Yeah, I realize the irony in protesting censorship of the Internet by self-censoring myself ON the Internet, but still, pretty funny stuff. It's also funny how the news about the censorship of the Internet movement was spread via the Internet as well. Oh the delicious irony! The fact that some people out there optimistically believe that they have any say in what the Government is or isn't going to do is laughable to me, although this little censorship issue apparently caused 30 Senators and Congressmen to flip-flop on their position on this, so who knows? Maybe the People can have a say in what goes on in their Government? Or maybe this is feeding the masses just enough to keep them from starving. Giving the dog a bone. Whatever. I thought it was interesting. I participated. The End.

Mapes Flyer
Hey! I don't know if you saw the flyer on your way in here, but there is this pretty fun looking gig happening this Friday at the LVCS: Adolescents / Youth Brigade / The Vermin / TheCore It should be interesting, to say the least. I haven't seen either headlining band in a while, so hearing them running through their 'Greatest Hits set seems like a pretty good way to cap off a Friday night. My Friday night is going to start at the Hellpop Record Swap Meet, where I'm gonna have a grip of cash to buy records with, and if I'm not too busy drooling over some pretty colored vinyl, I might check out some of the bands that are playing, which includes Life's Torment, Die Laughing and, of course, The Mapes. <3 There's some new band playing that's composed of members of 1/2 Ast, but those guys don't like me anymore, so phooey to them. Check them out if you're there though.

Speaking of things you should check out if you're so inclined, tonight @ the Double Down Deadhand are playing some AVN kickoff party or some shit. They're playing with some shitty bands that aren't worth mentioning, bands that think that sexual gimmicks and sloppy blow jobs will allow them to 'make it', whatever that means. The sad part is that some of my Friends like them... Jeesh! hahaha Whatever, go check out Deadhand tonight - you will not be disappointed, unless they decide to play some of their shitty acoustic covers they've been doing as of late for that other 'Punk Rock' website here in town. Acoustic guitars are NOT Punk Rock. Neither are beards, for that matter. Get over it already. Seriously.

Thousand Watt Stare
_Oh, Saturday night this band called Thousand Watt Stare is playing at the Bikini Bar. I'm told they're pretty good and that I might like them, but again, they're playing with some shitty band that's not worth supporting and because of that, I'll be staying at home. Man, I wish these people in these bands would just go away. You can't talk shit about people, run away without paying what you owed them, burning all your bridges in this town and then move away and then come back after a few years and just act like everything is OK and all is forgotten and forgiven. Just because you found new people to believe your bullshit doesn't mean that you're the 'Cool Guy' that those ignorant few think you are. Well, it's either that or maybe I'm just an asshole, I dunno... heh heh Bikini Bar is a cool place, and if you got nothing better to do on Saturday then stop by and check out Thousand Watt Stare and tell me how they were. :-)

Sunday! Sunday!! Sunday!!! Old School Metal comes to the House of Boooooo's when Anthrax, Testament and Death Angel tear shit up there. I've seen all 3 of those bands many, many times before and if I'm feeling all nostalgic I may just stop by and see how well they've aged. Anthrax's new album Worship Music is pretty good, so I may go just to hear how new songs like Fight 'Em Till You Can't and The Devil You Know sound live. And, to watch Charlie Benante play drums. <3

Everything is updated. See you around.

I think it was at the point when I was sitting behind my drum kit looking at the crowd that I finally realized it. Looking out into the crowd of familiar fans and friends was surreal enough, but then to look over and see Pitt standing in his familiar position to my right channeling John Cale, just put it all in perspective to me. It was really happening. The O.G. Loud Pipes were about to play again, something that hasn't been done since 2006 at some party @ Grandpa Spooky's bat cave (Click here to see the photos from that night). Yeah, I took a bunch of shit from a lot of people about my presence at the Double Down, but overall I had a good time. It was good seeing you all, I think we played a fantastic set, and hopefully we get together much sooner than 4 years to do it all over again!

