In typical Stupied fashion, there is like 27,843 amazing gigs happening this weekend, starting tomorrow @ the Attic where Ministry Of Love are playing some fundraiser type thingy, so get your ass down there and support a good cause, whatever that is or whatever it is. And Friday, fuuuuuuuck, there is some seriously fantastic gigs happening. It starts off at First Friday with the almighty Pigasus making an All Ages appearance at the Gypsy Den, and then after that it's all about seeing Deadhand at the Arts Factory for another All Ages gig for the kids to go to. While you're downtown make sure to check out the Pee Wee Herman exhibit at Blackbird Studios that makes it's Grand Premier on that night too. Then you gotta be 21 and over to join in the celebration that is going to be going on for the EP release from The People's Whiskey who are, without a doubt, one of the Best Bands gigging around Vegas right now. I think the release is called 4 Tracks And Dub Sacks, but I'm not sure, and the teaser tracks I've heard from it are infuckingcredible. I can't wait to get my hands on this CD, 7", whatever it is, and just blast the shit out of it while I dance around to it in my tighty whities. :-) Yeah, that's how I roll at 4 in the morning.
ha ha ha ha Where have I been? Where have YOU been? LOL All I'm hearing as of late is queries about the website being broken or why I am not updating it and why I'm not talking shit about so and so's website and how come there's no Drama going on here? hee hee hee I mean, seriously? I don't know why any of that is and I really don't care. All I know is I'm Happy and I got way more other important stuff going on right now that I can't be bothered by no jibba-jabba. And for the record, we all know that website sucks, right? Right? ;-) In typical Stupied fashion, there is like 27,843 amazing gigs happening this weekend, starting tomorrow @ the Attic where Ministry Of Love are playing some fundraiser type thingy, so get your ass down there and support a good cause, whatever that is or whatever it is. And Friday, fuuuuuuuck, there is some seriously fantastic gigs happening. In continuing with the Record Release Party them of the weekend, on Saturday it's all about partying with Surrounded By Thieves for their record release show, featuring support from their Friends and Comrades in Battle Born and the Quitters. This show is NOT to be missed and I just hope that they actually pressed this on vinyl, since it says it's a 'record release show'. Yeah, I'm a nit picker like that. ;-) Anyways, the new release is called Prophecies Of Greed and I've played a few gigs as of late with Surrounded By Thieves and I can tell you that the stuff on here sounds phenomenal. They're a really Ace band who deserve all your Love, Support and Money, so pick up their new release and buy the band some booze. You'll get a much better show if you do. ;-) Sunday! Sunndaaay! Sunnndaaaaay! It's all about the fucking Legendary Verbal Abuse burning the Bunkhouse down to the ground in an ugly display of Power and Vulgarity all in the name of Punk Rock. Pretty awesome. Local support is being provided by Unfair Fight and Roid Rage who are apparently the coolest band on the planet, according to Pulsar, who's the Promoter for this thing. How and Why he books shitty, drama filled, gang associated trouble making shithead bands on his gigs is beyond me, but that's probably why I'll stay away from this one, which sucks because I'm a HUGE fan. Apparently, those "bands" sell tickets real easily, so I can understand why those bands get asked to play the good shows, as opposed to bands who actually play good at shows, like, any band that I'm in... LOL Yup! It's gonna be a great weekend of Punk Rock chicanery, so dress warm, drink lots to stay warm, and get off your ass and have some FUN! :-) Add Comment Oh... My... Fucking... GAWD!!! How incredibly amazing was Melt Banana last night? Seriously? Pretty fucking Epic and if you missed this one just go shoot yourself in the face now. YOU FUCKING BLEW IT BIG TIME BUDDY!!! Melt Banana were monumental, and they brought everybody and their Mom out of the woodwork to see this Legendary band from Tokyo perform. Old Punk Rock Legends, Ex-Scenesters, Cool Guys, Dirty Punx, Crusties, tons of Dooshbag Hipsters, Metal Dudes, Stoners, Freaks, Drunks, Foreigners and representatives from every cool band in town came out to watch the band perform. Watching the singer Yako just work the salivating, packed beyond belief Bunkhouse Saloon crowd into a frenzy just