Agent Orange
Just to address a few of the rumors I've been hearing about myself lately:

  1. I don't care what that picture supposedly shows. That could be anybody's ass in that picture.
  2. I can assure you that the kitty cat was totally of legal age, and that her resemblance to Kim Kardashian was nothing more than coincidental at best.
  3. The blood bag had no identifying marks on it, thus, it could of been anybody's fluid in that sack.
  4. The staph infection in my right leg might cost me my foot, not my Life.

Yeah, the putrid, festering bloody wound on my right leg was apparently something that required immediate medical attention, what with me being a diabetic with high blood pressure and all. I neglected it, as I am want to do with a lot of things medical, and despite being in a horrific amount of pain, still managed to play some incredibly mediocre sets of music to a few lucky people in attendance at the aforementioned gigs. The less said about last Fri.'s gig @ Favorite's the better. American Buckshot played to a room full of nothing and no one, because everyone cleared out and went home right after Agent Orange played, pretty much like I knew they would. The sound of the crickets in between songs was deafening, and we played like shit because of it. At least that's what I'm blaming it on anyways. ;-) I guess the moral of the story is to NEVER play after the headlining band, no matter how much your singer tells you it's going to be great and how packed it's going to be. And what was up with that drunken idiot who was racing around, burning out and spinning doughnuts in the parking lot of Favorite's in that tricked out Pontiac or whatever it was, almost crashing into cars while doing so, and who attracted the attention of every limp dick cop within a 3 mile radius, and who then tried to hide out inside the bar... Idiot! I hope they arrested him. Anyone know what happened with that?

Screaming Images
Sat. my leg was fucking killing me. Playing the gig the night before didn't help, and plus my ongoing battle with the flu had me on the losing end of things once again. I had to play this grand opening of a place called Screaming Images, which I only found out hours before was in Hendertucky, and I had to play it in a Vegascendents set, which, according to my account, the band hadn't practiced playing in over 263 days or so, but I doped myself up pretty good by downing half a bottle of DayQuil and a handful of pain killers and managed to stumble my way through a set that people seemed to enjoy. Thanks to everyone for coming out to that and helping themselves to all that free food and drink, ya bastards! lol After playing that set, my band mates were sooooo concerned for my general welfare and the festering wound oozing sickness on my leg that they thought it would be a good idea to play another set somewhere else, basically barnstorming our way onto a bill we had no business being on. We tried Favorite's, but for some reason we didn't play there. Instead, we ventured down the street a bit to play at the Double Clown with Geezus Cryst & Free Beer. At least that's what I was told anyways. I was listening to them from in the van, where I was mentally getting ready to play the gig and cursing my band mates for putting me in this predicament. If better prepared, I could of done it, but as it was, under prepared and sans drugs and medication, I was dead meat in the water. Dead. Fucking. Meat. So after playing, both Jeremy and Bob convinced me to go to the E.R. which, in hindsight, probably saved my life. The Dr.'s said if I had waited another 24 hours or so I probably would of died. Scary stuff, right?

The thing that would of killed me was a staph infection, a hideous staph infection, according to the Nurse who first saw me. They admitted me immediately and spent the next few days pumping me full of antibiotics and morphine, which just reminded me of why I love heroin so much... LOL Right now I'm in the middle of a battery of tests to determine how much damage has been done to my leg. If the infection has gone to the bone, then I'm gonna be losing my foot and about to become the world's first peg leg drummer. ;-) Anyone that knows me knows that I'm all about that PMA, so I remain forever optimistic that everything's going to be fine and that I'll be kicking ass with both feet attached for many years to come now. The final prognosis comes down on Friday. It sucks getting old. It really does.

Everything is updated. The photos of Unfair Fight playing @ Artifice can be seen by clicking here. The big Squid Hat Records showcase is going down this weekend, but I'll be nowhere near the Double Clown when it does, but Good Luck to everyone that's playing or involved with it. If my sources are correct, the 2 bands to be the next to be signed have already been chosen, so I'm curious to see who comes out victorious in this weekends events. If that's not your thing you could always go see CH3 play at the LVCS on Sat. If I'm able to that's where I'm going to be. Keep your fingers (and toes) crossed! PMA all the way!

