How do you know when you had an epic weekend of drunken debauchery? When you wake up in the front seat of your car soaked in your own vomit! hahahahaha Oh man did I have such fun this weekend. Missed the State Streets @ Boomers, missed Social Distortion @ the HOB, missed Unfair Fight @ LVCS, and even missed the Wailers @ the HOB on Sunday, all events I was planning on going to, but the bottle was a calling my name, and I answered that call each and every time I heard it! LOL I saw the football games this weekend, and I don't know how Chicago choked as badly as they did, but it was sad to see. I'm glad the Jets lost, because their Coach is just the personification of a stereotypical pompous know it all sports fan jerk. Now that his team is out of it, he can go back to making foot fetish videos with his wife... hahaha I went to another Wranglers game, thanks in part to my heterosexual life mate Jeremy, which was in-part an Aluminum Falcon band meeting, where we ironed out some issues and cleared the air about things coming up and going on. I'm glad we did. Time to start playing more gigs, both here and in other states, and no, we're not gonna call our little weekend jaunts a Tour, like most of you gay bands here in Vegas do. So, so lame when bands do that. Just stop it already - UGH!!
Speaking of things coming up, I fucking WISH I could tell you about all the awesome things I've heard about some incredible gigs coming up, and about what I know is a fact about Punk Rock Bowling, but I can't. Not yet anyways... heh heh heh You people are going to lose your shit - trust me. :-) I know there was something else I wanted to tease on here, but damned if I can remember any of it right now. Tonight is that Give / Devotion / Ruined Tongue gig, which is supposed to be pretty good, but I'm not gonna be there. I would go but unfortunately, I'm gonna be cleaning up the puke I sprayed all over the inside of my car. How did vomit end up in my wallet?? LOL
YES! Had a great time @ the LVCS last night opening up for the Cobra Skulls, who are some really nice guys to hang with. Good to see so many people I haven't seen in a while too in attendance. Playing Aluminum Falcon songs was a lot more easier without a damn Star Wars costume on, that's for sure, and the lies / words of praise everyone gave me about the music were all very appreciated. Mucho Thanx! For those of you who missed it, here's the first 2 songs we played - Go! and Alone. I have no idea who shot the video, but Thank You for doing so.
And another song called Freedomland...
And here's some more footage of us doing a song called Darling Runaway and Coolidge by the Descendents. Tyson keeps posting them, so I'll keep on sharing them! ;-)
Not bad for only our 2nd gig! LOL N.J. Pete shot a video with his iPhone of our last song, Battle Lines, but he sent it to me in a text message, so I couldn't post it on here unfortunately. Maybe later? Who knows. Like I said, it was a great time. Sucks for you if you weren't there. The Happy Campers were pretty good, and the Cobra Skulls rocked everyone in the place. If it wasn't for those attention starved whores riding the mechanical bull after the gig was over, it might of been an amazing night! ;-) Yeah, the end of the night was a bit of a let down, wasn't it boys?
Yeah, there's all sorts of crazy gigs coming up this week, starting off with Madball @ Area 702, Social Distortion like, all weekend at the HOB, RX Bandits, Weezer, Unfair Fight, the Mapes, Caravels, Hell, the Wailers are even playing on Sunday, so if you're feeling Irie, you can get your Reggae on!! Just get off your ass and go see some bands!
I felt kinda bad when I heard that Tony's pad had caught on fire and burned to the ground. I mean, the guy lost everything he owns, ya know? I fought off the urges to make jokes about how vampires and fire just don't mix and I put the thoughts of karmic retribution out of my head. I chalked it up to a bit of bad luck. But a lot of small, insignificant things happening at once sure do make you think. It's Halloween season... I believe in curses! LOL Jesse called me a bit ago and told me I should just give it up. What it is I'm supposed to give up is uncertain, but as soon as I figure it out I will let you all know. Anyways, still tweaking the look of the web site... fucking with the lay outs and stuff... pretty soon I'll be ready to start adding NEW content to this site. What a concept. I updated the Gigs Listing page (as always) and I'm adding some more of the older stuff (mostly Show Reviews pages like Manic Hispanic, Infestshit, Social Distortion). Hollywood Shane told me about a killer show this weekend in L.A. that was a benefit show for Gil T. from Top Jimmy And The Rhythm Pigs, who was recently diagnosed with cancer, and I remember him and the band fondly. Top Jimmy himself passed away right here in Vegas, and it got me to thinking. Has it really been that long? Blue Monday nights at the Cathay De Grande? Fuck! As if the wording on the new Clash DVD wasn't bad enough (25 Year Anniversary? Ouch!) Oh well... we're all getting older... Rodney Dangerfield is gone... and I think I can hear a hurricane coming on the horizon. Fuck this. I'm heading to the cellar to hide.