"We are all only temporary curators of our present bodies, which will all decay, sooner or later. In a hundred years or so all the humans currently alive will have died. I take great comfort in knowing, with certainty, that thing that makes us special, able to enrich our own lives and those of others, will not cease when our bodies do but will be just starting a new (and hopefully even better) adventure ... "

Peter Christopherson - Throbbing Gristle

Sleazy from Throbbing Gristle passed away last week somewhere in Bangkok. I wasn't that big of a fan but I knew Genius when I saw it. Makes me wish I made the trek to Coachella last year to see them play again. Oh well. I hate when that happens.

And speaking of Death, Leslie Nielsen passed away this past week as well. The movie Airplane! seriously warped my little brain in the 80's, and Leslie Nielson's performance in that flick was a major contributor to that. I loved the Frank Drebin character in the Naked Gun flicks, and who could forget his appearance in Creepshow (I can hold my breath for a loooooooooooongg tiiiiiiiiiimeeeeeeeee... hahahahaha). Yeah, it's a trip when people you grew up watching and loving in the movies gets old and dies. Very strange feeling indeed.

Don't even get me going on what's happening with the Raiders or the Sharks...

Tonight is Bigg's Birthday Bonanza @ Yayo Taco with Die Laughing, B.F.O.M. and Dodsfalla. Come out and wish a cool dude a Happy Birthday, and check out some good bands while you're at it. Tomorrow night @ the Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip is Battle Born, Guilty By Association, Holding On To Sound and some band that should of never gotten back together. ;-) Thursday is Naomi's Birthday Bash with the Apocalyptics, and then Friday there's all sorts of stuff going on, including the Safe Nest benefit @ Area 702 with TheCore and a bunch of other bands, Tatiana's Birthday Party with the Subtimes and a bunch more bands, and then Saturday it's all about 1/2 Ast, The Bitters, The Insect Surfers and The Dickless Bastards @ Ace's And Ales, which, I think, is owned by the guitar player from Alice Cooper's band, if you can believe that! A fun filled week, to say the least. Should be fun.

Long story short - I'm out! Yaaaaaaayy!

Tonight! Go and see the Batusis, featuring Sylvain Sylvain and Cheetah Chrome, playing tonight @ Roxie's 1st Annual Bitchin' Halloween party. Local support is being provided by 1/2 Ast and the Vermin. It's $7 to get in, but absolutely Free if you come dressed up in Mad Max attire, which is the theme for this years party. It sounds like it's going to be a great time. If I had a car I would soooooooooo be there.

Don't forget about the Resistant Culture gig happening @ Yayo Taco tonight as well. Local support is coming from Life's Torment, Blatant, and Eyesore, a new band featuring Senor Adrian, who is an Airbag veterano and ex Third World War roadie. ;-)  I think it's their debut performance, but I'm not sure. Every crusty, wanna-be squatter fuck rich kid slumming in Las Vegas will be in attendance tonight, and I'm sure the smell inside the place will be almost as bad as it was at that Star Fucking Hipsters gig a while back. Bring a clothes pin for your nose and you'll be fine. Avoid the inevitable Drama at all costs. :-)

Lots of stuff going on this weekend, maybe a bit too much, but it's all up on the Gig Calendar page. Plan accordingly. I'm off to celebrate my freedom by watching the sun rise from outside of the CCDC, something I didn't think I'd be doing 24 hours ago.

So I'm talking to a budding prostitute friend of mine the other night, right? She's asking me when I was going to update the website, and I told her that I wanted to, but I really didn't have anything to say. I mean, what was I going to write about? Bashing on the idiotic bands that participated in that Vegas Rocks awards ceremony was too easy, and what I thought to be a huge waste of time. Pay to Play awards show? Weak as fuck. Grovelling for acceptance / recognition from a magazine that doesn't give 2 shits about your band or your music scene? Fuck off! All you bands that attended and were involved with that shit should be ashamed of yourselves. Go play another Anti-Bar Fest in the desert and then play a bar afterwords for your real fans, you bunch of hypocrites you, but I digress. Back to the front line. I had nothing to chat up really, but after waking up this evening and checking out my Facebook page, I suddenly was inspired by what I saw posted on there. With a mouth full of vitriol I now proceed.