by waving her hands was soooooooooo fucking amazing. She sounded incredible, as did the rest of the band. They played my favorite song Mind Thief. I was happy. ;-) I was also happy when they did this melody/barrage of some of their short songs all played back to back, with Yako saying 'Thank You!' in her uber-cute voice in between each and every one of them. I missed the first 2, but caught the last 4. ;-) Yeah, Melt Banana were the shit. You can check out the Pictures I took by clicking here. Life's Torment were really good as well, commandeering a big chunk of the early attendees into become fans of theirs by putting on an intense, in your face display of manic Punk Rock anger that had me grinning from ear to ear. And as for 400 Blows, well, the less said the better. I'm just gonna say that they're aptly named and leave it at that... heh heh. This shit was Epic man, and if you missed it, fuck, I don't even know what to say. Better Luck next time perhaps?? ;-) Yeah, even though I know that Thanksgiving is more about this: Or this: I choose to think about the Holiday more along these lines: Yeah, Football and Turkey and enjoying the company of Friends and Family is what the day is all about to me. I have LOTS to be Thankful for this year, and you do too, whether you know it or not. I hope you have the best day ever, and I urge you to enjoy the moment and take nothing for granted. You just never know sometimes if and when you'll ever be able to savor moments like that again. Happy Thanksgiving. Yeah, the Vegascendents are a heading out to Grandpa Spooky's old haunt of Ventura, CA. this weekend to play the 2nd Annual Nardcore Bowling Tournament, with the highlight being the Dr. Know performance with original singer/guitarist Kyle leading the band, which, is going to be AWESOME!!! I haven't seen that line up of Dr. Know since they played with Battalion Of Saints at Perkins Palace... I think. Doesn't matter. It's been a long, long time since I've seen them and I for one am going to be jazzed to see the original lineup of Dr. Know play. If you're anywhere in the area, make the pilgrimage out to make the gig. Bike, Hike, Walk, Run, Parachute, Kayak, take the Bus whatever! Just get your ass up to Oxnard to partake in the festivities. Just be warned - Metrolink doesn't run up there on the weekends. Don't ask me how I know that. :-) Well, if you're gonna stay in town this weekend, there is a shit load of stuff going on that I would be all over if I was staying in, like this AMAZING gig going on tomorrow night at some place called Pandora's Lounge with Surrounded By Thieves, The Happy Campers, Deadhand and The Dirty Panties. A better sampling of some of the best Bands gigging around in Vegas right now you will not find. It's Issac from The Happy Campers Birthday party, so bring him lots of Sex, Drugs and Rock And Roll Debauchery, because he secretly lives for that type of stuff. I mean, look - Dr. Rockso is on the flyer, which means the white stuff is going to be flying around the place, right? Right? ha ha ha ha Well, I guess if you hang out in the bathroom long enough you can find out for yourself who's holding and who isn't, and maybe in between all that sniffing and snorting you can check out some of the bands that are playing. Maybe. Cocaine is a Hell of a Drug. Saturday night, just forget about that Calabrese gig @ the Bunkhouse - that's just a stabbing waiting to happen. ;-) Instead, check out this super sick line up of noise bringers playing @ Yayo Taco instead: Batillus, Rituals, Demon Lung, Tyrants Of Torment and Arsenik. Man, if that's not a good assemblage of some Doom and Gloom Stoner Metal then I don't know what is! LOL Usually this stuff is pretty hit or miss with me, because a lot of the times I'm usually laughing my ass off at the absolute absurdity of playing songs so slow and heavy, but on the right day, with enough bong hits under my belt, I can definitely get into it. For a sample of what you're in for from Batillus, you can go to the bands website and get their Furnace release for whatever you wanna pay for it by clicking here, but don't be a jerk and pay nothing for it, because that's just a lame thing to do. This should be a good gig, especially with Demon Lung on the bill. Like I said, if I was here in town on Saturday, this is the place I would be at. I figure, if the bands suck, I can always eat some tacos, so it's not a total loss. ;-) And to whomever did that flyer for this gig - Kudos! Saturday - if you're in the Nardcore area - don't forget about