I now have exactly 13 Fat Dukes Of Fuck MP3's in my iTunes collection. I don't know what I've done to deserve such an Honor, but somehow this musical gift was bestowed upon me via snail mail, and I cannot stress strongly enough how grateful I am to have them. Thank you very much Brent. :-) A Review of the new album, Honey From The Lips Of An Angel, will be forthcoming post haste. All I can say for right now is just Wowsers and leave it at that. Which brings me to this: I was talking with a Friend of mine about this and that and he asked me about the website, specifically about why I hadn't added anything new to the website for like months, and I was like, "What are you talking about? I'm adding new stuff to it all the time!" Well, I never see it., He said, and since I did drop the ball with a Karl Bakla Show Review that Mr. Bakla sent in to the website a while back (it ended up in the spam folder for some reason), I thought I'd list some, if not all of the stuff I've been adding to the website as of late. If I forget something or double post sorry. Just click on the hyperlink to check it out, yada yada yada. Pictures of Deadhand @ the Bikini Bar.Not to mention all the Show Reviews from 2003 that I re-added to the website (click here to read them) and the Pictures from 2003 that I also re-added (click here to check those out) so yeah, I do stuff motherfucker! LOL Add in all the band practicing and playing gigs and drinking and drugging and whoring and taco plate eating I try to squeeze into all my precious time, not to mention all the Bohemian Summer shenanigans with 'Her', well, I think I'm doing a pretty good job with things! :-) I mean, I'm not like the other 'Punk' website here in town, with a plethora of lackeys to do all the grunt work for free tickets to HOB Beardcore shows, nope! It's just me myself and I, both Sherpa and Drug Mule, a Title which, I just know, Roxie stole from me! LOL In her new band Crazy Chief she refers to herself as Drug Mule. ;-) hahaha Anyways, I'm done ranting - let's hit the ground running this weekend! It's Pride Week, so I will see you at Drink & Drag tonight after the parade downtown. I'll be the one with the mischievous grin in the conga line. <3
For you Spies out there, with little to no reading comprehension, I would just like to inform you that Seattle was a blast! I totally didn't wanna come back. Seriously. But I guess I had to. Right?
I had this glowing CD review written up about this new Local band, who feature a Friend of mine, and while looking up who the other members are, I thought that I saw that one of them was a member of a band that I can't stand, a band that I don't support in any way, shape and form, and a band who's members I will not support in any project that they're a part of. Morals? Beliefs? Values? Standards? Me? Yeah, I know. Shocks me too sometimes, but some things will never be forgotten. God Forgives. I don't. So I asked my Friend is it was the same person, and he confirmed that it was, and I reluctantly had to tell him I couldn't support his band. He asked why, and I told him, and he told me to stop being a Fag about it, but I didn't relent in the least bit, and after a while he said he respected my decision and we left it at that. No harsh words, no antipathy, nothing. Imagine that. And, as if to rub salt into my wounds, my Friend told me that their songs sound even better live. Fuck. Sometimes it's hard sticking to your guns. Sometimes. ;-)
I got this letter a while back, but just decided to post it up right now.

HEY ASSHOLE!! QUIT TALKING ABOUT SPORTS. SPORTS SUCK!!!! JOCKS SUCK MY PUNK ROCK DICK!!! GO BACK TO TALKING SHIT ABOUT SHITTY BANDS LIKE YOU USED TO. SPORTS ARENT PUNK!!! SPORTS IS BORING. FUCK YOU!!!!!
I'm guessing by all over usage of exclamation points that "They mean it, maaaaaaaan!" LOL Look, I get this all the time, every time, same time every year. I adore pontificating on my beloved San Jose Sharks and Oakland Raiders, and if you don't like it go read punksinvegas or something. The sports talk here only stops when my Teams aren't playing! And on that note: Fuck You Vancouver!! And speaking of punksinvegas, they were lucky enough to host the World debut of a new song by the new band Deadhand, which is just Lydia Vance without the emo guitar player whatshisname in it. I've been fortunate enough to hear Deadhand rehearsing their songs, and once I even slid my TASCAM recorder under their door and recorded their set. LOL Came out pretty good too! One of the songs I recorded, Prehistoric, is featured on the bands Pure Volume page, so just click here to check it out yourself if you haven't already and see just how fucking face melting Deadhand's music is. To say that I'm hyped on this is a huge understatement. Check out both songs on both websites and revel in the greatness that is Deadhand. :-)
For those of you who give a shit about PRB, Killing Joke has cancelled their Tour and will not be playing their Monday slot at PRB. Agnostic Front will be filling in for them, but save yourself the trouble and just go see them @ the Cheyenne Saloon when they play there in September. And speaking of bands not playing, Instinct Of Survival were denied entrance by the Dept. of Homeland Security into the U.S.A., based on their smelly dreads and lengthy criminal records. That sucks! I was looking forward to their gig next week @ Yayo Taco. Booooooooooo
It was 10 years ago today that we lost The Man, The Myth, The Legend, that will forever be known as Ronnie James Dio. \m/(*_*)\m/ Booooooooooooo. Such a cool little guy. The Voice may be gone but it will be heard forever and never, ever forgotten. OK, I think I've blabbered on long enough, and come pretty damn close to recreating what I wrote last night before the Weebly Monster decided to eat everything that I had wrote. Everything is updated. I added a shitload of shows to the Gig Calendar page, including the Loud Pipes gig @ the Double Down next week. Guttural Secrete are playing @ Yayo Taco tomorrow, and then this is happening Friday @ the Divebar. Yeah, I know. Yeah, Vegascendents / S.F.T. / I.D.F.I. are gonna be playing some tunes and drinking some brews and keeping the air full of the kind smoke. Stop on by and listen to some Punk Rock tuneage played as only we can. ;-) See ya there.