The Las Vegas Weekly can suck it. Seriously. I have never been a fan of their glossy piece of shit rag, with it's focus more on the 'beautiful people' who queue up to the Clubs like the sheep that they are to dance the night away while hearing a set of mediocrity being put together by some jack off scenester douche bag with his iPod, and kissing the ass of the advertisers who pay waaaayyy too much money to be included in this weeks crap filled issue, and throw into that mix the fact that they give little to no coverage to any scene or gig that's not happening @ the Beauty Bar or the Palms, well it all just adds up to me giving up on that fluff filled magazine years and years and years ago. 1997 I believe it was. :-)

I can't speak of their coverage of anything else with any air of authority, but I can say this with all the conviction I can muster - their Local music scene coverage is a joke. A sad, pathetic, unfunny joke. The stuff they print is usually regurgitated press releases, sometimes verbatim (I know - I get the same press releases they do), and their, ahem, 'Reviews' of stuff that's happening around town is just as see through and watery as a Coors light piss at 4 in the morning. The initiator of all this piss & vinegar comes after reading this 'Review' of the Las Vegas Shake Down written by one Laura Davis, who, I can only assume after reading her write up on the event, is some retarded scenester chick sniffling and snorting with others of her ilk in the bathroom stalls of the Beauty Bar or the Griffin. Click here to read it. Now the article title is a bit misleading, isn't it? She was there for a few hours of 1 day, not at all 3 days of the event. She shows up 5 hours late for the last day of the festival, talks about the first band she sees (Spindrift - who?) by mentioning nothing about the bands performance, she apparently watches the cock rock singer of the next band (Morlocks - again, who?) talk to the crowd before their set and then again, mentions nothing about the bands performance that night, and then goes over to the Beauty Bar where she mentions that it looks like a Double Down crowd in attendance (a very sad thing to say, in my humble opinion) and she then mentions that the Lower Class Brats are 'tearing the place a new one'. Oh 'em GEE!! That last statement sent me over the freaking edge! The Lower Class Brats, on their best of days, couldn't rip any place a new one. Never. And they aren't even fit to carry the sweaty, shit and piss stained tighty whitey Fruit of the Loom underwear that the Rip Offs may or may not wear. The Rip Offs, a real punk band, not a bunch of douche bags mining that whole 'A Clockwork Orange' thing that most of us grew out of when we got our first pubic hairs. Man, there's nothing I hate more than ignorant, lazy journalism. It just make me go 'Grrrrrrrrrrrr'. Laura Davis, Congratulations! You've inspired me to be a much better coughcoughjournalistcoughcough than I already am, and you've allowed me to vent a bit about your shitty writing and the shitty paper you work for. Thank you very much for that. Stay the fuck away from things in which you know nothing about, like anything Punk Rock related. Now both of you go off somewhere in the desert past Sam Boyd Stadium and die please. Thank you.

In the 'Who Cares?' Dept: Fletcher from Pennywise gets tasered and arrested after getting into a fight with the band Alesana (who?) on the Denver stop of the Warped Tour. Click here to read all about it. As someone who has personally gotten into a brawl with Senor Fletcher, all I can say is that the Cops are lucky it only took 5 tasers to take him down. That dude hits hard as fuck. :-)

Anyways, loads of new stuff added, Gig Calendar page updated, the Black Fag / Left Unattended / 1/2 Ast / Dick Falcon Show Review is up and running (click here to read it), the photos of the Zodiac Killers and the Humpers are posted, and everything is chugging along nicely. I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep the website with this look but for now, I'm digging it! hahaha

OK, I'm coming out of the coma that the Shake Down put me into, and looking back on the Pictures I took and listening to the Recordings I made and suffering through the bumps and the bruises and the black eyes I received, I can honestly say that it was all worth it. Shame a few of you out there missed it, or only bothered to show up on the last day, when everything was winding out, and people were more about Recovering than Rocking. If I hear one more person referring to the Shake Down as a Rockabilly event I may puke. Yeah, some ghey ass Rockabilly bands played, and that fact was definitely more advertised in the papers and the websites more than anything else, but still, Punk Bands ruled the land. Did you see the Humpers? Fucking life affirming. The Clorox Girls? Mind blowing. The Rip Offs? Historical. The Dragons? Rocking like fuck. The Zodiac Killers? Face melting. Add to that the Mau Maus and Flexx Bronco and the Bourbon Saints and you got an ass kicking infusion of Punk Rock and Roll of the highest accord. I mean, look, it's days later and I'm still raving about it. This shit was great! It couldn't of been more fun. A lot of Local faces were definitely missing though. Like Hank. Hank, I hate you. :-)

