I'm sorry, but I had to. It was like I felt compelled to do it, like something deep inside of me was just yearning to break out and pontificate upon this travesty that's being thrust upon my Friends and Family, and the sad part is, some of them are actually getting into it. They're actually HYPED on it, which just boggles my mind. I mean, really? REALLY??? Am I that far out of the loop, or are all of you just that stupid? Maybe a little of both?
Picture
Worst. Lineup. EVER!!!
Wowsers. I am beyond disappointed in this. They better hope that the late night club shows are interesting, because if not, then I really got no reason to be anywhere near this stink fest. Lemme break this down for you band by band, to better illustrate what a farcical gathering of Poseurs this thing is going to be - just based on these "headliners", or "West Coast Heavy Hitters" as the Punk Rock Bowling website is billing them as. Le Sigh. Fucking dooshbags, and BTW, that chick on the poster looks totally 'Punk Rock', doesn't she?

Rancid:
My hatred for this band is Legendary, because, let's face it, they suck big wet donkey balls and ask for seconds when they do. Biggest bunch of jokes I've ever had the displeasure of seeing play live, and their songs are just terrible. There's just nothing there and Tim's pronounced farcical English accent is nauseating. Rancid is about as Punk Rock as Hot Topic is. Enough said.

NOFX:
They just played here like last month, so for them to be headlining one of the days is a bit of a slap in the face to their fans here. I'm not even sure that HOB gig was sold out either. It's just a bit of lazy booking that they're even on the bill. Not to mention that they've been running on fumes for years, and that the schtick has been stale and old for years now. Years.

Pennywise:
Even if you ignore the fact that they're currently gigging around with a new singer that sucks, these guys have no business being on here. I've never understood what anyone likes about this band, and the Braah's that do like this band make me stay away from them even more. I never liked Jocks. :-) But even when they had their original lead singer, they fucking sucked anus, and with this new guy they're parading around, I'm sure they've only gotten shitty and more sucky, if that's at all possible. Bro-Core invades Punk Rock Bowling and all of you won't give a shit, because you all like it. Sing loud when they play Bro Anthem dooshbag. Yeah, I'm talking to you.

The Adicks:
Oh man, this one, wowsers. These fucking Rockstar pieces of shit got chased out of town with their pussy ass tiny English puds tucked firmly between their clown faced painted ass cheeks after what they tried to pull on Roxie and the LVCS. Anyone remember that? Probably not, and it doesn't matter. Punk Rock Bowling feeds on the ignorant few like you. Nostalgia for Monetary Gains. You're all gonna be there dancing along to Viva La Revolution, acting like you're so original and hardcore and whatnot when really, you're just a fool, a fucking sheep in the crowd. This band is not worth supporting and should be loudly Booooo'd and pelted with feces when they take the stage. Fuck them. Do you remember the last time the Adicks played here in Vegas? I do! It was at Diablo's. There was like 20 people there. Pathetic. And now they're one of the headliners, sneaking back in to play Vegas through a little loophole, a favor from a friend, acting like everything's cool and like they are loved here. Fuck that, and Fuck them. What a fucking farce. Fuck off Wankers!

The Briefs:
I really got no beef with the Briefs. Heroin's a Hell of a Drug, ya know? I mean, if you've never seen the Dickies, 999 or the Devil Dogs before, then I guess I could see why you like them. Unoriginal. The Briefs are just a yawn inducing snooze fest to me.  I saw them play a Punk Rock Bowling awards ceremony opening up for Manic Hispanic @ Pinky's many, many moons ago, and was just nonplussed while watching them. I guess the biggest thing with them being announced on here is the fact that the Briefs are being put onto the same level as NOFX and Rancid when they clearly are not. They're not very good, and they never were. Definitely nothing to be hyped about.