Hahahahaha... first off, Sorry that I said I was off to see the Uninvited in my last post when I meant to say the Unidentified. When I write this shit, I'm half way whacked out of my gourd, so you'll have to forgive me because mistakes do happen. I blame the pills. :-) Anyways, click on the Unidentified logo to get more info on what the band is up to and when their next gig is. Make sure you Like them as well.
I'm kind of bummed that I missed out on the 12 Volt Sex extravaganza that went down @ the Beauty Bar last Saturday, but the appeal of standing around outside in the cold was a major deterrent. I like the band a lot, but not enough to stand around outside waiting for them. And besides, I had a Surprise Birthday party to go to, for Mike from Guilty By Association! hahaha It's always fun trying not to giggle in the dark while waiting for the Birthday boy to come into his house so you can surprise him. Mucho booze was consumed, and many a story was told / shared. Good times. Happy Birthday Sir! I hope you get that Special PBR wish you're hoping for!
And speaking of Birthday's... Guess who's Birthday it is today!!! Yeah, that's right...
YUMMY!! hahahahaha Yup! It's Senor Pitt's Birthday today, and although he looks nothing like this anymore, it's this picture that, to me, best sums up what this Homo is all about... LOL Oh, the Stories I could tell but I won't, because it's all still going on. New chapters are being written every time we get together and do what we do, which usually consists of us hanging out somewhere and talking shop about Music and Bands and shit we got going on. The guy knows his shit, and even though he's a Corporate Whore for the Man now, I still Love him like a Brother. Happy Birthday Pitt, you old Queen! Many Happy Returns Sir! XOXOXOXO
So yeah, Punk Rock Bowling. It's got everyone talking, that's for sure. I understand the gripes, I see what the criticism is all about, and I know the good (very little) and the bad (a whole LOT!) of it all but you know what? It doesn't matter, because I'm gonna be there, and you're gonna be there, and that's that. Unless something else comes along more fun to do, then that's my plan for Memorial Day weekend, just as it's yours. Last year I didn't sleep, last year I didn't see 1 band that played, and I didn't give a shit because I was too busy drinking and hanging out with my Friends. I expect it will be much of the same, if not more so, this year, now that PRB isn't happening in Hendertucky this year, thank Gawd. If it wasn't for the Descendents, and maybe Killing Joke, then I wouldn't even be bothering to buy a ticket to get in. Every other band SUCKS or just has no reason being on the bill. Black Pacific? Really? The Krum Bums? Flask And His Flask? Dirty Filthy Mugs? Who's dick did they take in the ass to get on the bill? LOL Maybe it's because most of the bands announced so far have played here in Vegas to like, 10's or sometimes 20's of people that I'm not hyped on seeing them on a big stage from like, thousands of feet away (Citizen Fish @ East Side Joe's: 20 people there. The Dwarves @ Boomer's: 75 people there. Off With Their Heads @ the Bunkhouse: 50 people there) or maybe it's the fact that I saw some of these bands in their prime when they were good, and I can't imagine them getting better with age (Stiff Little Fingers, Cock Sparrer? Really? 3 good songs they have, and that's being generous. The Bouncing Souls? Do people still like them? And don't get me going on how ghey the Dropkick Murphys are, and the Undertones without Feargal Sharkey is just a cover band farce). Personally, I'm hoping that all the Drama that I think is going to ensue @ PRB will happen, with the contingent of loser punk kids who will come out of the woodwork to see craptacular bands like Leftover Crack who will either try to avoid paying to get in, because, let's face it, paying to get into a gig is sooooooooooo not Punk, or the smelly dirt bags will be giving Security their grief, in their never ending quest to Smash the State and Overthrow the Government from the safety of their Mommy and Daddy's house in Green Valley. Fucking Poseurs. So yeah, that's my take on Punk Rock Bowling. It's the 13th Annual. Let's hope it's the last one ever because let's face it, most of you wouldn't even bother attending if it was held out in California, now would you? Of course not. Neither would I.