This weekend has Unfair Fight playing @ the LVCS, a gig that NJ Pete promises will be a sloppy, mistake filled fun time! LOL Sic Waiting and End Reverse are playing too, so come on out Saturday night and count Pete's mistakes. The Over-Under is 10. ;-) Dead Lazlo's Place are playing at the Double Down Sat., and of course, the Ataris @ the Cheyenne Saloon is gonna be pretty fun that night too. Holding On To Sound and Battle Born are @ the Bunkhouse Saturday night as well, so choose wisely. Why are all the gigs happening on Saturday night? Bad planning or what?

Everything is updated. The Squeeze / Beat / Skooners Show Review is up and running, and you can click here to read it if you're so inclined. The 1/2 Ast photos from the LVCS are up, as well as the Black Jetts @ the Brass Lounge pictures too. I saw that Roy found them already, as he shared them on the bands Facebook page, giving me and 'Shitty Bob' credit for them... hee hee hee I wish it would rain already. The humidity is reminding me of FLA., and I'm missing that 'I'm in Miami, BITCH' mentality. Pretty Lady, come and save me! :-)

'Hey! You look pretty good for a guy who was born in the 60's'... hahahahahaha This would of been the best compliment ever if it didn't come from the doorman @ the Beauty Bar after checking my ID. LOL Yeah, it was that kind of a weekend, a lucky weekend, where the dice kept hitting 7's every time I threw them and my cup of Alcohol never seemed to get empty. If you stayed at home, you missed out. I'm not even gonna get into some of the more outlandish bullshit excuses I heard from people on why they weren't attending. Your Loss. Friday night the Rip Offs DESTROYED the LVCS, with a set so full of Punk Rock goodness that the Promoter threatened to pull the plug on the gig like, at least 5 times, on account of the Hatred and Abuse being thrown at the band in various ways, shapes and forms, from alcohol being spit directly on the band from the people in front against the barriers, to people just spitting mouthfuls of snot on them from every direction imaginable, and there were people throwing handfuls of change at the stage just hoping to hit something or someone, anyone, and, of course, full glass beer bottles being thrown with sniper like accuracy. Same with tall boy PBR's and plastic water bottles. There were more than a few Justin  Bieber moments during the set! hahaha Gawd damn if I tell you I haven't seen anything like that since the good ol' days of Punk Rock back in the 80's. It very well could of been the Germs up on the LVCS stage, that's how Epic this gig was, and the fact that some people stayed away and didn't attend due to, ahem, various bullshit reasons, well, that just makes me laugh. You missed out on a good one. Oh man did you ever. This video footage, taken by a man who is just as Smart as he is Handsome, Joe 1/2 Ast, gives you an idea of just how majestic this gig was. It was like being @ the Wet Stop again! hahahahaha
Yeah, it was that kind of night. The Zeros did an AMAZING job of following up on the mayhem and Chaos that the Rip Offs had created by counteracting it all with some fucking Glorious pop songs that put a lot of the stuff that the Ramones did to shame. Musical Bliss and Heaven, it was. I bought a record and lost it somewhere. You're welcome to whoever found it, ya bastards!