I got this a few days ago, and I can't stop laughing about the absurdity of the wording. I know press releases are nothing but hot air and hype, but whoever wrote this one is a fucking Shakespeare! LOL
This year, we are very excited to announce our initial lineup for the 15th Annual Punk Rock Bowling and Music Festival which will feature one of the first full performances of none other than the godfathers of west coast punk rock themselves! Taking their cue from the black flag of anarchy, let us present Flag. Long may they wave. Featuring original members Keith Morris (vocals), Chuck Dukowski (bass), Bill Stevenson (drums 1981-1985) along with SST label mate and Descendents guitarist Stephen Egerton (guitar) performing the music of Black Flag. Morris (whose post-Black Flag career includes fronting the Circle Jerks and, most recently, hardcore revivalists Off!), Dukowski (who, after exiting Black Flag in 1983, founded SWA, Würm, United Gang Members, October Faction, and, his current outfit, the Chuck Dukowski Sextet), Stevenson, and Egerton decided to extend the legacy, working up a repertoire of 30 classic Black Flag songs with an eye toward future live performances.

Taking their cue from the black flag of anarchy, they’re calling themselves Flag. Long may they wave.
hee hee hee That "black flag of anarchy" line is forever going to crack me up. Anyways, again, for those of you who think you're finally going to see Black Flag play live, I love to burst your bubble by telling you that you're not. What you're gonna see is a band called Flag, who are a Black Flag cover band, and they're headlining Punk Rock Posing this year. You all should be so proud! ;-) But don't worry! If you can't make it out to the fleecing, just wait until the fleecing comes to you! They're gonna play other gigs in other places. You think they'd learn 30 Black Flag songs if they weren't? ;-)

And since they were mentioned in the press release, why isn't Off! playing? Are they not Punk enough? They're basically Black Flag part 2, right? And why isn't Greg Ginn's new band (with skateboarder Mike Vallely on vocals) Good For You playing? I'm sure they're going to try to sound very Black Flag like, and they got a new album coming out next month. And why isn't the Chuck Dukowski Sextet playing? They're basically My War era Black Flag with a chick on vocals. Well, I guess the answer is that nobody gives a shit about the present; only content to roll in the nostalgia of the past like pigs in shit. How sad. All these new bands carrying on the Black Flag legacy, and they couldn't get booked to play Punk Rock Posing if their life depended on it, but yet Old Man Markley and shitty bands like that play every year. Pathetic.

Speaking of pathetic, you can come out to Favorite's tomorrow night and watch a band I play in, American Buckshot, play mop up to a bunch of other bands, including Agent Orange and Surrounded By Thieves. According to Dean, loads of people are going to hang around after the headliners are done performing, and I, of course, say that we're going to be playing to an empty room, so come on out if you can and see which one of us is right! LOL And on Sat. the Vegascendents are playing some private party somewhere with open bar and free food. This could be interesting... ;-) Everything is updated. Have a great weekend.

Shit. In all my spazzing out about Madness I forgot to mention the gheyness of the club shows for Punk Rock Bowling that were just announced last Sunday. How silly of me! Well, where to start? Hmmm... Youth Brigade reunion of all 3 original Stern Bros., ehhhh. Whatever. Last time I saw a reunion of all 3 Stern Bros. it was a drunken mess. Dr. Know reunion with Kyle - that just happened in Ventura a few months ago. Municipal Waste just friggin' played here, same with Agent Orange and the English Beat, and the rest of the bands play here all the time, like the Dwarves or the Adolescents. Good Riddance is cool, but opening up for No Use For A Name? GHEY That line up should definitely be reversed. Union 13, cool, same with the Aggrolites but again, nothing to brag about really. The club shows are just as lame as the big shows, and the scheduling of it all is terrible. You're gonna have to commit to one gig per night really, as trying to bounce from place to place is gonna be a logistical nightmare. Choose wisely and good luck. Unlike a few other jealous assholes that I know, I'm happy that a few Local bands made some of the opening spots. Congratulations to the Vermin, the Seriouslys and the Civilians for representing Vegas in all of this. No offense to you all, but I'm not gonna go see any of the gigs you're playing during PRB weekend. I'd just rather see you when you play your regular gigs here in town when there's a lot less drunken assholes and Poseurs around... heh

