Ugh! It's Sat. morning! WTF am I doing up so early? LOL Fuck it. Lemme get some thoughts down before I forget them.

If you know, you know, and I'm not gonna get too much into the details, but the thing with Ainjil is over. They found him Guilty on all charges. Maybe there is hope for believing in the system? Who knows. It won't bring those that she Loved and Lost back, but I'm Thankful that this aspect of the ordeal she's been dealing with is over. Now she can move on to the Healing process and maybe become Happy again. Not as Happy as she was, of course, but maybe just a little Happy. She deserves at least that. <3
Waste Your Life Family BBQ
So does anyone wanna tell me what happened at last nights Mapes gig? LOL Horn players? Really? Wowsers. Sounds like I missed out on a really fun time! I heard the same thing about that Fat Dukes Of Fuck gig @ the Double Clown. I heard they did some damage to that piss hole place they played at, and sprayed the crowd with a toilet paper shooting air gun. Again, sounds like I missed out on some good clean fun!! And is Turbo the new official drummer for the Seriouslys? Do I wanna know what happened with Emma? Was she sick or something? Bob was there taking pictures for the website, so look for those to be up here by sometime next year or whenever he gives them to me. Tonight is the Waste Your Life Family Barbecue shindig going down @ the Bunkhouse, but I don't think I'll be going to that. Too artsy for me. Holding Onto Sound, Deadhand, Highdro, Left Unattended and One Pin Short are playing, which is cool, but then you have like 300 Indie bands that I've never heard of playing as well, so yeah, I'm gonna stay away from that thing, even though I'd like to hang with Her while she's there working the place. We could make fun of the Ho's like we did at the Jesus And Mary Chain show! ;-) And besides, I would only go to the Bunkhouse tonight to see Deadhand, but I'm totally seeing them on Monday. With Valient Thorr

Valient Thorr
Yeah, Valient Thorr. Pretty cool band. Monster guitar riffs and fat, loud and fast paced music all fronted by a guy who's seriously a disturbed motivational speaker or a demented Preacher or maybe both, I dunno... LOL They're big among the Hipster Elite, which makes me wary of the band, because if those type of people like them, then something must be wrong with the band, right? heh heh Of course, there was a shitload of those Downtown Dooshbags at that Melt Banana gig @ the Bunkhouse a while back, and there's nothing wrong with that band, so maybe I'm off in my assessment. I'm not good at guesstimating why Hipsters like what they do. Maybe it's the Beard thing. I think every guy in Valient Thorr sports a beard, but that don't make them Beardcore - oh no! Valient Thorr are a fucking kick ass Punk Rock and Roll band, combining the best of bands like Turbonegro, AC/DC and early Metallica, and they're capable of laying waste to a venue at any moments notice. You do not wanna miss these guys. It's gonna be a sick gig. And the chance to see Deadhand on a big stage just sweetens the deal. I haven't seen those guys in a while, so yeah, I'm definitely overdue for a Deadhand fix. It's gonna be a great night. Come on out. You won't regret it. Promise. ;-)

Speaking of regret, how funny is that thing about Harley from the Cro-Mags stabbing his replacement in the band? hahaha I've been pretty fucking pissed off about being kicked out of a band I've been in but never enough to stab someone! LOL Beat the shit out of, sure, but stab? Nope! hee hee hee Anyways, you can read all about it by clicking here or looking it up via Google yourself, you lazy bastards. :-) Everything is updated. I just added the Pictures I took on the 4th of July up to the website, and you can click here to check them out. Only interesting if you were there or if you're a nosy ex trying to keep up on what I'm up to... heh heh

I have a big announcement at the end of this, something I've been sitting on for about a week now, sworn to secrecy while the details were being worked out. I was told I could announce it on Tuesday, and so I will, right after I spew on about this first.

First off, Happy Birthday to the One, the Only, the Sorely Missed on the Tag Board ever since he became sane, the Impeccably Dressed Hollywood Shane, who is now known as New York Shane nowadays, unfortunately. :-( I believe he turns 27 or some shit like that, well, that's what he tells the Trannies down at Washington Square in Greenwich Village anyways.

