Well... here it is Tuesday... we haven't practiced these past few days, since Miss Roxie has been sick as of late... I don't think any of the printing has been done for any of the shirts or stickers... I don't think our costumes are complete yet (lots of people are dying to know what we're gonna be for Hella-Ween)... and other than that, it's business as usual for The Loud Pipes! hee hee hee Last nights show at Balcony Lights was killer... lots of cool people, and it's always fun to just hang out with your friends and check out bands. I never did get that Cerveza Mas Fina from Keil... Marco is gonna be a terrorist for Hella-Ween... the Show Review is up and so are some new pix as well... and other than that... I could seriously go postal at any moment. You've been warned. Add Comment Woo Hoo! The Orphans were awesome... The Loud Pipes are ready for the Hella-Ween show... I have no idea where I'm gonna be moving to... and other than that... life is peachy... sort of. The Show Review is up... some cool pictures of The Orphans that I didn't use in the review are up as well... save your $15 and don't go to the haunted house at Lil' Darlin's... I'm torn between going to the show at Balcony Lights on Monday or to cheer Leena on at her work for a $500 prize (what's my cut of that prize anyways?)... and I'll have the Music Reviews I've been working on up sometime this week. The Loud Pipes message board is down... Airbag has been lagging as of late... we're playing The Punk Rock Prom on Nov. 8 @ Balcony Lights... our Shows out of state are coming together... and we're psyched about our recording session coming up. Something great is gonna come out of it... I just know it. I'm not really sure why we ended up drinking at The Cheyenne Saloon last night. Maybe it was because we ended our costume shopping run at Savers... maybe it was because we all had never been there before. In any case, we watched the end of the World Series game and played pool and drank Newcastle's and Jagermeister all by our selves while pumping the juke box full of our eclectic musical tastes... AC/DC... Bauhaus... Johnny Cash... Dead Kennedys... Abba, and Guns 'N' Roses. I'll leave it to you to figure out who listens to what. But we did get our costumes together... had a nice little dinner... and just had a good time hanging out with each other, taking a break from our practice schedule... and just having FUN! OK... so I have no idea of what the fuck happened with my web site. All of my files are there... you could still access it through the Internet... but right after I posted all the new stuff I noticed some mistakes... no biggie, right? But for the life of me I couldn't get Publisher to open any of my old files, which totally pissed me off. So I figured I would just take the gift given to me and just try to re-do the web site from scratch. I'm sure I'll eventually get some of the newer pages up and running, but all the old stuff will be thrown into the fanzine I'm gonna get around to doing someday. And some of the Pictures open up to the larger versions... and some of them don't... and I don't know why. Uhhm... we're going costume shopping tomorrow. Roxie got a new PURPLE bass (woo hoo!) and everything else in my life SUCKS!!! heh heh heh But at least the web site looks good... doesn't it? Busy as a bee...busy as a bee... I've been real busy as of late, what with going to shows and practicing... and then if you factor in that my computer blew up last Friday morning... and that I'm currently looking for some place for me and my dog Kenny to live... it's a wonder that I have time to do anything at all. After Primus I was in no condition to do anything, and as I was posting the Show Review (which can be found here) my computer made a funny sound and then I smelled something burning and then my computer went POOF! Bye! I was fucking pissed! It's like almost 4 years old, and I've had to fix it twice before, so I figured it was time for a new one. I went to Fry's and scooped up a killer HP computer for hella cheap... and it's totally rad! More USB ports... specifically made for use with digital cameras... better video card... DVD burner... so now instead of just downloading CD's, I can totally bootleg DVD's as well! Woo Hoo! God Bless The System! It's Clash videos for all! lol I barely had time to drag it upstairs before I was off to see Internal Affairs @ Skate City (Show Review can be found here). The show was pretty boring, but it was better than sitting round at home. The best part of the night was the birthday party for Von, the new bass player (?) for Jesus, Fuck The Sun afterwords. His lovely girl Stephanie made cookies and there was cake and steaks and burgers and loads of booze for all. What a deal. On the band front, after Jesse's little tirade the other night, The Loud Pipes are now focused on ONCE AGAIN attempting to record, ONCE AGAIN for a planned 7" release. Things have been going really good with Tony, and our songs are getting better and