Hey! Do you have a beard? Do you think Punk music sounds good played through acoustic guitars? Well, if you answered 'Yes' to both of those questions, then do I have a show for you to attend - it's the Punks In Vegas 1 Year Anniversary party being held at Alternate Reality Comics on Maryland / Flamingo tomorrow night. A collection of Local Singer / Songwriters, not quite as rocking as Jim Croce, but a little more rocking than John Denver will be there pulling at your heartstrings with tales of Woe and Love Lost and being unaccepted by Society. Bring your hankies and make sure to Congratulate the bearded clan of Punks In Vegas for doing a job well done and making it for a year. May your next year be just as fruitful as this one was. Cheers! And buy some comics while you're there, you cheap bastards!
Band practice as of late has been killing me, but it's coming along nicely. Everything is updated, and everything is great here in Las Vegas. Ya know, I think the reason why something as lame as Punk Rock Bowling thrives here is because all these Tools and Sheep that come here by the plane full and car load are coming here for that Vegas thing, that thing of Debauchery and Drunkenness. It's kind of a cliche, but it's also very true to a certain extent. Those of us that live here get to do the Vegas thing 24-7, for 365 days a year. We're Professionals at this shit! LOL This town is our town.  It is so glamorous. I bet you'd live here if you could and be one of us... ;-) Punk Rock Bowling... fuck off.

Where the Fuck have I been? Where the FUCK have YOU been? hahaha This time, it wasn't killing Zombies that have kept me at bay, but it was a damn cold! Go figure! Apparently, it hit Vegas pretty hard, with a lot of people I know either getting slowed up by it or completely shut down because of it, so I think I'm in good company. Good to catch it now and get it out of the way, right? Now I can get back to the website, catching up on all the shit I've been lagging on. At least that's my excuse. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Anyways, all sorts of things going on here, with lots of good gigs happening and some coming up that potentially look interesting. I was hyped on tonight's gig @ the Divebar with the Queers, but after hearing about what happened there last Friday at the Agent Orange gig and then on Sat. with the D.I. gig, I think I'll be staying home. Drama and Drunken Fools Fighting just bores me to tears. Nice to know nothing changes there, despite what they're telling people, huh? What? You didn't know Agent Orange and D.I. played @ the Divebar this past weekend? Yeah, neither did a lot of people apparently. Promoters, Bars, Clubs, whatever, try getting the info out to people and, surprise surprise!, people might show up to the gigs. A strange concept I know. And BTW, Myspace is dead. If you're posting show flyers and gig information through that fucked up beyond belief vehicle, don't forget to post the same info on Friendster too. Having been on Myspace for over 6 years now, it's been a long strange trip watching them fuck themselves up into the unworkable mediocrity spam filled machine that it currently is. Promoters - get a Facebook page. Everyone you know is on there, and if you wanna entice people to get out and check out some of the bands you have playing your venue, that's the way to do it. That, and maybe send me the info beforehand, so I can put it on my Gig Calendar page and let all 9 people who read this website know what's coming up and what's going on. Yup.

Happy Birthday Talitha!! XOXOXO times a zillion!! Me wuv you! <3

Pitt is coming to town for Thanksgiving. Just to grub with his family, and not to play a surprise reunion gig @ the Double Down with the Loud Pipes this weekend. Remember, you did NOT hear that from me. ;-) Pek was spinning through the channels and saw Jesse on Pawn Stars last night, fixing up some old Gibson ukulele that some shnook brought in. Pek's daughter seemed hyped that she had been playing and hanging out at a 'TV Star's" house. LOL Kids. You gotta love 'em. Me, I don't even hang out with Jesse in his "TV Star" house as much as I do Gibson, his precious beautiful baby boy. I just hang with him on the couch drinking Slurpees and watching football. Between watching him and watching Tony running around with Jesse's other boys playing football in the street, I'm fully entertained every Sunday afternoon. Yeah, that Tony. Grandpa Spooky. The Prince of Pinche Darkness. He came back from the South healthy and vibrant. Weird. It was a bit unsettling at first, but now I'm used to it. Tony's outlived his usefulness as mine and Jesse's Raiders good luck charm though, the bastard. After our drubbing by Pittsburgh yesterday, I'm convinced our good luck well has run dry. Looks like we'll have to rely on our backup rookie Receiver and backup Pollack Quarterback to get us that wild card spot in the playoffs. hee hee hee I've been catching up on my Hockey watching as of late, and man, the Sharks look wobbly as fuck this year. Inconsistent play and a giant clusterfuck at the Goalie position has them looking real, real bad. **sigh** Oh well. It's early, right? It's gonna be an interesting Season, that's for sure.