Saturday found me waking up, baking up, showering up, grubbing up and drinking up @ the Beauty Bar for Round 2 of the Shake Down. Friday night it was all about Guinness and Patron, Saturday night it was about Jameson's and pharmaceuticals by the handful. It seemed like a good idea at the time, and in the end I'm glad I did because although the Dragons were Godhead, the Humpers were Godslayers, and my body bore much of the brunt of the battle, as I was front and center on the front line of the War between Band and Audience. "Gilbert, it is time to destroy the Beauty Bar", Jesse Jerk told me, and I could think of no better band to destroy this place to than the Humpers. The Perfect Soundtrack For Chaos and Destruction. They fucking KILLED IT! They laid waste to the place, and strutted among the ruins afterwords, pitying the survivors, and Proud of their accomplishments, like the drunken Hooligans that they are. The Humpers played one of the best sets I've ever seen any band play in my whole miserable existence on this Earth. Ever. Wow. Just fucking Wow! I couldn't even watch the Mau Maus  afterwords because I felt ashamed to be alive after what I had just witnessed. I believe it's called Survivor's Guilt. I had it bad, so I situated myself on the corner of the bar where Deana took care of me with King Kong sized cups of Jameson's on the rocks until I was shit faced enough to drive home. Lucky. All weekend long. I couldn't make it to Sunday nights events, on account of my legs not working, my back not moving, and my bruises very much hurting. I wouldn't of gone anywhere near the Beauty Bar, where some bands I wanted nothing to do with were playing, but I think I missed out on some Cake and Whiskey @ the LVCS for Kate's Birthday party happening there. Oh well. I came home Broke, Beaten and Hungover. I think that means I had fun! LOL It was worth everything I put into it. The Shake Down was a fantastic fun time. If you missed it kill yourself now. Show Reviews forthcoming.

A band called Forth Yeer are playing @ Yayo Taco tonight, and if you are encouraged to attend. Xtal says they're pretty good, and she's got great musical taste, although I am worried about her new band. ;-) There's a gig happening tomorrow with Life's Torment and Short Attention Span @ the Redstone House, and on the same day @ Stonewalls you got Caravels and Rooftops. I won't be at any of those gigs, but there's no reason why you shouldn't be. I don't think I'll be going to any gigs for awhile. I just saw the Humpers. Who else is even gonna move me enough to make the effort to see them play? What band is even gonna come close to doing what the Humpers did @ the Beauty Bar on Saturday night? Like I said, the Dragons were good, but the Humpers were better. Much better.

The Pictures of the Rip Offs are up. I put the rush on them, since it's so easy now to put photos up on the website, figuring that more than a few people would be interested. Click here to see them. I like my Pictures. They're funky and soulful. Sometimes it's not about the clarity of the picture, but more like what the picture conveys about an event or time or feeling. Sometimes. Anyways, I gotta get some sleep. I think I'm going to a BBQ party with the Lower Class Brats later on today, but I'm not sure. I just hope they don't ask me what I think of their band... hee hee hee

Every picture tells a story, don't it? Reviewing all the snap shots I took Fri. of the Black Fag gig had me in stitches, because not one of the photos are clear - they're all blurry, fuzzy and out of focus. That's because I was having too much FUN! Jumping around, headbanging, yelling and screaming along to everything coming through the PA was just too much for me to do AND take pictures at the same time, but I know that Senor Jesse The Super High Tech Photographer got some AMAZING shots (as usual) of Black Fag in action and all I can say is Wowsers. My Blue Moon infused brain remembers them being most excellent, to say the least. Black Fag were sooooooooooo fucking good. Was that DH Peligro on drums for them? I swear to Gawd I think it was. hahaha Whoever it was, his drumming was Top Notch, and definitely put the band over the top with his playing of the songs in a most proper manner. The chick bass player was sick. Cute too. The guitar player was OK, making up for his few mistakes with over the top enthusiasm. It's hard to rock out when you're a big guy wearing a sundress. Believe me I know. Liberace Morris was in fab-u-lous form that evening, looking splendid and orally riffing on anything and everything within his view, and giving it all back as good as he got it, like when he said 'Hey Dick Falcon - This is how it's done', and then the band launched into Jealous Again, which Dick Falcon had played earlier. I'm not sorry to say that Black Fag does it better... heh heh heh. There's just something about hearing classic Black Flag tunes played in a most disturbing homosexual way that just gets me each and every time. I cannot stress enough how much fun this gig was. I saw so many people there that I hadn't seen in years. I mean, the Airbag crew was in attendance, and those guys never come out to ANYTHING en masse, unless it's something really uber-geeky cool, so it was good seeing them all again after all these years. Lots of good friends, both old and new, all the bands (except Left Standing) sounded great, and my recording of 1/2 Ast came out SUH-WEET!! What's with all those new songs they played? When's that new album coming out, dammit? hahahaha Oh what a night! Thanks to all of you for hanging out with me. Drunken silly pictures will be forthcoming.