So yeah. If these are the best bands that are going to be playing Punk Rock Bowling, then count me out! I'm gonna stay as far as fuck away from it as I possibly can. There's a reason why Motörhead has never played Punk Rock Bowling. Think about it. ;-) And, on that note, I'm gonna step off my soap box and get back to editing the photos I took on my trip to Cali. Everything's updated. Yada Yada Yada. I hope Punk Rock Bowling gets some better bands playing, otherwise I got better things to do, like check out the new water park that's opening that weekend. Hyped! :-)

Year End Lists - you know I love them! ;-)

Seems like everybody and their Mothers were putting out lists, either about the best musical releases of 2011 or the best gigs they saw that year or the biggest shits they took or whatever, and after reading the Las Vegas Weekly's pathetic attempt at year end lists (which you can read by clicking here) I was inspired to attempt my own lists, so here they are!

Top Ten Best Releases of 2011:

1.    Jesus Lizard - Club
One of the most frightening live shows ever recorded. All killer no filler. The sound quality on this is phenomenal!  Nothing released this year even comes close to how powerful and amazing this record is. Nothing.

2.     Deadhand - Deadhand
The song writing, musicianship and emotions on display in this release still give me the chills. Scary good, and it still makes the hair on the back on my neck stand up every time a song off of this comes up on shuffle on my iPhone.

3.    P.J. Harvey - Let England Shake
Simply astounding in it's musical brilliance. The best thing she's done since Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea. The woman is a genius.

4.     Naked City Romeos - Naked City Romeos
If this CD came out in the classic Punk Rock era of yesteryear, it would be considered a legendary record alongside other releases by the Sex Pistols, 999, The Dictators and the Damned. Yeah, it's that fucking good.

5.     Unfair Fight - A Constant Struggle
Again, if this CD came out in the classic Punk Rock eras of yesteryear, it would be considered an essential part of any Hardcore music collection alongside other releases by Agnostic Front, SSD, or the Cro-Mags. This release is incredible - enough said.

6.     The Dwarves - The Dwarves Are Born Again
The fact that the Dwarves are still around is to be commended. The fact that they put out this CD full of such kick ass music is just icing on the cake. A great release that gives you exactly what you'd expect and deserve from this seminal band.

7.     Jane's Addiction - The Great Escape Artist
Going back to their Nothing's Shocking drawing board, the band juggled bass players while coming together to create what is undoubtedly the best thing they've done in a long, long time.

8.     The People's Whiskey - Eight Tracks And Dub Sacks
This CD came straight out of Hendertucky to hit a home run with this raw, melodic presentation of some of the better songs the band has been playing around live for a while now. The impassioned vocals and musical stylings on here are just fantastic.

9.     Faith - Subject To Change Plus First Demo
This often overlooked classic band finally gets the recognition they deserve by having all of their material remixed and remastered, and it sounds better than it ever did. For this material to come out this year is a godsend.

10.   Napalm Raid - Trail Of The World
One of the heaviest, crustiest recordings to come out this year. This 4 song EP highlights the bands musical muscle in short, brutal blasts of fiery anger. Amazing stuff.

And while I'm in the mood for it, here's another one:

Top 10 Best Gigs of 2011:

1.    Melt Banana @ The Bunkhouse
If you were there, then you know why this gig was the best one to go down this year. How amazing was the band? And the crowd?? Wowsers!! Definitely in my Top 10 list for the best gigs I've ever seen in my Life. Seriously.

2.     Shellac @ The Beauty Bar
I don't know why they played, but I'm glad I was there! I stood directly in front of the band with my mouth agape in bewilderment as they just pummeled the crowd with one incredible song after another. This gig was soul cleansing. Fucking brilliant.

3.    Freddie McGregor @ Reggae In The Desert
Wowsers. I still can't believe I witnessed the King of Lover's Rock deliver a set of musical brilliance to an amorous and appreciative audience, who were hanging on every note the Man sung.

4.    Deadhand @ Hypnotic Lounge
The band played a residency at this pool hall in September that highlighted their just released self titled EP, and to be able to see them perform live every weekend was a mind blowing treat.

