For you Spies out there, with little to no reading comprehension, I would just like to inform you that Seattle was a blast! I totally didn't wanna come back. Seriously. But I guess I had to. Right?

I had this glowing CD review written up about this new Local band, who feature a Friend of mine, and while looking up who the other members are, I thought that I saw that one of them was a member of a band that I can't stand, a band that I don't support in any way, shape and form, and a band who's members I will not support in any project that they're a part of. Morals? Beliefs? Values? Standards? Me? Yeah, I know. Shocks me too sometimes, but some things will never be forgotten. God Forgives. I don't. So I asked my Friend is it was the same person, and he confirmed that it was, and I reluctantly had to tell him I couldn't support his band. He asked why, and I told him, and he told me to stop being a Fag about it, but I didn't relent in the least bit, and after a while he said he respected my decision and we left it at that. No harsh words, no antipathy, nothing. Imagine that. And, as if to rub salt into my wounds, my Friend told me that their songs sound even better live. Fuck. Sometimes it's hard sticking to your guns. Sometimes. ;-)

I got this letter a while back, but just decided to post it up right now.

SPORTS SUCK!!!!

HEY ASSHOLE!! QUIT TALKING ABOUT SPORTS. SPORTS SUCK!!!! JOCKS SUCK MY PUNK ROCK DICK!!! GO BACK TO TALKING SHIT ABOUT SHITTY BANDS LIKE YOU USED TO. SPORTS ARENT PUNK!!! SPORTS IS BORING. FUCK YOU!!!!!

I'm guessing by all over usage of exclamation points that "They mean it, maaaaaaaan!" LOL Look, I get this all the time, every time, same time every year. I adore pontificating on my beloved San Jose Sharks and Oakland Raiders, and if you don't like it go read punksinvegas or something. The sports talk here only stops when my Teams aren't playing! And on that note:

'Nucks Suck
Fuck You Vancouver!!
And speaking of punksinvegas, they were lucky enough to host the World debut of a new song by the new band Deadhand, which is just Lydia Vance without the emo guitar player whatshisname in it. I've been fortunate enough to hear Deadhand rehearsing their songs, and once I even slid my TASCAM recorder under their door and recorded their set. LOL Came out pretty good too! One of the songs I recorded, Prehistoric, is featured on the bands Pure Volume page, so just click here to check it out yourself if you haven't already and see just how fucking face melting Deadhand's music is. To say that I'm hyped on this is a huge understatement. Check out both songs on both websites and revel in the greatness that is Deadhand. :-)

For those of you who give a shit about PRB, Killing Joke has cancelled their Tour and will not be playing their Monday slot at PRB. Agnostic Front will be filling in for them, but save yourself the trouble and just go see them @ the Cheyenne Saloon when they play there in September. And speaking of bands not playing, Instinct Of Survival were denied entrance by the Dept. of Homeland Security into the U.S.A., based on their smelly dreads and lengthy criminal records. That sucks! I was looking forward to their gig next week @ Yayo Taco. Booooooooooo

It was 10 years ago today that we lost The Man, The Myth, The Legend, that will forever be known as Ronnie James Dio. \m/(*_*)\m/ Booooooooooooo. Such a cool little guy. The Voice may be gone but it will be heard forever and never, ever forgotten.
OK, I think I've blabbered on long enough, and come pretty damn close to recreating what I wrote last night before the Weebly Monster decided to eat everything that I had wrote. Everything is updated. I added a shitload of shows to the Gig Calendar page, including the Loud Pipes gig @ the Double Down next week. Guttural Secrete are playing @ Yayo Taco tomorrow, and then this is happening Friday @ the Divebar. Yeah, I know.
Vegascendents Flyer
Yeah, Vegascendents / S.F.T. / I.D.F.I. are gonna be playing some tunes and drinking some brews and keeping the air full of the kind smoke. Stop on by and listen to some Punk Rock tuneage played as only we can. ;-) See ya there.

I had this HUGE update posted, hyper-linked and everything, and when I hit the button to post it, nothing showed up. I tried to go back to a previously saved version of it, and that was gone too. FUCK!!! I'm going to sleep. I'll re-write it in the afternoon when I wake up.

GO TO THIS GIG TONIGHT!!!