this: The Vegascendents have been practicing hard for this one, which means we sit around and drink beer and BBQ dead things while watching Football, Hockey or Sons of Anarchy. Lots of people have been commenting us about being hyped on seeing us play, and I know we ain't gonna disappoint them. Not unless my arm falls off from bowling, or if someone gives me a bottle of tequila again... heh heh Sundays are made for Football, and with the Raiders playing the Vikings, I'm pretty sure that I'll be nursing a hangover on Sunday while watching my team destroy the Minnesota franchise. Yeah, it's gonna be a great weekend! Hope yours is going to be just as much fun as mine is! See ya when I get back! Wish me Luck! ;-) It's Monday. Sad, Sad Monday. :-/ I'm still beaming over how great the Mapes were on Saturday night. Maybe it was my highly intoxicated state of being, or maybe it was because the guys in the band weren't as drunk as they usually are when they play, but damn did those guys sound good. Watching them play in front of an All Ages crowd was the best thing ever! There were a bunch of kids like 5 years old or younger that were loving the costumes the band were wearing, but they hated that it was so LOUD to them! The kids danced around anyways while the band played, and the Mapes called them pussies for doing so. Brilliant. :-) They played pretty much everything I wanted to hear, except for Your Pussy Makes Me Vomit. Bastards. The band opened up with a Civic Minded 5 cover, and I almost walked away in disgust (just kidding) but right after that cover they played Get Let and all was right in the world. They were soooooo good. The Mapes even played a few new songs, including a song that I think was called Delicious (D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! Delicious!) which just gives me hope that the next Mapes release, which should be out by the year 2036, will be just as brilliant as their first self titled release is. Hopefully they get around to recording those songs that didn't make the album too, like Reptilicus, Ding-Dong and Pigs In A Blanket. Oh, and that Mummies cover would be nice too... hint hint. :-) Speaking of releases, I bought a bunch of new releases from Panic Inc. when I was at the Arts Factory for the gig, including the new Sheep On A Cliff release, as well as stuff from Die Laughing, Life's Torment, Lethal Injection, Godstomper and Hot Fuck Action To The Maxxx. The beauty of it all is that they are all on cassette tape. Total Old School Baby! As if Larry couldn't get any cooler than he already is, he releases stuff on CD as well as cassette, and that, among other reasons, is why you should support his label Panic Inc. and everything they release. Everything. Larry's band Sheep On A Cliff played as well on Saturday night, completely shredding up the small wooden stage they were playing on, and playing some of the most broooooootaaaaal face melting Punk Rock imaginable. It was like Dirt crossed with Infest. If only Emma's drum set was in tune, then it would of been fantastic! LOL Sheep On A Cliff raged and rocked and rampaged and the mixed crowd of Punx, Parents and Patrons of the Arts ate it all up. Fun gig @ the Arts Factory. I hope they keep doing them there. Good turnout too. I ended Saturday night drinking at the Goth club going on inside Artifice, hanging out with 3/4's of the Civilians, chatting with Her all night long and watching the Kids dance in the green laser beams in the room across from the bar. Watching Goth Girls dance is one of the best things ever. :-) Cool way to end the night. I had a sick Skater Bob passed out in the back of my car, puking all over the place and claiming he had food poisoning but I suspect it was a semen overdose. If you look closely I swear you can see some undigested cock meat. I went out there periodically to check on him, to make sure he didn't pull a Bon Scott on me, and after making him wait for me while I got my grub on at Felipilito's, I dropped him off just as the sun was coming up, which, as you know, is the magical time when Night turns to Day, and when one's thoughts are at their most coherent and lucid. Take advantage if you're ever there - I always do. OK, I gotta get back to Call Of Duty: MW3, because it's been like 10 minutes since I've played in and I'm jonesing bad! LOL Sorry to Demon Lung for not making their gig with High On Fire - same apology to the Civilians who I was going to watch before going to the Demon Lung / High On Fire gig! heh heh Thank you to Jeff from The Bitters