5.    Barrington Levy @ The Bunkhouse
To watch this dance hall Legend up close and personal in this downtown dive bar, 2 days in a row no less, was akin to seeing Peter Tosh at the Double Down. Just. Fucking. Incredible.

6.    Manic Hispanic @ Diablo's
To see Jefe, fresh out of the hospital, lead El Hoakie Loco and their primos through a blistering set of old and new material was incredible. One of the best bands to play live you'll ever see.

7.     Zeke @ The LVCS
The high revving, nitrous burning Rock N Roll machine known as Zeke just fucking slayed everyone in the place when they played here, leaving no doubt that these guys are no one to fuck with when they play. Sheer genius.

8.    Napalm Raid @ Yayo Taco
These crusty Canadians played the most brutal set of D-Beat Noise Not Music that Vegas ever witnessed, and there wasn't more than 10 people in the room when they did it, and the intensity level was through the roof. Fuck yeah!!!

9.    Descendents @ Punk Rock Bowling
I only watched a little bit of it from the outside, because I wasn't stupid enough to pay to get in, but what I saw was pretty impressive. Not from the band, who have definitely lost a few steps along the way, but more from the crowd, who just showered the band with nothing but Love L-U-V while they played nearly every song that the people wanted to hear. Pretty great to see.

10.    The People's Whiskey @ The Royal Resort
I love these guys, and on this particular day they delivered a set of songs that was so fucking punk rocking, so memorable, that it was stuck in my mind for months afterwards. It was like seeing Nirvana when they played Al's Bar to like, nobody. This was one for the History books.

Yeah, that's pretty good for off the top of my head. :-) While I'm reminiscing about the last month of the year, lemme publicly acknowledge one of the worst kept secrets in all of the Las Vegas Music Scene by Congratulating Ministry Of Love on their signing to Negative Progression Records. The band certainly deserves it, and I look forward to hearing their tales of no label support, no money, shitty touring situations and all the fun, fun times they're gonna have. :-) Their debut for the label, Party Animals, will be released in February. Again, Congratulations to Ministry Of Love for finally getting signed. Gives me hope that a record label out there might actually 'get it'.

Yeah, First Friday tonight. I'm thinking about going down to see Pigasus and The Dirty Somethings tear shit up, but I dunno if that's gonna happen. Obligations, ya know? ;-) Tomorrow night it's all about The People's Whiskey / The Dirty Panties / The Quitters @ the Motor City Cafe, after I take care of some personal business in the morning. I don't have anything to do on Sundays now that football is over for me. :-( I was gonna go to a birthday party but it got cancelled, so, anyone wanna hang out and jam on Sunday? heh heh heh Everything is updated, I finished off all the Pictures for 2011, with the last sets being from The People's Whiskey, The Mapes and the Naked City Romeos. You can find them all to the side here. I also added all the photos to the Me And My Me And My Me And My Me And My Me And My Friends page as well as the Vegas - The City I Live In page too, which is weird, because those pages get a lot of views for some reason. I can't imagine why. ;-)

My head hurts. I mean, really hurts. My back too. I can hardly move or lift my arms, and there isn't a sink in my house that doesn't have vomit in it. I've been pissing blood for 7 days now and I really don't care. These past few days have been soooooooo worth it, and to end it yesterday at Casa de Amoroso, sitting poolside amongst Friends and Family, was just the perfect ending for a good run of days. A really, good run of days. :-)

Bad Brains gig? Rats. I was gonna go, I really was. I was on the Guest List and everything (Thanks Tyson!), but I had Loud Pipes practice, so I decided to play music with my friends as opposed to watching my friends play music. Once I was finished practicing, I was in no condition to go to the gig so I decided to head home and watch Game 4. We killed them 6-3. :-) I only ran into 3 people who said the Bad Brains were good. Everyone else said they sucked, or that it wasn't worth the $35 to get in. I don't blame them. Last time I saw the Bad Brains it cost me $15 to get in, and they were opening up for the Ramones at the Hollywood Palladium.