All that jumping around @ Black Fag had me in traction the next day, and that's partly why I missed Ainjil's little shindig happening @ LVCS (Sorry). I think she's mad at me and I don't blame her. Again, sorry. I heard it was fun though, if that means anything. Anyways, I've got lots of work to catch up on, so I'm gonna hit the ground running. Look for lots of stuff to be added and go live this week. I posted the photos of The Beat @ The Crown Theater (click here to see them), as well as the photos of Dick Falcon @ the LVCS (click here to see those). Anyone know who that guy in the wheelchair was? He was a cool guy. I talked to him for a bit earlier @ the bar. if you see him tell him I says What's Up! :-) Glad to hear all the positive feedback from everyone about the new look for the website. It is very much appreciated. This is the calm before the storm, as the Shakedown is coming up this weekend. The New Bomb Turks and Tex And The Horseheads are NOT playing, but that's OK. The line up of bands that are still playing kills. This shits gonna be Epic people. You do not wanna miss out on this.

If you're in any way, shape or form supporting or participating in that Vegas Rocks Best Of Awards Show, then you are truly, truly, a lame ass. Pay To Play awards shows? Gimme a fucking break. Making the bands buy tickets to an awards show that they're supposedly nominated in is just beyond pathetic. The 2 idiots responsible for that ghey ass lame magazine should just go fuck themselves in the ass while lying to each other about how they used to be cool back in the 1980's. Fucking assholes. What do they know about the Punk Scene here in Vegas, and why do you bands who are nominated in any category give a shit about what that magazine thinks of you. Why would you seek approval from the audience of ghey ass poseurs who read and support that magazine? Weak guys. Really, totally, weaksauce. If only that magazine would close, like Wasted Space just announced they are going to, then the Scene here would be a better place to play and support. Maybe. Anyways, everything's updated. Lots of new old stuff added. Browse around, comment, look, read, listen. Enjoy!

I don't see it yet but it should of happened by now. The slightly New and Improved onethirtyeight.org. I like it! The website is soooooooooo much easier to maintain / work with now, and it's a bit more personal, with the easy to work Photo Galleries and the ability to Search for stuff now, and comment on things more directly. Oh, and having a spell check now is a god send! The inspiration for the overhaul came from 'The Killaaah', aka Kathy, Punk Rock Goddess extraordinaire, when she posted something on Facebook about making a website with this thing called a Weebly, and she included a Link to whatever a Weebly was. So I'm a curious sod, and I clicked on the Link and started mucking about with it and damn, if it wasn't pretty easy to work with. Much easier than the few others I had tried working with, that's for sure! LOL After thinking about it for a second I said 'fuck it' and committed to getting everything transferred over to the new server. I've been jonesing on this project for hours straight now. I'm looking forward to getting anything and everything I can up here, and I have The Killlaaah to thank for it, so Thank You Kathy, for the nudge in the right direction, even if it was a bit inadvertent. The end result is the same - the website looks neato! Thanks Kathy! XOXO

Black Fag, Dick Falcon, 1/2 Ast and Left Unattended this Friday. The Ghost Stories & Monsters Art Show and After Party, featuring Jack Grisham And The Westcoast Dukes and Pigasus, on Saturday. All 3 events happening @ the LVCS. I might as well just sleep there all weekend. It's gonna be a good time. :-)

What happened to the website? I have no idea. I was working on it for hours yesterday without a clue as to what to look for, even dragging George into the fracas to try to help me get a handle on where things went wrong, but we couldn't figure it out. I sent out emails and help tickets to everyone I could think of, hoping for an answer to my query. Right as I was about to pass out this morning, I was chatting with Ben False Cause on Myspace, and he happened to mention that the website was up and needed to be updated. I was dumbfounded but happy. The website is up, I have no idea how, so enjoy it while it lasts, because it just may go down at any time again... hee hee hee.

