my Friends.
Guess who has their Internet back? Yeah, this guy right here! :-)
I was awoken up at like 4 in the afternoon yesterday by a phone call from Cox cable telling me that they could be by in an hour to establish my Internet service if I was available. And this was just after they had told me on Monday that it wasn't going to be until the 30th that they could fix my wiring or whatever the problem was. Fucking competence exemplified I tells ya! Anyways, the Internet is back on for me, and I got lots of catching up to do. I'm downloading porn at 15 Mbps now!! ha ha ha
Man, I wish this thing was on in time to tell you about that Vermin taping that went down at the Double Clown last night. It was for the pilot episode of Dirk Vermin's reality T.V. show, and I heard it was pretty fun. Can Vegas stand another reality based show? I hope so, because if anything, a T.V. show about Pussykat Tattoo and Dirk Vermin would be entertaining at the least. :-)
Hey - I can tell you about this though - one of the newest bands on the scene here in Vegas is playing their last show tonight @ the Arts Factory. Yeah, Vihan Rytmi has the strange honor of playing their first show and their last show all in the same month! LOL Yeah, another band being affected by the 'Larry B. is moving' thing here in Vegas, which is a shame, because this band is really, really good. Check out the video below to see what you're gonna miss out on if you don't make it down to the Arts Factory tonight.
Yeah, this whole thing with Larry moving out of town is a trip. He's moving to the Southern California area for some gawd forsaken reason... Ugh! He leaves behind quite a legacy, that's for sure. I think that all the bands he's played with or helped out with here in town make up like 40% of the Vegas Music Scene! LOL His Drummer Bob is making the trek with him as well, so I'm sure Die Laughing will continue in one form or another. The gig tonight @ the Arts Factory is their going away party and Die Laughing's CD Release Party, so get yer ass downtown and let's give him a proper sendoff. I'm sure he'll be back in town sometime in the future, but who knows when that will be, ya know? He is certainly going to be missed around here, but you can't help but be happy for him because you know the L.A. scene that he's moving into just got a Hell of a lot cooler, that's for sure. I raise my glass in a toast to you Larry - Big, Big Cheers Brother! All the Best to ya! See ya tonight!
I gotta cut this short, because I just found out via Facebook that Guilty By Association is playing some cancer benefit gig just down the street from my pad at some motorcycle shop on Russell, so I'm gonna go check that out and get my grub on. Neon Reverb is in town, and just doing horribly from what I'm hearing, and I couldn't be happier. It's not tanking and stinking up the joint like the Pastel Project is, but still, I'm glad both of these so-called music festivals are doing shitty, because let's face it, the bands playing these things are shitty. Over-hyped bearded hipster scum playing 70's acoustic pablum to rooms full of scenester sheep. Fuck off with that shit. Seriously.
OK, so who wants to hear a story about a stupid girl who can't handle her booze and pills and who just goes insane and makes a completely retarded ass of herself and in the process pisses away the best thing that will ever happen to her in her miserable, dreary Life? Oh yeah, I've already told you this story before. Moving on... ha ha ha Facebook has become the new Message Board for this website. If you're not on my Friends list, then you don't know what happened and why I'm back in Vegas much sooner than expected. For those of you who are and know what's going on, you gotta admit, it's a great story, right? :-) It's such a great story that the retarded bitch was deleting posts on her Facebook profile trying to save face and act like she wasn't acting like a complete idiot. Again, those of you who read those posts of hers, that was some pretty bizarre shit, right? LOL Oh, it was just like the good ol' days of Hurricane Debra dealing with her. I have never had such a feeling of deja-vu in my Life. Moving on, because I got waaaayyy better things to do.
My Internet is still out. Apparently, when the installer came that day to hook my shit up, I told him to cancel the order and not to install my Internet, which, totally sounds like something I would say, right? The funny part is, I just got a bill from Cox cable for the installation, modem, and first months service! ha ha ha I called them up in a rage and they apologized and said they'd look into what happened and see if they could get a work crew out to my house sometime this week. I fucking HATE Cox cable. Incompetence of the highest magnitude. I feel sorry for those of you who work there.
Updating on the iPhone is hard stuff to do. It sucks writing a lot because you can't see everything you've written and sometimes you lose track to where you were going with something. I got lots to say and post but I can't until I get some damn Internet connection established.
Ha ha ha ha Don't worry, I'm coming back... maybe! ;-)
Still no Internet, still updating from my phone. Oh well. Congrats to Deadhand, The Quitters, and Holding On To Sound for making the trek out to Tejas to play the SXSW schmooze fest. It's cool that Local bands make the commitment to get out there and play. Wish I was in a band that could do that... hint hint
Kick ass gig tomorrow at the Bunkhouse. You should go, because I'm not. Plus, Larry is moving to L.A. in a few weeks, so this is one of the last gigs for Life's Torment and all the other bands he plays in for awhile. Vegas is losing a cool guy with this one, but I'm happy for him moving to L.A. and doing whatever it is he's gonna be doing out there, like putting out records and playing in bands and all that fun stuff. Lucky bastard. Guilty By Association and Unfair Fight are also playing. Support
Today's the day. San Francisco here I come. See you all when I get back. Cheers! :-)
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Marriage? Really? Now THAT'S funny!
I'm not going to the City to get married, but it's funny that everyone thinks that.
It's gonna be rainy and cold the whole time I'm up there, and I'm kind of looking forward to it...