It's that time of year, where Bands and Musicians come together to do what they can in order to help those less fortunate than themselves, which, when you think about it, is saying a lot, because most people in Bands are pretty close to being in the poorhouse themselves! You got shows like this one happening tonight @ the LVCS to help poor children in Africa have well water.
The Second Mile Love Project
And then tomorrow night's the Local 107.9 Holiday Toy Drive @ the Bunkhouse with the Mapes, Unfair Fight and the Remedies. Nothing With Numbers is no longer playing the gig, due to someone in the band being sick. 107.9 is a radio station, right? Who the Hell still listens to terrestrial radio anymore? Satellite radio rules the wasteland! LOL
Mapes Flyer
And then on Saturday, it's a Holiday Benefit Show for buying some kids in need some much deserved toys for Christmas. The Dirty Panties, the Quitters, Betting On Tomorrow and the Vegascendents will be playing. Bring lots of cash to buy raffle tickets for a chance to win some of the cool swag being given away. Vegascendents play first.
Vegascendents Flyer
It's not a Holiday gig in any way, shape or form, but Lydia Vance is playing the Brass Lounge with The Thought Of and Asterionella. I Am The Thief was supposed to play but, in keeping with their recent ways of getting on the bill and then canceling weeks later, they're not gonna make it to the gig. Booooooooooooo.

And all of this adds up to a very busy weekend indeed, with those who need help this time of year getting a little something something to get them through the Holidays. Pretty cool, right? If you're in a band and wanna help out the next upcoming Holiday benefit gig, which is for Shade Tree Shelter, please contact Roddy Belford @ roddy_belford@yahoo.com to get involved with that. Tonight's the Sharks @ Buffalo game, with the festivities going down @ the Hotel Amoroso, which is slowly becoming the most happening place in town to see and be seen at. ;-) I'm glad the clientele is as exclusive as it is there. I can only imagine what would happen if anyone and everyone started showing up there. Come on by and watch as the King lauds proudly and loudly over the Prince while his beloved Sharks attack and destroy the Princes lowly Sabres on their home ice. This victory will be oh, so sweet!

hahahahaha Man, what with all the excitement of the Nails gig @ Yayo Taco, the place across the street from me catching fire and being revealed to be a marijuana grow house, and the fuel pump going out on my car (again), and with my new band Aluminum Falcon having their first gig Oct. 23 @ LVCS with Betting On Tomorrow, Last Night's Heroes (Miss La-La Liz's new band) and some lame-o's called the Sex Slaves (don't even ask), I've been slacking on my sports watching, with pretty much NHL Opening Day 2010 going by without a peep, and I don't like that, so I decided to do some Monday morning quarterbacking today, especially after catching the last quarter of that Raiders / Chargers game yesterday. To wake up so late in the afternoon and have my team still in the hunt was both shocking and exciting. We had a chance to win, and win we did with the Defense finally coming through for us (as best they could anyways) and with Campbell, of all people, leading the team up and down the field, putting points on the board after runs of 55, 97 and 73 yards. Special teams were great on blocking those punts in the 1st quarter, and that roughing the kicker pass in the 2nd was complete bullshit! UGH! It was a see-saw battle towards the end there, but once Branch scooped up that fumble and ran it in for the touchdown near the end of the 4th, I started the celebration, which consisted of me talking shit to all my Family and Friends both here and back home who are Chargers fans, rubbing it in that the 13 game losing streak was broken. Yeah, I was doubtful, I admit it, but man, I love when my team does the unexpected and proves me wrong. Looking forward to the 49ers game next week! We gonna be partying at the Amoroso Villa Bay Area style! hahahaha

The Bay Area - my Obsession. The San Jose Sharks - another Obsession! Yeah, NHL season is finally here (Praise El Duce!) and my team is doing OK so far. I'm still not sold on Niemi as our goaltender, but what the fuck. We came out of Germany with 3 points, and that's not bad. 4 would of been nice, but I'll take the 3. Norton wearing the C has him shooting more, and Heatley and Marleau are still the best friends he's got, but sometimes we looked good out there, and sometimes we looked scared. It's early in the season, and as always, I remain forever optimistic. I'm not saying that the Sharks will be in contention for the Cup towards the end of the season, but hey - anything's possible, right? ;-)

Go to the Young Livers / Holding On To Sound / Lydia Vance / TheCore gig tonight @ the Bunkhouse. For the Local bands alone it's worth the price of admission. If anyone would like to give me a ride there and back, it would be greatly appreciated... wink wink!

I don't do well around drunken women. I have no patience with them anymore. I blame a certain cunt of an ex wife for that. Is that better Caroline? :-) You like that word better you nosy cunt?

So I'm at the Crown Theater, hammering back $20 double Jack and Cokes at the bar, trying my hardest to drown out the suckiness that is coming from the stage, courtesy of the
Skooners, who had been given the honor of opening up for Squeeze, chosen over Lydia Vance, who were deemed "too hard" of a band to be opening up the bill. Whatever. I guess they went the complete opposite because the Skooners are some of the wimpiest, non-hard bands I've ever seen. Ghey on a whole 'nother level. The drunken women thing becomes most apparent when I'm in the midst of them. I queued up to the front of the stage during the Beat (who were always a bunch of tossers in my book - I'm a Madness fan all the way!) and I'm surrounded by them - drunken Cougars and MILF's all dancing like they did @ their last Sadie Hawkins dance, crying for attention, loud and obnoxious, and spilling their booze all over me while burning me with their lit cigarettes. AAARGH!! I was almost ready to leave, but my Love of the band Squeeze kept me there. And it was sooooooooooooooooo fucking worth it. I was mesmerized from the opening notes of Take Me I'm Yours onward. Epic shit man. Glad to see I wasn't the only Punk dude there, as Brendan and Jarrett from Lydia Vance were in attendance, as well as one of the Mapes, all of them there with their respective significant others. Yeah, Squeeze is definitely a 'Love' kind of thing, which explains why I was there alone! hahaha Review coming soon. I sooooooooo needed this gig right now in my Life. Saved me it did. Yup!

