Shellac... Wowsers. I just got done posting up all the photos I took (which you can see by clicking here), and I was just reminded of what an Epic performance it was. It's funny that everybody and their Mom asked me about it, but not a lot of people I know went. Me, Jeff from the Bitters, Catasco, Louie The Letch, Jack from Pigasus & Pamela, Brent from the Underground, and that was pretty much it. The rest of the audience was made up of trendy fucks and really old Hipsters, like, people who were the Hip Young ones back in 1992. LOL It was like the Downtown Dooshbag Scene were just there because it was an event, something they heard was Cool but knew nothing about. Disgusting, but oh well. I had a blast, which is all that matters. So yeah, check the Pictures out, and if you like the new layout, or even if you don't, you have Ashley to thank for that, because I totally stole the idea from her! LOL Ashley is a very close Friend of mine and she has her own website for her amazing photography work (www.ashleychance.com) and I'm on there all the time checking out what she's up to and what she's shot lately. She's got 'The Eye', something that all great Photographers have, and I'm very jealous of her Talent and I try to steal from her every chance I get... hahaha Anyways, check her website out and if you need any sort of photographic work done, hit her up about it and she'll shoot it for you on the cheap. Real Photography is an Art, and she is truly an Artist. Support man, Support. :-)

I was gonna do a Show Review of the Shellac gig, but I didn't do anything to remember it afterwords, like write it down or tape some notes like I usually do, because I had to skedaddle to Cali immediately afterwords, and after everything that went down there, the Shellac gig seems like eons ago and almost inconsequential. Almost I said. :-) Yeah, California was a trip. I spent my time just wandering around my old Home town and just... reminiscing. Running into Old and Dear Friends, remembering how things once were and then seeing how things are is quite humbling, to say the least. I hadn't been back to Whittier proper in 20 years... Wowsers. I can't let that happen again. I had a great time while I was there. I ate and went everywhere I could. Saw a couple of cool bands (The Backdoor Preachers and Civil Disgust). Missed out on seeing Face To Face and Walk Proud @ Alex's in Long Beach because I was having too much fun in Whittier and couldn't tear myself away from it. Sorry to mis Hermanos in Walk Proud. Why is it every time I'm out of state fucking Face To Face is playing? LOL gawd my trip was such fun. I think I'm gonna post some Pictures on here of it all... maybe.

Hey! Guess what? I have a gig I'm playing this Sat.! Woo Hoo! 2 weekends in a row. This could set a bad precedent... heh heh. Aluminum Falcon will be ripping it up with some other cool as fuck Punk bands of all shapes and sizes and you should start your Halloween festivities off that night by grubbing on some tacos and watching us play. I'll be the guy behind the sexy orange drum man sized drum set - what I'll be wearing this year is up to you to come out and see. I'll tell you one thing though - it ain't gonna be no Star Wars costume! LOL Ya know, now that I think about it, The Captain never gave me those Pictures he took of us last year playing in costume @ the LVCS. Booooooooooooooo to him.
It's Halloween, which means that it's also the end of October. I got waaaayyyy too much going on to even focus on writing down what's been going on in my head as of late. I'm on such a high right now that I don't ever wanna come down, and if things work out, maybe I won't have to. Gifts from the North are in transit and I eagerly await their delivery. Long may the Crow fly. Forever may the Wolf howl. See you on Saturday. Wear a costume.

:-)

Fuck the Warped Tour. Seriously. I'm glad that Battle Born is playing it and all that, but gawd damn is that shitty lineup some of the WORST bands I've ever heard of in my Life. It's no wonder that only dooshbag chicks, ghey ass scene kids, and Hank! are hyped about it happening today... hahaha That was a joke. Sarcasm. Not meant to be taken seriously. I'm talking to you Pulsar and Jarrett...

After band practice I usually grab Mr. Wizard and look to veg out / chillax in front of my big ass computer monitor on anything but music, like reading about the differences between serial killers and mass murderers or watching videos on YouTube about how to make ebelskivers. In any case, I always find cool stuff out there, like this teaser about the new Jesus Lizard Club DVD that's coming out in Aug.
Seeing David Yow work the crowd gives me the shivers. That dude is psychotic and frightening. I cannot wait to get my paws on that DVD. Jesus Lizard is one of the greatest bands I ever saw live. Seeing them destroy this seedy little dive bar called the Shamrock in Hollywood on a Thursday night is something I will never forget. It was scarier than anything I ever saw GG Allin do, that's for damn sure. Saw them at Club Lingerie, Raji's, the Palladium... what the Hell was I thinking back then? LOL Oh, to be Young and Stupid again...

Speaking of bands I saw a lot back in the Daze, Jane's Addiction have a new album coming out pretty soon that I'm hyped about, especially after seeing the video of them performing in Brazil or some crappy place like that, debuting songs off their upcoming release down there. Well, one of the songs they played, End To The Lies, is the first single off the new album called The Great Escape Artist, and this is the official video for it. Do you remember when videos used to be watched on T.V., and not on the Internet? Yeah, me too... womp womp womp womp. Cue the sad trombone! hahaha

Yeah, I'm always gonna have a soft spot in my heart for those guys, just like I'm always gonna have a soft spot in my heart for puppets, explosions, fire, cartoony violence and face shredding Metal, and all of those can be found in this Mastodon video from the Adult Swim channel for an unreleased song called Deathbound. Why on there? I don't know. All I know is that it's a great song and I love watching this video... heh heh heh
And what does all of this have to do with Las Vegas or Punk Rock? Well, the answer is, NOTHING! hahahaha Except for a few Birthdays that happened these past few days (Happy Birthday Bob! Happy Birthday Patty Cakes! Happy Birthday Ainjil! <3), it's been a pretty quiet week. Band practice is killing me and I could care less. I'm getting comfortable with the loss of movement I'm gradually building up. ;-) 4th of July weekend is here, and besides this awesome Wedding party gig with the Loud Pipes / The Southside Gashers / The Unidentified on Sat. @ Yayo Taco, there's other stuff going on as well.

I just hope there will be CAKE!! <3
You also have this pre-gig happening on Saturday afternoon with the Happy Campers and Surrounded By Thieves, going on right before the Face To Face / Strung Out gig @ the HOB. I saw this exact same Face To Face / Strung Out gig in Seattle when I was just there, and was bored to tears. Don't ask why I was there... heh heh

Sunday will be recovery day, and Monday is the 4th! What's everyone doing? Is the Annual Swenson Street 4th of July Party going down? Anybody know? Let me know if it is. I'll be at Casa Amoroso drinking fluids, charring dead flesh and blowing stuff up, and hopefully not choking on my own vomit in the front seat of my car like I almost did a while back! hahaha Have a great weekend! Good Luck to Guilty By Association on their upcoming Tour! Same with Holding On To Sound! Knock 'em dead guys!
