Toilet
if it isn't one thing it's another. I can't seem to catch a break! LOL If it's not one piddly ass piss ant thing after another, ya know?

I came Home after an incredible Saturday night out with Friends and Family, starting off with Mike's Surprise Birthday Party get together @ P.T's Pub, and then the White Kaps / Glue Gun gig @ Favorites, and I took lots of photos of both events. I uploaded them to the portable hard drive connected to my computer when I got the chance, and then I passed out happy and content. I awoke the next afternoon and began to start editing them to post them up on Facebook and shit and my computer isn't reading the device. I can't access the pictures. Strange. I start and restart the computer, but it still doesn't read the hard drive. I try using a different USB port, I try starting/restarting the portable hard drive itself, I switch out the cords, try it in Safe mode, nothing works. I am fucking screwed. All my Pictures were on there - ALL of them. Years worth. Like I said, if it's not one thing it's another... phooey!

Ditch Dust BBQ
I'm not letting it get to me though - nope! I know there's a way to salvage everything that's on there (I hope!), and I had too much fun hanging out and making the scene these past few days to let it deter me at this particular moment. Nope! There's too much going on to be Positive about, like this Ditch Dust BBQ thing happening this weekend - click here to check out the Facebook page with all the info. It's being brought to you by Blue Tile Lounge Presents, Let It Roll Skateboarding, ODCFX.com and Double Down Radio. Oh, and the Hawaiian Hot Dog people are going to be there as well, just in case you get the munchies or something. ;-) It's all going down in Boulder City this Sat afternoon, and it's being hosted by Brian Brannon of J.F.A., who are playing later that night at the LVCS with Guilty By Association, IDFI, American Buckshot, G.F.I. from Slam Diego who, if you haven't seen them play before, are fanfuckingtastic, and Mersa, who are pretty good themselves. Yeah, it's gonna be a fun filled, long and busy day on Sat., and if you're not doing anything else, you should consider hanging out. The skate thing is free, and it's only $5 to get into the gig later that night. That's some pretty cheap entertainment right there. Probably cost you more for gas and beer than anything else. Wait - did I say 'probably'? I meant to say 'definitely'. ;-)

Everything is updated. Loads of new stuff posted and available for your perusal - stuff like the Gig Review Dean did for the Vegascendents gig @ the Double Clown a few weeks ago, and you can click here to check that out. And speaking of Gig Reviews, Senor Karl Bakla did one for the Rapewhistle / Fuck The Facts / Gods America / Nests gig @ Favorites that went down a few weeks ago, and you can click here to read that one. I also posted some Pictures of the Tinglerz playing @ the LVCS (click here to check them out) and Soto St. playing @ the Double Clown - click here to check those out. I also had a new posting in the Tunes section on a Legendary Las Vegas Hardcore band called O.T. Factor for their 2nd release called Legends, but I found that the band had released the stuff on their old Myspace page, so I 86'd it. I really knew nothing about the band, and I still don't, but they do have a Facebook page, so click here to check out what they're up to now, and click here to go to the bands Myspace page to see what they were up to back then, and to listen to the Legends release, as well as some other songs from another release of theirs. Again, good stuff.

I guess if creating a dialog amongst the Locals was the aspiration, then this Squid Hat Records showcase thing has done it's job! LOL Loads of people are talking about it, everyone's got an opinion as to who the 6 bands to be chosen are, but the majority of them don't wanna go on record as to which bands they think should play, for fear of offending their 'Friends' for whatever reason. Cowards... hahaha So, with that in mind, I presented some Local people in the know about the music scene here in Las fucking Vegas this question:

If a Record Label rep were to ask you to recommend 6 Local bands to consider him to check out to sign to their label, who would you name off? Any genre.

The answers were interesting in bands named and bands not named. After reading the answers, and conversing with the individuals who came up with them, I even more so wanted to attach names to lists, but I told them I wouldn't, and if anything, I am a man of my word, so I won't, because being anonymous behind your words on the Internet is the cool thing to do nowadays, and nobody wants to cause Drama or Trouble or Controversy on the Internet, right? Yeah right... hahaha Anyways, here's the lists people turned in. I got some free D.I. tickets for their gig next week @ the LVCS to the first 5 people who can guess who's list is who. Possible suspects include a Writer, a Drug Mule, a Shit Talker, a Bassist, a Judge of Musical Talent, another Bassist and a Curmudgeon. First come, first served gets the tickets - post your guesses in the comments and make sure you leave a way for me to get a hold of you in case your guess is correct. I'll give you a hint - one of the lists is fake... heh heh