The Manic Hispanic / Loud Pipes gig on Friday was in-fucking-amazing! LOL Whoever said that Diablo's sucked needs to be kicked in the vaa-jay-jay. That place was rad! It was weird being treated like Kings, with an endless supply of Food and Booze being foisted upon us, but I got used to it after like 2 or 3 minutes or so. ;-) Great to see so many Friends there, and weird not seeing Hank or the Captain there when we played. Shame on you 2! Manic Hispanic were fantastic, playing a great mix of the Classics (Big Heinas, Uncle Chato's Garden, Wasted, Rudy Cholo) and some unreleased songs I haven't heard them play in years, covers of songs from bands like the Bad Brains and the Ramones. Just an incredible set from them, as usual. They deliver nothing less each and every time they play. It was great seeing Gabby up on stage with the band. Almost didn't think I'd ever see that again. Afterwards it was off to Viva were, well, let me put it this way. I have never seen such a massive gathering of Mediocrity, Lameness and Douchebaggery in my Life. Just areas full of Tools and Sheep and Poseurs, all trying to out Happy Days each other. Ghey. I had to see it to verify it myself, but Viva sucks. It's just pathetic now. Gawd Damn. What happened to that thing?

Sat. had me heading up the mountain to converse with the Tibetan Monks to be told what a bad person I am, all after getting virtually no sleep the night before. I tried going to the Car Show at Viva, but after nearly having a heart attack at how much they wanted to get in there, I passed on checking it out. Elvira was there giving away autographed head shots, but I was waaaaay too drunk/hungover to be standing in a 5 mile long line to get one of those, so I left. I spent the best part of the afternoon with a friend at the bar she works at, drinking beers and eating pizza, having girl talk and gossiping. :-) I went home to watch the Sharks game, fully planning on going to the Anti-Viva gig @ Meathead's right afterwords, but I passed out in the middle of the first period. Good thing too, as we got slaughtered by the Kings. SLAUGHTERED. Glad I missed it.

Easter Sunday I woke up mid-afternoon and raced down to Jesse and Roxie's to partake in Birthday celebrations for one of my favorite people, Miss Roxie. Walking into a home filled with Friends and Family was just the cure I needed for my mental and physical recovery. Beer and Cake are one of the best combinations EVER!. That's one of the many things Roxie and I have bonded with over the years, and spending the day with her and everyone else was just the perfect ending to a great run of mind numbing, physically draining, drunken, drugged out debauchery. I also heard the new Pigasus recordings (wowsers!) while I was there and heard of the new Unfair Fight recording. Both are guaranteed to blow minds. Gawd damn it's gonna be a great year. :-)

Everything's updated. Game 6 is about to begin, and my phone is blowing up with shit talking Kings fans. I'm hoping that the Sharks can wrap this up so we can move on to Round 2. I'm not too optimistic that's gonna happen, but I remain forever optimistic. GO SHARKS!!

Sooooo... the Mapes gig... Epic or what? LOL And what about Black Fag, huh? Yeaaaaahhhhhh... hahahahaha

Having no car is a bit of a drag, but that just means that I can get more stuff done, a little bit around the house being domestic but the majority of my time is spent in band rehearsal as of late, and it's killing me. I don't mention it that much but the Loud Pipes have a gig with Manic Hispanic this Fri. @ Diablo's Cantina, and to say that there isn't a deep feeling, kindred spirit between the two bands is unfathomable. We as a band would see Manic Hispanic religiously, probably before YOU found out about them, and there wasn't a Loud Pipes Tour or road trip taken that didn't have some of their degradingly brilliant music as the soundtrack to all the madness. But we never played a gig with them, which is a bit odd. Well, that's all changed now, because like I said, this Friday, that's all getting taken care of. The Loud Pipes will have the Luck to be opening up for Manic Hispanic. This should be fun. Hope to see a bunch of you out there, and not just the people hitting me up to get on the Guest List! LOL If you don't make this one, you're an idiot, but you can always catch us at our next gig, which is forthcoming. I don't know if the Loud Pipes are back for good, or if this is just some temporary thing for shits and giggles, but it doesn't matter. I'm just enjoying the ride and showing up when I'm supposed and playing the drums,  just like I always did way back then. :-)

I swear to Allah that if San Jose does not beat the gawd damn L.A. Queens that I am going to cut my fingers off so that I never type a good word about them again! LOL I don't care really if we stay our usual consistent selves and choke in the playoffs, but just not to L.A. - anyone but L.A. I can barely take the shit talking as it is! LOL Playoff Hockey. It really is one of the best times of the year, and you know the best part of it all? That means there's only 4 months until Football season starts! YES!!!