Union 13 show was siiiiiiiiiick. Great turnout, no drama, just good times and circle pits for all. Thanks to everyone who came out and thanks to everyone for making it the event that it was. The Show Review will be up later. I'm still waiting for those pictures Liz Crumpet took of Infestshit... hint hint.

1/2 Ast is still the Greatest Band to ever come out of this wretched city. Las Vegas' # 1 Party Band, Makers of Mischief, Purveyors of Punkitude, and really nice guys to boot. Brent and John apparently feel that I don't praise them enough on here, so hopefully that will appease them for a little while, perhaps long enough for them to record those new songs they've been playing in their set lately.

Lots more to say, lots of stuff to add to the website, but for right now I gotta go do stuff. Hopefully by the time I get back I will be tired enough to sleep, pass out, whatever.

Weird Scenes Inside The Gold Mine...

Am I going crazy? The answer is yes.

I find it harder to write as of late, knowing what I want to say, and what I'm eventually going to say, are two completely different entities. What started out as some sort of fanboy fanzine about a scene that I had just moved into (Vegas had a lot more websites dedicated to it's music scene than it does now... *sigh*), and as a way to let my friends and family back home in CA. know what I'm up to here in Vegas, has morphed into this be all/end all source of what's going on or what's "cool" here in town and the #1 place to talk shit, and as the best source ever for local Las Vegas band drama. I find it harder to put out what I really want to say, having to censor myself or shape thoughts and images into interesting views for public consumption. I could give two shits less about what anybody thinks, and I think I've strayed from that for a bit. Not really, but you get my point hopefully. Weird people read these words. I'm not sure why. But from now on, I'm just gonna put it out there, make it more blog-like, trying to post something everyday and put into hard forms what's basically going on in Tag Board and Myspace land. I think that's what people come here for, something to read. Why not give it to them? I think the writers block is over. so let's make the most of it. The video game distraction is gone. I'm seeing things a lot clearer now than ever before. 2007 is one-quarter of the way over. I got way too much stuff to do, and too many people to do it with. I'm hoping this works. It's a good plan anyways. Best of intentions and all that. Wish me luck.

I'm still not sure what's going on with Last Shot Tattoo. I heard it was canceling all shows after some fighting or bullshit that went down @ Friday's 1/2 Ast / False Cause / S.S. Hookers (thanx Sal !) gig. A few bands here in town say no shows are cancelled, a few bands say shows are cancelled. I don't care one way or the other. I would of done the good reporter thing and just called down there and asked what's up myself, or dropped them a line on their Myspace page (which can be found here), but I'm a lazy sod. so I didn't. Hope things work out for the place. I won't go there unless I have to, but lots of kids do go there, so it does serve a purpose... somewhat.

Is everyone through with picking on The Objex / Joe Perv ? Have we given him enough Haterade to fuel his monster faces for another year ? Hope so. Let them play The Rainbow and The Slanted Clam to the coked out underage bar scene they so desperately want to be a part of (Maulus Clothing... ugh !) and be happy.

I did this thing on Myspace yesterday where I highlighted a band that had requested to be my friend on there. If you're on my Friend's List you got the bulletin. That band was Leroy, and you can click here to see what him and his band are all about. Don't know why I did it, but I'm hoping to do it more.

Idle Gossip page has been updated, as well as the Links page. Calendar page is updated daily, and I'm working on an idea for turning the Downloads page into this Vegas based band history kind of thing, highlighting demos and obscure stuff from long forgotten heroes of old. I have a shitload of demos, and I'm sure I could get my hands on a lot more. All you old guys with shoe boxes full of long forgotten demo tapes get a hold of me pronto. I'm really thinking I'm gonna do it.

What's happening with Infestshit ? Good question. I have no idea. I could speculate, but I won't. Those kids got enough problems as it is... hahhahaha. Just kidding. I love them all. And me and George have been working with a guitarist as of late who has passed the rigorous standards we have presented every guitar player with, that is, the ability to count to 4 and the ability to show up to practice on time. Justin does both very well, and has a job and his own equipment. You'd be surprised at how many guitar players here in town have no equipment to call their own, heh heh heh. In other words, he's an anomaly as far as the world of guitarists are concerned. Hee hee hee Look for demo stuff coming very very soon. You have been warned.