Tony's B-Day flyer
OK, well, since I have to go to American Buckshot band practice in like 5 minutes, because of my insecure band mates arriving early, and a bratty, oversexed girl that keeps me up all night (literally and figuratively), I gotta cut this short. Before I go I wanna remind you of this amazeballs gig happening mañana at the Sand Dollar (not the Bikini Bar) for Tony Batz, aka Grandpa Spooky, aka the Prince of pinche Darkness. He's ancient even for a Vampire and tomorrow night is when we're all gathering together to play a gig and hopefully have some cake and ice cream for him but yeah, I doubt it! LOL I'm just hoping the Hawaiian Hot Dog Lady (or, as Rusty refers to her as, his future wife) is there so I can get my grub on after I play my set. And yeah, I know there's something called 'Thrashgiving' going on at the Bunkhouse with D.R.I. headlining, but looking at the bands opening it up, I'm almost willing to bet that not one of them plays real 'Thrash', ala Napalm Death or Cryptic Slaughter or some shit. Matter of fact, there's 2 loser bands playing that gig that shouldn't be allowed to play anywhere, period! ha ha ha Fucking shit talking losers - crawl off to the desert and die like the diseased rats that you are, and quit polluting our Music Scene with your Drama and Bullshit. Fucking tweekers, I swear. I hate them. Anyways, tomorrow night, you can come to a great Local show with some cool bands playing, or you could go stand around outside and wait to see a band who's long past their prime, playing with some bands you shouldn't support in any way, shape or form. The choice is yours. See you at the Sand Dollar. :-)

Retox
So it's Thursday, right? Lots of stuff going on tonight, like that Jimmy Cliff gig @ the Hard Rock with openers One Pin Short. $35 is a bit stiff for Mr. Cliff, so I'm staying away from this gig, although the set I saw him play @ Coachella was nothing short of brilliant. I hope he makes it back to Vegas sometime soon and doesn't pull a Dick Dale on us. On the other side of the spectrum there's this crazy Punk gig happening at the Bunkhouse tonight, with Nests, Retox, Clinging To The Trees Of A Forest Fire and God's America AKA The Seeds Of Rape. I don't know anything about any of the bands playing, except for Nests, who are one of the coolest bands I've seen in a while and definitely worth the price of admission alone, and, of course, Retox, who play some short and sweet bursts of some harsh, unsettling, Sci-Fi sounding Hardcore math rock that's pretty damn good. They're not the Locust, but much better. If you don't believe me you can just check out the band's latest video for their song Thirty Cents Shy Of A Quarter. If I didn't already have plans with my Family for tonight I would definitely be at this gig. Hell, I still may try to get my ass down there hopefully before the last band is finished. It's gonna be intense! :-) Fucking Retox and Nests. Wow!

Author & Punisher
Tomorrow night it's all about Primus @ the Joint. Fishbone is opening. Do I need to explain to you how amazing Primus is? I seriously hope not. I heart Primus. Like there's anywhere else I'm gonna be that night. :-) But, if you don't feel like paying $35 to see those 2 amazing bands, there is a heavier, less expensive gig for you to attend - 2 of them, actually. The first one is this sick gig with Demon Lung, Dead Neon, Author & Punisher and Black Elk, which is sure to shatter your eardrums and get you banging your head while being overwhelmed by the heaviness of all the bands playing. I'm sure they're gonna be asking for donations for the touring bands at the door, so if you're on some sort of budget or are even a bit of a cheap bastard, then you could go see the Seriouslys, the Gashers and Stagnetti's Cock at the Motor City Cafe. I don't think any bands will be asking for money at that gig. I think both the Seriouslys and the Gashers have new albums coming out sometime soon, so this is gonna be a good chance to hear some of their new songs before everyone else does. I don't know a thing about Stagnetti's Cock, but they may have a new album coming out soon too, so who knows? LOL Friday night is definitely not a night to be staying in and playing World of Warcraft or some shit like that. Friday night is the night to get off your ass and Support Live Music!

Three Chord Radio
And Saturday... well, if you're not at Hank's Beaumont Bunker Presents An Unfocused Rowdy Party Dog Production: Summer Time Pool Bash!, (click here to read all about that event) which is going to be nothing short of incredible, then I guess you could come out to see the Vegascendents play with Three Chord Radio out in Hendertucky if you're feeling brave. Yeah, I know it's in Hendertucky, and yeah, I know it's at the Gold Mine Tavern, but still, I hear that it's a cool place to hang out at, and someone told me that Three Chord Radio are pretty good, so yeah, I'm looking forward to this little gig on Sat. Of course, I'm not driving out there, because I'm not stupid, but my Lawyer says he might show up there, so if I get in trouble, he's gonna be a short distance away! LOL I can't wait to see him show me how he used to slam in the mosh pit like he did at some Pearl Jam Lollapalooza performance zillions of years ago... ha ha ha Fun is where you make it, so I'm looking forward to having some fun on Sat. If it's a good night, I'll make it home and sleep in my own bed. If it's a great night, I'll either end up in jail or at some $6 a night mobile home motel on Boulder Highway! ;-) Everything is updated. Looks like it's going to be an interesting weekend... Hopefully!