It's been a Drama filled Monday, but like I told my Bestie, I'm fucking Teflon, nothing is sticking to me today. I'm gonna head off to watch the Buffalo / Philadelphia game. The Prince of Drummers is a Sabres fan, so I kind of keep track on what's happening in that series so we can have something else to talk about besides what sexy beasts we are. :-) Lots of stuff going on this week - Gigs Galore! I'm avoiding Viva like the plague because, well let's face it, all that shit is GHEY and the people that go to that shit are Clowns, both in Look and Attitude. Luckily, there's lots of good gigs to keep me entertained and away from the farce that's happening at the Orleans. I fucking hate Viva. Hate it.

I felt kinda bad when I heard that Tony's pad had caught on fire and burned to the ground. I mean, the guy lost everything he owns, ya know? I fought off the urges to make jokes about how vampires and fire just don't mix and I put the thoughts of karmic retribution out of my head. I chalked it up to a bit of bad luck. But a lot of small, insignificant things happening at once sure do make you think. It's Halloween season... I believe in curses! LOL Jesse called me a bit ago and told me I should just give it up. What it is I'm supposed to give up is uncertain, but as soon as I figure it out I will let you all know. Anyways, still tweaking the look of the web site... fucking with the lay outs and stuff... pretty soon I'll be ready to start adding NEW content to this site. What a concept. I updated the Gigs Listing page (as always) and I'm adding some more of the older stuff (mostly Show Reviews pages like Manic Hispanic, Infestshit, Social Distortion). Hollywood Shane told me about a killer show this weekend in L.A. that was a benefit show for Gil T. from Top Jimmy And The Rhythm Pigs, who was recently diagnosed with cancer, and I remember him and the band fondly. Top Jimmy himself passed away right here in Vegas, and it got me to thinking. Has it really been that long? Blue Monday nights at the Cathay De Grande? Fuck! As if the wording on the new Clash DVD wasn't bad enough (25 Year Anniversary? Ouch!) Oh well... we're all getting older... Rodney Dangerfield is gone... and I think I can hear a hurricane coming on the horizon. Fuck this. I'm heading to the cellar to hide.

Syntax. It's kind of important if you wanna be a proficient writer. Nicknames are a sure giveaway as well, especially when you know the only person who called you by that nick name. The only reason why I'm babbling like this is because someone recently tried to virus me using a hotmail account and the name of someone I used to be friends with. Once I safely opened the e-mail, I recognized who wrote it by her syntax. What a strange thing to do. I mean, my virus software caught it right off the bat, but she gets an A for effort. I guess I'm that threatening to her... hee hee hee. Yeah. Anyways, it's Labor Day Weekend, and if you aren't stuck at home watching the Jerry Lewis Telethon, you should get out and do something. The weather's great, it's an extended weekend, what more do ya need? It's Pow Wow time in my neck of the woods, so that means it's time to 49 all night long and listen to tribal war songs and drink myself silly and smoke myself into a coma. Maybe this year I'll even remember to make some fry bread! LOL Next week I gotta take care of all my legal stuff that I'm currently embroiled in, but for this weekend I'm gonna forget all that and just have fun! I'd advise you all to try and do the same. The Gigs Listing page is updated, I added some Music Reviews of the latest by the Dayglo Abortions, Probot, Descendents, Of Faith And Fire and Manic Hispanic, and I added some more stuff to the Pictures page. Hope you like it, and have a great weekend!