for the CD's - very much appreciated. Thanks to Her for always keeping things interesting. <3 Thanks to the random guy from Russia who contacted me for the Interview about the viability of the Las Vegas Punk Rock Music Scene - I'm pretty positive I will never see it or hear it, but damn was it fun! hahahaha And it hurts to say this but Thank You to the Denver Broncos for beating the Kansas City Chiefs yesterday, leaving the Oakland Raiders in sole possession of 1st place in the AFC West. People, Life is Good!!! :-) New Pictures added, everything's updated, yada yada yada. She's waiting for me, but I'm a long, long way from Home. :-) Today is November 11th, 2011, which means... Yup! Today, everything gets turned up to 11!! Who wants to think about what our War Veterans have done for our Country, let's just bask in the warming ignorance and brilliant stupidity that is Nigel Tufnel of Spinal Tap. He has an armadillo in his trousers and it's really quite frightening. :-) And... speaking of the Veterans, here's the #1 Reason Why Nothing's Getting Done On The Website: Yeah, shit's come to a grinding halt around here, with pretty much all of my free time devoted to playing this. Well, that and going to the Hospital for a bit of an emergency visit. They did give me a bit of unsettling news while I was there, but I'm not putting too much into it right now. P.M.A., right? Right! When I'm not yelling profanities at inanimate objects or throwing up blood for hours on end I'm trying to get stuff up on here, and since I'm usually snookered off my gourd half the time I write this, the occasional mistake or 2 or 7 will pop up on here, and I made a doozy in my last posting concerning that High On Fire gig @ the Beauty Bar this Sunday. It's not Dead Neon that's opening up that gig - it's Demon Lung! Damn that O.G Sour Kush! ha ha ha Anyways, it's Demon Lung who will be rattling the walls of the Beauty bar on Sunday and I'm assured by the Band that they will play NO Black Sabbath covers in their set! LOL They have new songs to play now, and I for one can't wait to hear them. See ya there! And another thing you will see me at is that Mapes gig @ the Arts Factory on Saturday. It's something for the Grand Opening of 3 new stores inside of there, including Lord Baron Von Dong-Dong's new comic book store, HellPop!, and there's a bunch of bands playing, like My First Rodeo, Fredward, The Who's Next, Electric Hessian, The Cowboy Luggage Salesman and Sheep On A Cliff, and it's FREE and it's All Ages, so nobody has an excuse not to be there. Nobody! I'm blowing off the live cast performance of the Rocky Horror Picture Show @ the Sci-Fi Center to see the Mapes, because I can't even think of the last time I saw them, and that's not a good thing. :-( I mean, what else are you gonna do on a Saturday night? Hang out at the Grand Opening of the new Goth Club here in Vegas? ;-) Yeah, apparently Scoundrels has been doing sooooooo good with their little twice a month Goth night that now Artifice is looking into tapping some of that crowd to hang out at their bar downtown, which I personally don't mind. I love hanging out at Goth bars, and I got nothing but Love L-U-V down there at Artifice, so it's a win-win for me! Woo Hoo! And speaking of winning... I think that's all that needs to be said about that... heh heh heh The Raiders are #1 in the AFC West, and I for one couldn't be happier. :-) I'm not gonna be at this gig, but maybe you should be! :-) I only post this flyer because I got nothing but Good Good Things for the critters in the Civilians, so if you're into Kevin Seconds or chicks from L.A. playing crappy covers of some English punk band, then stop by the Bunkhouse on Sunday. Hoist a few pints for me, won't ya mate? Oi! ha ha ha Well, the sun is hiding behind the gray clouds. My buzz is wearing off. It's 7:45 in the morning. I gotta get back to playing video games and watching The Three Amigos. :-) Have a great weekend everyone. I'll be around. Promise! OK, it's not like that there's nothing going on in the Scene, right? ;-) Here's the problem - there's too much going on! I'm completely suckered back into the whole Red Dead Redemption thing, and the new Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 comes out today. As soon as I'm done typing this up I'm heading to Game Stop to grab me a copy, and you probably won't see me for about a month! LOL I'm on one of the luckiest streaks ever with the Females in my Life, and I got this gig with the Vegascendents for some Punk Rock Bowling after