Yeah, I know. Who cares, right? You wanna hear about the Drama! The trip to California. Upper deckers. Garage parties. Breaking shit. The whole Jack and Pigasus thing. Hank's party. The Flexx Bronco / Last Night's Heroes gig. What happened @ the Divebar. What happened at the Beauty Bar. Brookelyn finally leaving Las Vegas and her talking shit on Facebook about people and band mates she left behind. All of that stuff, right? Well too bad. I got better things to do, and I'm gonna get to doing them right now. Everything is updated. Yada yada yada.

Seriously - how sick was that Nails gig last night? That band was fucking mind blowing, face melting, life affirming, and any other superlative infused adjective sentence that you can think of. Definitely a highlight of the year and if you missed out on it, well, too fucking bad for you. This shit was legendary, and brought everyone and their mother out to the gig. It would of been perfect if it wasn't for the douche bag tuff girl hardcore dancing that was going on. The room just fills up with gheyness when the stupied xHaRdCoReX kids start doing that shit. It's almost embarrassing at this point when it happens. Much like Rockasilly, I can't wait until it just dies and goes away. I don't know the names of any of the bands that were opening the gig, but one of them was some new band with Andres and Cheeze, who used to be in Weirding Way and Vulcans, and was pretty fucking brutal, in a very good way. The bass players pedal or cabinet or both blew up like 3 or 4 songs in, so it was a short but sweet set from them but man, was it fucking good. The night was filled with drama, Drama DRAMA, with both guys and girls getting into fights with each other, and the Ecophagy Records blow up with Crystal, Big Red and some other chick was pretty fun to be in the middle of. A night full of Drama and none of it had anything to do with me! LOL Such a rarity indeed! Great night @ Yayo Taco. Write up coming soon - Hank, where were you at fucker???

It figures that my car decides to take a shit AGAIN today, on the eve of the Punk Rock Weekend going on @ Area 702 skate park, kicking off tonight with the Agent Orange / 7 Outs gig I was going to go to. I went to band practice instead. Sat. I was going to go to a very Special wedding of 2 very dear friends, but that doesn't look like it's going to happen for me. Sorry. After the wedding I was heading over to the LVCS to catch Raw Power rip shit up, but it looks like I'm missing out on that too. Fucking bad timing or what? The Punk Rock weekend had Angry Samoans and CH3 on Sun., but I wasn't even planning on that. I feel sorry for CH3, because the Angry Samoans suck sooooooooo badly now that it's gotta be an embarrassment to gig with them, like it's an embarrassment to gig with certain Local bands nowadays. Funny how the 2 lamest ones to be on those bills were suddenly gone off of them, if they were ever on them at all. It's over Johnny - it's over. Deal with it.

Yeah, lots of things going on, so take advantage. New bands gigging around, Old bands playing that may never be seen in these parts ever again. This is no time to be stuck at home with a defective fuel pump, so get off your ass and see some live music. There's no better way to spend the weekend.

Hey! Through the magic of the Internet I just found out that the Apocalyptics are playing @ the Double Down tonight with the Shakes and Season Of The Nightmare. Go out and support a great band that deserves it, in a place that I wouldn't be caught dead in... heh heh

I just added a shitload of upcoming gigs to the Gig Calendar page, stuff like, oh, I dunno, Youth Brigade, Zeke, Dead Kennedys, Misfits, Voodoo Glow Skulls (now moved to the Beauty Bar... UGH!), Fu Manchu, the Adicks, CH3, the Pixies, Agent Orange, Angry Samoans, D.I., that American Carnage Tour with Slayer / Anthrax / Megadeth (siiiiiiiiiick) and lots and lots of Local gigs too. Check it out and plan accordingly. Interesting things are a brewing, that's for sure. ;-)