Yeah, I know, it's been awhile since I last updated this site, but I got a lot of things going on personally, and just haven't been able to devote the time I usually do to making sure that you people have something to read... so sorry. But hey, for what it's worth I've posted The Business "Review", and you can go here to read that shit. Howard Stern was fucking great all week... I wasn't there but I'm happy that he even made it here, considering the shit that's going on with the Govt. lately. How fucked up was that beheading video? Me and Jesse watched that shit at the Club House in stunned silence... absolutely disgusting. I don't fucking believe that "conspiracy" theory that's currently being discussed on Airbag, but in any case, I say that playtime is over, and it's time we take off the kid gloves and start going after those responsible with some of that eye-for-an-eye shit that they believe so strongly in over there. Payback's a motherfucker, right? Yeah. OK, off of my political soap box and onto my Loud Pipes soap box... heh heh. The Tour is going to be fantastic! All dates confirmed, and we're gonna take the message to the people brothers and sisters... all you true believers in the pit and up front when we play... we're gonna make you proud! ;-) As for the people that don't like us, I hope that all this shit-talking is over and done with... I've got better things to do kids, like read Airbag: The Movie! LOL I love how Trav worked us into the story, with me and Pitt and Roxie being set free from Cell 138, of course... hee hee hee. Keep up the good work whoever you are. The newly re-mixed version of our LP-EP sounds fantastic... waaaaay better than the original, and is about 38:00 minutes longer than the first pressing? Gee... I wonder why... hmmmmm. Special thanx to Brookelyn & Jason from the Sin City Ghouls for all their help and assistance with the CD's. It's great to have friends like that, even if they keep black widows in jars and have rats as pets. Did I neglect to mention that the mixing for the 7" is done? Well it is, and those songs are miles better than the ones on the CD... too bad we couldn't get it done to take on the road with us this time, but hey, it'll help out on our NEXT Tour we're doing in Sept. Bloody Hell, it's a long way to the top, isn't it? Oh well. We gave a duly needed Spring Cleaning to the Club House last night... well actually Jesse & Pitt did most of the work... I played Zelda and Roxie was working on some new Press materials... busy busy busy. You should come by and check it out. The place looks great. And if not... guess we'll see you when we come back from The Road... The 3-B's Tour of 2004! Hahahahahahahah Added some Pictures and made sure that all the ones on here are working, including the Manic Hispanic ones... adjusted the spacing of the pages... changed the color scheme... added the Table Of Contents. Spring is in the air, and things are looking rosy indeed.

Not actually, but I just wanted to have an update on MY Birthday, with my favorite # as the listed time. Anyways, to say that last nights show with Manic Hispanic was amazing is like saying that the Mona Lisa is just a painting! LOL I had sooooooooo much fucking fun! Thanks to everyone that was there to help me get an early start on my Birthday celebrating. You can see all the pretty Pictures I managed to take by clicking here. Saturday's show at Balcony Lights was really good... it wasn't fun for me, but everyone said it was one of the best shows they've seen us play, so I guess I can't complain. We sold lots of merch that night, and probably would have sold more if the damn police didn't show up to shut the gig down AGAIN! Gee... I think the police might like us! LOL Or maybe they like harassing the punk kids that come to our shows. In either case, super sweet Thanks to everyone that came out to help us celebrate our LP-EP CD release party. You can read all about it right here. Sorry to Hektor and SMASH Magazine for not being able to do the Interview after the show, but we'll make up for it this week, guaranteed, so keep an eye out for our Interview in that magazine next month. And the City Life is still gonna do a story on us, but I have no idea of when. Oh well. After calling us a "Biker Metal" band, I'm not too hyped on them at the moment. Our show in Phoenix with By Death's Design got cancelled, but that's OK, since we got offered a show with Deadbolt @ The Rogue in Phoenix! What a deal! Things are going good and I can't really complain. And Thanks to Hollywood Shane for being soooooo cool and calling me on my Birthday. And Thanks to Pitt for the Mentors shirt!