party thing in Oxnard (Nardcore!) coming up that has me pretty preoccupied, so with all that going on, I just don't have to urge to see Gigs as much as I should. I missed the Deadhand / TheCore gig this past weekend as well as some house party that the Civilians played on Sunday. Sorry guys. Plus, it's pretty nauseating when Local bands announce that they're 'Playing their 2nd release in it's entirety" like they're fucking Slayer or something. Get a clue Egomaniacs - nobody gives a shit if you play your first, second, third fourth or fifth release in it's entirety because if it was any good, if it really was a Classic release that deserved to be heard in it's entirety, like Rain In Blood or Sailing The Seas Of Cheese or Three Imaginary Boys, you guys WOULD be Slayer at this point in your musical career, but you're not. Sorry. Don't quit your day job. And nobody's impressed that you're opening for the big bands at the Joint either. What did that do for you the last time you opened for that same band? Oh, that's right - NOTHING! Fucking Tools. No wonder whenever I mention that your band is playing a gig people give me that funny look, like they just smelled a dirty diaper full of shit. It all makes sense now... Anyways, like I said, things are coming to a crawl around here because Life is interfering with the website. I'm sure it will come to an end soon but for right now, I'm just gonna enjoy what's going on, living the Life, loving the Dream. :-) Lots of cool gigs coming up - as always, check the Gig Calendar page for the cool gigs happening around town. Fucking Thunderfist is playing the Double Down on Friday, and if it was anywhere else, I would be there front and center, because I fucking LOVE that band, but the Double Down? Fuck that place. Someday I'm gonna go Public with why I don't like that place, and the whole back story of why you shouldn't support such a toilet bowl of a place or the Dooshbag that claims credit for everything that has went on in there. Some of you know the Real story, and others out there try to deny it, like it didn't happen. The funniest are the History Re-Writers. Somewhere, Scott is rolling over in his grave... well, not really. He's probably drunk, sipping on his Scotch and smoking those stinky cigars of his, laughing and carrying on like the cool guy he was, like when HE gave a couple of Punx from L.A. a chance at establishing HIS bar as a viable option for bands to play at, against the better wishes of his partner who said that Bands would never work there, and did his damnedest to make sure they wouldn't. :-) Yeah... someday... Everything is updated. Monster Zero is playing Fri. @ the Motor City Cafe, and go see the Naked City Romeos on Sat. there too because they're all sexy beasts and they play some kick ass Punk Rock music. Buy their CD too if you can - you will NOT be disappointed! And bug Turbo for some free Naked City Romeos stickers too! ;-) Sunday if you got a beard, or if you're an Anglophile, you'll go to to the Kevin Seconds / Cunt Sparrer gig @ the Bunkhouse, or, if you like your guitars LOUD with lots of noodling, you'll be at the High On Fire / Demon Lung gig @ the Bunkhouse. And BTW, that Cunt Sparrer thing is a fucking joke. After that Turbonegra fiasco I watched one time, I'm convinced that chicks just can't play that aggressive, hard Punk music. Nope. If it was a bunch of guys playing crappy Cock Sparrer covers, no one would give a shit, but since it's a bunch of girls playing crappy Cock Sparrer covers, everyone here acts like it's the Second Coming or something. Fucking Tools. As always, it's either there's nothing going on, or there's too much going on, and it looks like Sunday is the day for that to happen. :-) If I can stop playing Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 long enough, or if I'm allowed to by my better halves, I'll see you at the gigs! :-) Needless to say, it was a very good Halloween this year. <3 I really have nothing to say. No wait, let me correct that - I have LOTS to say, but just not enough time to write about it on here. Well, at least not to properly write about it anyways. Homophobia, Racism, Band Drama, House Parties, going to Gigs (even if it's only for a few minutes), and all sorts of shit I can't remember right now even if I wanted to. I'm not even sure that I care to, to be quite honest. It's fucking First Friday, I got shit to do and people to see, it's cold and it's raining, and I'm gone. See you at TheCore CD Release party tomorrow night @ The Bunkhouse. :-) |