The beauty of re-publishing everything to these new servers is re-reading some of the earlier stuff and going, WTF was I thinking? LOL It's also a fun trip down memory lane filled with good times and good friends, some of them still with us, and some of them not. It's funny how Life takes us in the directions it does. When I read those early Idle Gossip postings and Show Reviews that I did, I utterly failed at transcribing what a great feeling it all was, hanging out with your friends, doing stuff together, the camaraderie, the fun times, all of that. I wish I would of written more. I wish I would of went into great detail about everything I saw, was involved with, whatever. Failed opportunities. Whatever. All the early Idle Gossip postings are up. Just go under the Archives heading down and to the left of this posting and click on a month / year and voila! You're magically taken to that page! Isn't technology wonderful? Read them if you are so inclined. The first Show Review I ever did for this website was for the Dirty Babies / The Loud Pipes / Hank Musgrove & The Mother Fucking Maniacs / Back And To The Left @ The Skillet Cafe, and you can click here to read that one. There's nothing written about the Loud Pipes in it, because I wasn't yet comfortable giving comment on our performances. Boy, did that quickly change. :-) The next 2 Show Reviews happened back to back on my Birthday weekend, and those were the Circle Jerks / G.B.H. / Toxic Narcotic / The Daycare Swindlers @ The Huntridge Theater gig (which you can read by clicking here) and the Agent Orange / Ill Repute / Hollywood Hate / The Bad Samaritans / Lust / Thunderfist @ The Cooler Lounge gig, which might have been for an early incantation of Punk Rock Bowling, but I'm not sure. Click here to read that one. They're short, nothing like the Raga's I post now. ;-) Last but not least, the Show Review of the Hank Musgrove & The Mother Fucking Maniacs / In Control / Panda Blaster / P.S.T. @ The Hammer House gig, which you can read by clicking here. Ahhhh memories, you gotta love them.

I'm also finding and re-formatting all sorts of old pictures, some of which I found on the Internet, because I lost the originals years and years ago! Working with the new website format is just a dream to post photos with. You can add captions to them as well, which I find really neat. Read my smart alack remarks while browsing the pictures! LOL First ones to get the new treatment were the Pictures of Ainjil's Birthday Party @ Last Chance Tattoo. Click here to check them out. Anything involving Booze, Cake and Silly String is something I have to be a part of! LOL More photos will be given the treatment soon. I'm jazzed on doing stuff for the website again. :-)

I got this from Jason of the Mapes, who posted it on his Facebook page. As if you needed more of a reason to attend First Friday, right? LOL If you're going you might wanna check this out.

Drink enough free beer and you too can fly just like these guys!!
Free beer tasting! 25 cent comic books! Guess where I'll be before the Black Fag gig? LOL The Mapes are playing Boomer's the same night, and I wish I could be there, but... well, you know. :-) It sucks that I have to make a choice, but I've been in contact with Black Fag's singer Liberace Morris himself, who tells me that he won't even take the stage if he doesn't see me front and center with my camera in my hand, so, it's like, I gotta be there! LOL The Mapes will play again somewhere soon (I hope), and I will see them then, because I'm badly in need of a Mapes fix, but who knows when, or even if,  Black Fag will come back to Vegas? LOL This could be the performance that permanently bans them from ever playing our city again. See ya there!

a fab-u-lous time is guaranteed, daaahhrlink!

Fucking ten million things going on at once, so let me just spit some thoughts at you as they come to me, OK? The Agent Orange - D.I. Show Review is up... click here to read that. Some more Pictures of both bands, as well as some pix of Anti-Flag are posted on this page here. The Loud Pipes have a plan to FINALLY finish the recording session and to at least have an official demo available to you all for our upcoming shows with By Death's Design in Arizona and the Supersuckers show at the Boston and the Sub/Hum/Ans show at the Huntridge, which nobody in charge over there seems to know anything about. But the show is listed on the Sub/Hum/Ans web site, so I guess it's a go. It's been days later and I still can't believe how terribly boring that Yaphet Kotto show was at Balcony Lights... you Airbag kids need to re-define the terms "amazing live band" and "mind blowing show"... heh heh heh. The Loud Pipes Club House is officially closing real soon... and I'm not quite sure why, but oh well. We're all going to some invite-only show tonight with Social Distortion and The Missing 23rd @ The Beach, and I know that it's gonna be FUN! Chicks in bikinis! Woo Hoo!