sharper, although we lost Jenny Won't Go, (Tony changed the words...boooo) we gained a Revenge and a Rise Up, and plus some of our older songs now have words and stuff... gee... what a concept. I think we've finally decided on our official band costume, and the commemorative shirt that Roxie designed for the Halloween show is simply amazing. I'm gonna buy like 3 of them myself, just so I can always have one to wear until next year's Halloween show... heh heh heh... it's that cool looking! I think we're gonna pass on the offer from EMI as well... as usual, it's not a very good contract, and I don't think they have our best intentions at heart... go figure. While it's nice to be asked... it's also frustrating. We're so close and yet it's just out of our reach... maybe we should start lying about people being interested in us, like some other bands in town do... hahahahahahaha... maybe then we'll get signed and become Rockstars... lol. Well well well... I've been pretty busy as of late... using my new camera to take pictures of stupid stuff... catching up on my Show Reviews... practicing our Halloween set... and basically just having fun. If this keeps up I may get to reviewing all the new CD's I've been collecting lately! Woo Hoo! Yeah... anyways... since Miss Roxie showed me how to get my pages to load faster, I've been having all sorts of fun posting these new Pictures I've been taking. At least I'm not sick anymore... thank Allah that's over. Oh yeah...we got a contract offer from that Multi-Death Corporation EMI... our rabid staff of Loud Pipes Lawyers are currently reviewing the documents, and if all goes well...we'll be on a Hot Topic compilation in a mall near you! hee hee hee. We got some new merch... the new buttons look great and hopefully we'll have the Special Edition Hella-ween Shirt design finalized sometime soon. Since Rick has been working at The Huntridge, our plans for building a new rehearsal space have been put on the back burner... our tape machines need a professional to look at them... boooooo... and other than that... YES! Our trip to California was fun... except for the fact that Pitt drives like an old Jewish woman! All we did was eat tacos for breakfast, lunch and dinner... read... sleep... eat candy and bullshit. Our Treasure Hunt came up with a beautiful 32 track 1 inch tape machine... which means that now we should be sounding like the Rock And Roll Nightmare that we are! I mean, Ry Cooder recorded on this machine, ya know? He's a stickler for good sounding equipment, so if he likes it, that means it's a good fucking machine! We're gonna be beginning our new rehearsal space project sometime this week... and we're practicing real hard with Tony to get a great sounding set for our Halloween show with Curl Up And Die... and Roxie mentioned another show that The Loud Pipes will be playing at The Troubadour in Hollywood on Dec. 14... should be fun! Oh yeah... in case you didn't notice... I bought a new digital camera the other day! Woo Hoo! This thing is so sick! I take Pictures of everything now... and the quality is simply AMAZING! Click here to see for yourself... that is, if the Pictures are loading up properly... I hate the way my web site / Pictures load up, but I still have no idea how to use DreamWeaver, so until then... I guess you'll all just have to bear with me please.... thank you... and remember... it's all about the PARTY DUUUUUUUDE !!! heh heh heh Wowsers... this being sick stuff sucks. Although I don't place the blame totally on that fact, it still has kept me from updating my web site. I'm fucking buried in CD's to Review... I barely made Katy some Green Day CD's to replace the ones that were stolen from her... I still haven't been getting any sleep... but other than all that bullshit, everything's going great band wise. We're currently working on enlarging our practice space... we're going to California this week to grab some recording stuff... we had a fucking amazing time with The Midnight Evils at the Cooler Lounge on Wednesday... some Show Reviews are up... some aren't... the Pictures are there... Gig Listings updated... and I'm still looking for love in all the wrong places... phooey! I hate all you hookers! Fuck... I hate being sick. I don't mind the vomiting, cold sweats or fevers, but man... I wish I could get some fucking sleep! I've probably gotten about 10 hours of sleep this week, but at least Debra was nice enough to allow me a few hours rest last night, which really helped. I just updated my web site host, and the hosting option I got had a few things that made even Roxie go WOW! So I got some thinking to do, and I can't 'cuz I'm fucking sick... waah waah waaaaaaaaahhh. Somebody call me a Waahmbulance, quick! We got added to a show on this Sunday at The Huntridge, and I don't think a lot of people are gonna be there. And it's not because it has something to do with Rick, but because Poison The Well is playing that same night. Oh well. It should be a fun show regardless. |