It wasn't funny when it was first told to me, but hours later I'm laughing at it. Seriously. If you go to The Loud Pipes message board, you can find some really amusing stuff posted there about me. It's also very slanderous and very libelous, but we'll get to that later. So after everyone and their mother is telling me about this stuff being posted and commented on about me, I check it out after a bit. I'm a little slow on the uptake, but I didn't get the poll or the title of the post. I haven't bothered going to their website in months. Hell, I only found out about the Thrasher Magazine interview being out while me and Debra were shopping at Albertson's one night, so I haven't been keeping up on what my former band has been up to. If it wasn't for Brendan from Absent Minded and Brian from Infestshit, I wouldn't even know they were playing a few upcoming shows. But then, I run into some people I haven't spoken to in a while, and they told me that THEY were the ones who posted it. The funny part is that someone edited what they originally posted, which was something along the lines of Roxie and her oral talents. So instead of just deleting the post, someone edited it to slag me off, and it lead to troubled waters. Funny huh? That people who said they were my friends just turned on me and didn't even have the decency to allow me to explain or defend or just outright dismiss any qualms and tribulations they had about me. What pals. Oh well, like I said, I think it's really funny... sorry if you don't think so. I guess the moral of the story is, people who believe that bullshit posted about me are no longer my friends, and the people who know me don't believe a word of it and are still my friends. Oh well. It's all in the Lawyers hands now... heh heh heh. Anyways, new stuff posted on the Music Reviews page (Social Distortion - Green Day - The Killers - The Hives - Guttermouth - IMA Robot), my Message Board is up and running, and there are some cool shows happening this week. Go to the updated Gig Listings page for all the details. Hope everything is going well with you... I know it is with me!
YES ! I do believe that we're coming even closer to getting this recording released. It's scheduled to be in your grubby lil' paws sometime around Valentine's Day, if not sooner, and it would make a great gift for someone that you care about. Hell, it makes for good background music to fuck by... all that Loud Pipes noise will cover up your grunts and groans as you have sex! Hahahaha Social Distortion was lots of fun on Tuesday... you can see the Pictures here, and you can read about it here. Major thanks to The Missing 23rd for inviting us to the gig...we should get together and play a show soon. Oh yeah, the Yaphet Kotto Show Review is up here, and I posted some pictures of The Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower on a new Balcony Lights Photo page, which can be ogled at here. I was gonna go to the opening of Sultan's Table, the new all ages place here in town, but I was told by a few people that this Emo show happening there was gonna be lame, so I stayed home and watched The Chappelle Show instead, which was sooo fucking funny... The Niggar Family... lol. Anyways, there's lots going on this weekend... it's only 9 more days until our show with Knife Fight & Street Trash, and I can only hope that this good show is as packed with kids as that lame Yaphet Kotto show was. One can only dream...
Fucking ten million things going on at once, so let me just spit some thoughts at you as they come to me, OK? The Agent Orange - D.I. Show Review is up... click here to read that. Some more Pictures of both bands, as well as some pix of Anti-Flag are posted on this page here. The Loud Pipes have a plan to FINALLY finish the recording session and to at least have an official demo available to you all for our upcoming shows with By Death's Design in Arizona and the Supersuckers show at the Boston and the Sub/Hum/Ans show at the Huntridge, which nobody in charge over there seems to know anything about. But the show is listed on the Sub/Hum/Ans web site, so I guess it's a go. It's been days later and I still can't believe how terribly boring that Yaphet Kotto show was at Balcony Lights... you Airbag kids need to re-define the terms "amazing live band" and "mind blowing show"... heh heh heh. The Loud Pipes Club House is officially closing real soon... and I'm not quite sure why, but oh well. We're all going to some invite-only show tonight with Social Distortion and The Missing 23rd @ The Beach, and I know that it's gonna be FUN! Chicks in bikinis! Woo Hoo!