Shane is a Fag!!
Shane, he's talking to Y-O-U...
I'm not gonna bore you with Tales of all the times Shane stole my Booze or my Drugs, sometimes doing both on the same night! No, All I'm going to do is wish a very Happy Birthday to a very near and dear friend of mine, that I'm glad is still around for me to tell him things like this:
Picture
I think the creepy grin says it all... ;-)
Hee hee hee Happy Birthday Bro! I love you, and I miss you! Try not to get too, too crazy on your Birthday - oh shit, look who I'm telling that too! hahahahahaha XOXOXOXO

So yeah, how was everyone's V.D. day? Mines was spectacular! The huge bundle of loot I spent on the holiday was well worth everything I got in return, which is always a good thing. I didn't make it to the Off! gig @ the palms, but I'm not really bummed about it because I don't even like that band, but I wanted to go because I thought it would be an event or some shit like that. I haven't been going to any gigs this year, and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. The ones I do plan on going to, like last Thursdays debut gig of The Unidentified @ the LVCS, or the Apocalyptics and the State Streets gig @ Meatheads on Saturday, usually end up with me in my broken down car at the side of the road, waiting for a mechanic or a tow truck to come save my ass. LOL Or something else more interesting comes up, or I decide to get drunk somewhere. I think I'm slipping a bit. I don't care as much as I used to. Maturity? Naaaahh. I know there's a shit load of new bands coming around, and I wanna Interview them and take Pictures of them before they get too big or start hanging out with the wrong people, but I don't really wanna do that because I want to, it's more just for the website. I dunno. I'll figure it out. There's too many good gigs coming up that I wanna check out, like the 12 Volt Sex reunion gig happening this Sat. @ the Beauty Bar. I have always been a sucker for a good hook, and 12 Volt Sex songs had them by the bucketful!!! I still listen to their stuff - most of it still holds up. Yeah, that gig is going to be fun. Hope to see a bunch of old Las Vegas heads turn out for that one.

Who watches the Grammy's nowadays? Didn't they lose credibility like, when Jethro Tull beat out Metallica in Best Heavy Metal Band category? LOL I was a bit taken back by the many people I know, who's musical taste and knowledge I revere and respect, being concerned with it's outcome or participants in any way, shape or form. Who the Hell are Arcade Fire and who cares? Gee, the Best New Artist has been releasing albums for 6 years now - who gives a shit? I'm glad I don't keep up on current things in music. I don't even hear shit like Cee-Lo, Keisha or Rihanna unless I'm in a strip club. Heard Lady Gaga there for the first time too. That craptacular music should stay in strip clubs, where it's the perfect fodder for some ho-bag to rub her vajeen on your crotch, infecting you and making you a Carrier for whatever neglected disease that particular 'Entertainer' is inflamed with this week. Strip clubs - you gotta love 'em! You know I do.

Quite possibly the GREATEST Zombie movie EVER!!! <3
Besides that 12 Volt Sex gig, there's a bunch of good gigs happening soon. Friday's that Joe Buck Yourself Rockasilly thing happening @ the LVCS, then on Saturday if you don't go to the 12 Volt Sex thing, you could always head off to the Double Down to see the Black Jetts and Left Unattended rock that toilet, or see the Quitters and Nothing With Numbers guys fuck shit up @ the LVCS. If none of that appeals to you, then TheCore are playing @ the Cheyenne Saloon that night as well! Too many choices, and all too far apart. Phooey. Sunday's got Less Than Jake and Off With Their Heads are at the House of Boooooooo's, and then Monday Ministry Of Love is headlining Area 702 over a bunch of bands with some of the shittiest names EVER!! And for you Old School Hessians out there, Death Angel is playing @ the Cheyenne Saloon. Death Angel... cool guys. Haven't seen them since I played a gig with them @ the Country Club in Reseda with Possessed and Sacred Reich! hahahaha The 80's... what were we thinking? LOL Fun times then, fun times now. Get off your ass and get to some gigs! There's waaaaaaay too much to do to wanna stay home.

Oh, and that big announcement thing I was talking about... Descendents are playing Las Vegas in May downtown in front of the El Cortez - GET HYPED!!!  :-)

So I'm talking to a budding prostitute friend of mine the other night, right? She's asking me when I was going to update the website, and I told her that I wanted to, but I really didn't have anything to say. I mean, what was I going to write about? Bashing on the idiotic bands that participated in that Vegas Rocks awards ceremony was too easy, and what I thought to be a huge waste of time. Pay to Play awards show? Weak as fuck. Grovelling for acceptance / recognition from a magazine that doesn't give 2 shits about your band or your music scene? Fuck off! All you bands that attended and were involved with that shit should be ashamed of yourselves. Go play another Anti-Bar Fest in the desert and then play a bar afterwords for your real fans, you bunch of hypocrites you, but I digress. Back to the front line. I had nothing to chat up really, but after waking up this evening and checking out my Facebook page, I suddenly was inspired by what I saw posted on there. With a mouth full of vitriol I now proceed.