I think the website is going to have to come with a disclaimer, so that any future band mates of mine can be given fair warning about what I do and what I'm about, and so they can save face when it comes to public scrutiny or kowtowing to the Punk Rock powers that be... heh

W A R N I N G

The Assessments and Viewpoints of www.onethirtyeight.org are the expressed written opinions of GE 138, and do NOT in any way, shape or form, express, share or even agree to the same sentiments with any past, present or future band members that GE 138 may find himself involved with at any given time. Any misconstruement of any and all postulations presented by GE 138 that are found on this website is utterly laughable and a sign of mental underdevelopment and micro penisism.
Yeah, my so called Friends and Band Mates have a very interesting slant on things, that's for sure. Apparently, saving face with the PRB Gods that Be and being able to partake and be fleeced in next years gathering of the Sheep is more important to them than I realized, so I did them the favor of quitting every and all bands associated with them. Now they can play PRB and have their precious Bowling teams without worry of being blacklisted because of their association with me. Do you hear that jackass fans of the PRB Facebook page? You won! Yaaaaayyy! Now go back to your PC dick sucking and find something else to bully people about. Believe me, I've got better things to do and I definitely don't need this shit, especially from people I'm in a band with. My critique of anything and everything associated with PRB next year is going to be 10 times worse than it was this year, so I did them the favor and cut myself out of their musical careers, cut myself out like a cancer. Now they can frolic guilt free with others of their ilk and be Proud and Happy to be a part of the Herd. Baaaaaaaaaaaaaa. So yeah, I'm only down to being in 2 bands now - anyone need a non-PC, racist homophobic punk rock drummer with a very unpopular opinion? :-)
Heartless Flyer
There's this Punk Rock gig happening tomorrow night at Yayo Taco with Punk Rock bands who aren't concerned about being blacklisted by the Stern Bros. in CA. or with being able to play PRB next year or with even being able to pay the $500 entrance fee to bowl next year, bands that I've never seen play before, bands with names like Heartless, Dead In The Dirt and Gods Rape..., so I'm gonna head down there and check them out because that's what I do. I'm compelled to do so. I prefer seeing bands in small intimate venues like this because if and when they finally make it big and are playing the big festivals like PRB in front of hundreds, maybe even thousands of Punk Rock Sheep, that I can loudly and proudly proclaim how I saw them way back then and how they were better then than they are now, and I can take my rightful place on the outside of everything and throw rocks at those sheep on the inside of the pen. Didn't we learn anything from the cover of Minor Threat's second LP? Out Of Step - with the world. :-) I did! That's me. I not only heard the Music and the Message, but I listened as well.

OK. I've gotta get ready for band practice with a band that doesn't have a problem with anything I say or do, a band called American Buckshot that believes in Freedom of Speech and the 1st Amendment and all it stands for. I'm gonna post our Demo we recorded back in 2010 (I think) on the Tunes page this week so you can all get hyped on what we're gonna be playing. We're coming back stronger than ever. :-) Oh, and the discussion between the 2 members of Public Humiliation on their entry I put up was priceless. I'm not sure if they were serious about it, but it sure was funny! hee hee hee Yeah, my website affects people in the strangest ways. Who knew one guys opinion held such merit? Certainly not me! Fools! LOL

My Disease has been getting the best of me these past few days, and I'm kind of worried. It's not stopping me from getting things done and manning up to my responsibilities, but still, I'm starting to worry about the cost of what it's doing to me physically. Very strange indeed.

Hey - there is a good gig happening tonight @ the Royal Resort, featuring Local misanthropes Deadhand, playing with Punk Rock's musical version of Don Rickles The Vermin, and also on the bill are the noisy sludge masters Dead Neon. There's another band playing the gig that I'm not mentioning because they have a member of their band who's a little weasel faced liar that I want nothing to do with. God forgives, I don't. I would post the flyer for the gig on here, but I didn't wanna go through the effort to edit that bands name off of the flyer like I usually do, but seriously, it's gonna be a cool gig tonight @ the Royal Resort. If that band wasn't playing I'd be there front and center.

A gig I can post a flyer about is this one tonight @ Boomer's. Guttural Secrete is playing, along with The Genocide Architect (back from the dead and leaving Las Vegas apparently), God's America AKA Seeds Of Rape, and that's about all I can read off of that flyer! LOL Whatever happened to the concept of WANTING people to be able to read who's playing on a flyer? I guess that's as antiquated a notion as bands actually getting off their asses and promoting their gigs... heh heh That flyer might as well be in Klingon for as elitist as it is. ;-) And BTW, that God's America AKA Seeds Of Rape has got to be one of the stupidest band names I have ever heard of. I think someone from Jesus Fuck The Sun has something to do with that band, which would explain a lot. Anyone remember that band? Good. Believe me - you didn't miss out on a thing.
Hopefully I'm feeling good enough to make the trek out to Silverton to see Don Carlos play at the Sway Pool on Saturday. The Man is a Reggae Legend! Don't believe me? Watch this video I took at Reggae In The Desert 2011 directly below all this BS. Him opening up was a bit of a travesty, but whatever. I loved it and I'm hoping he's just as good when he plays on Sat. I also hope I'm not surrounded by drunk Indian girls hooting and hollering like I was last time too... heh heh
Well, I gotta go to band practice - of course. Then bowling. Then maybe a social life if I'm lucky. ;-) I added the Pictures I took of The Fact Remains and Surrounded By Thieves up to the website, and you can click here and here to check those out if you haven't already. It's gonna be a cool weekend - assuming I live through it of course. :-)