The Celebration of Todd Sampson's Life will be held this Sat. at 9 pm @ Wasted Space inside the Hard Rock. It's a benefit, with all proceeds going towards Todds family. The hat will be passed around, so make sure to bring a Donation or 2 to help out. There's also gonna be some Memorial tee shirts sold, so bring some cash for those too. There's gonna be an open mic for anyone wishing to step up and say a few words in memoriam of Todd, and there's also gonna be some instruments set up, so that people can jam and play some tunes in honor of someone who had a Hell of a lot to do with making the Las Vegas Music Scene what it is today. Sat. night, it's a Celebration bitches, a celebration for one of the good ones who died much too soon. Click here to check out the Facebook page with all the details. Should be a very bittersweet night full of Memories, Laughter, and maybe a few Tears. R.I.P. dude. May your Journey be an Easy one.

The Assassin is no longer available to hit fools. Yeah, in keeping up with the Sports side of this website, Legendary DB for the Oakland Raiders Jack Tatum passed away a few days ago, and it just reminds me of what a fearsome force the Raiders were at one time, and what a dangerous sport the game used to be. The stuff that Tatum was doing back then was a regular part of the game, and now most of it would be considered illegal, if not downright criminal! LOL His hit on Stingley was brutal, leaving Stingley paralyzed from the neck down, and his reputation as a hard hitting mother fucker was relished and feared. Tatum was the Man, hitting people so hard their helmets would fly off of their heads, and that's why to this day his Alma Matter Ohio State still gives out the 'Jack Tatum Hit Of The Week' Award to the player who had the hardest, most impressive defensive hit of the game. Yeah, his hit on Fuqua led to the 'Immaculate Reception' in the playoff game vs. the Steelers, but we can forgive him for that. Click here to watch the video on YouTube for some evidence of his brutality and listen to what others have to say about him. He wasn't voted #6 Most Feared Tackler in NFL History for nothing ya know! ;-) An important part of the Raiders 1976 Super Bowl season. # 32 Jack Tatum. A true Raider Warrior. The Assassin. R.I.P.

Enough with the Deaths already - Let's move on to something more light hearted, more celebratory, like Birthdays! Yup! There's a major Birthday party going down tonight @ the Amoroso's brand new Casa de Cool for the Prince of Drummers, aka Danny, the drum machine that makes the
Pigasus go. There's gonna be CAKE (natch!) and beer and ale and whiskey and rum for the kids, and bring your swim trunks, because there's a huge pool there that needs some bodies swimming in it. Hank, I'm throwing you in, so be ready for it! LOL Yeah, it's gonna be that kind of party. Hit up Roxie or Jesse for info / directions. I don't know how old Danny is, but I do know that he's got about that many kicks in the ass coming to him, and plus, he's a Buffalo Sabres fan, so he deserves it... hahahaha. Should be a fun time - hope to see some of you there.

I got a message on Myspace from some kid who was asking me how I could claim to be a Punk Rock website when I wasn't even hyping up the Total Gay Ass gig @ 702 tomorrow. After I explained to him the whole Brian Infestshit thing, he wrote back and said he will be standing outside when the band is playing, and that he doesn't support them in any way shape or form. I guess there's still hope for the future. ;-) That part that scares me is that one of of my older Punk friends was like 'I'd rather go see Total Gay Ass than Blink 182 and I countered that by saying I'd rather go see Blink 182 because at least they have a few good songs that are way more Punk than anything Total Gay Ass has ever done. Back when I was living in CA., Total Gay Ass was considered a joke in the beginning, and no one took them the least bit seriously. If you've ever heard Rob Chaos talk in real life you'd know why I say that. I never figured out what people saw in that band, but oh well. Some of us never lost our initial viewpoint. We're the Hardcore. We still Believe. :-) Go out to 702 and drink some beers in the parking lot, and have fun supporting a gig full of douche-bag Poseurs, being entertained by bands populated with convicted women beating pieces of shit and two-faced lying little boys, and the other bands stupid enough to choose to play with them. Sad to say I'm disappointed in you guys, but whatever. It's your band - have fun with it. It's just my opinion... what do I know? hahahahaha

Everything's updated. Rollercon is in town, and I can't find a single reason to attend, but maybe you can. ;-) Support your Friends - Love your Enemies. Later.