The Las Vegas Weekly can suck it. Seriously. I have never been a fan of their glossy piece of shit rag, with it's focus more on the 'beautiful people' who queue up to the Clubs like the sheep that they are to dance the night away while hearing a set of mediocrity being put together by some jack off scenester douche bag with his iPod, and kissing the ass of the advertisers who pay waaaayyy too much money to be included in this weeks crap filled issue, and throw into that mix the fact that they give little to no coverage to any scene or gig that's not happening @ the Beauty Bar or the Palms, well it all just adds up to me giving up on that fluff filled magazine years and years and years ago. 1997 I believe it was. :-)

I can't speak of their coverage of anything else with any air of authority, but I can say this with all the conviction I can muster - their Local music scene coverage is a joke. A sad, pathetic, unfunny joke. The stuff they print is usually regurgitated press releases, sometimes verbatim (I know - I get the same press releases they do), and their, ahem, 'Reviews' of stuff that's happening around town is just as see through and watery as a Coors light piss at 4 in the morning. The initiator of all this piss & vinegar comes after reading this 'Review' of the Las Vegas Shake Down written by one Laura Davis, who, I can only assume after reading her write up on the event, is some retarded scenester chick sniffling and snorting with others of her ilk in the bathroom stalls of the Beauty Bar or the Griffin. Click here to read it. Now the article title is a bit misleading, isn't it? She was there for a few hours of 1 day, not at all 3 days of the event. She shows up 5 hours late for the last day of the festival, talks about the first band she sees (Spindrift - who?) by mentioning nothing about the bands performance, she apparently watches the cock rock singer of the next band (Morlocks - again, who?) talk to the crowd before their set and then again, mentions nothing about the bands performance that night, and then goes over to the Beauty Bar where she mentions that it looks like a Double Down crowd in attendance (a very sad thing to say, in my humble opinion) and she then mentions that the Lower Class Brats are 'tearing the place a new one'. Oh 'em GEE!! That last statement sent me over the freaking edge! The Lower Class Brats, on their best of days, couldn't rip any place a new one. Never. And they aren't even fit to carry the sweaty, shit and piss stained tighty whitey Fruit of the Loom underwear that the Rip Offs may or may not wear. The Rip Offs, a real punk band, not a bunch of douche bags mining that whole 'A Clockwork Orange' thing that most of us grew out of when we got our first pubic hairs. Man, there's nothing I hate more than ignorant, lazy journalism. It just make me go 'Grrrrrrrrrrrr'. Laura Davis, Congratulations! You've inspired me to be a much better coughcoughjournalistcoughcough than I already am, and you've allowed me to vent a bit about your shitty writing and the shitty paper you work for. Thank you very much for that. Stay the fuck away from things in which you know nothing about, like anything Punk Rock related. Now both of you go off somewhere in the desert past Sam Boyd Stadium and die please. Thank you.

In the 'Who Cares?' Dept: Fletcher from Pennywise gets tasered and arrested after getting into a fight with the band Alesana (who?) on the Denver stop of the Warped Tour. Click here to read all about it. As someone who has personally gotten into a brawl with Senor Fletcher, all I can say is that the Cops are lucky it only took 5 tasers to take him down. That dude hits hard as fuck. :-)

Anyways, loads of new stuff added, Gig Calendar page updated, the Black Fag / Left Unattended / 1/2 Ast / Dick Falcon Show Review is up and running (click here to read it), the photos of the Zodiac Killers and the Humpers are posted, and everything is chugging along nicely. I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep the website with this look but for now, I'm digging it! hahaha

I don't see it yet but it should of happened by now. The slightly New and Improved onethirtyeight.org. I like it! The website is soooooooooo much easier to maintain / work with now, and it's a bit more personal, with the easy to work Photo Galleries and the ability to Search for stuff now, and comment on things more directly. Oh, and having a spell check now is a god send! The inspiration for the overhaul came from 'The Killaaah', aka Kathy, Punk Rock Goddess extraordinaire, when she posted something on Facebook about making a website with this thing called a Weebly, and she included a Link to whatever a Weebly was. So I'm a curious sod, and I clicked on the Link and started mucking about with it and damn, if it wasn't pretty easy to work with. Much easier than the few others I had tried working with, that's for sure! LOL After thinking about it for a second I said 'fuck it' and committed to getting everything transferred over to the new server. I've been jonesing on this project for hours straight now. I'm looking forward to getting anything and everything I can up here, and I have The Killlaaah to thank for it, so Thank You Kathy, for the nudge in the right direction, even if it was a bit inadvertent. The end result is the same - the website looks neato! Thanks Kathy! XOXO

Black Fag, Dick Falcon, 1/2 Ast and Left Unattended this Friday. The Ghost Stories & Monsters Art Show and After Party, featuring Jack Grisham And The Westcoast Dukes and Pigasus, on Saturday. All 3 events happening @ the LVCS. I might as well just sleep there all weekend. It's gonna be a good time. :-)
