Well, I had some time off, since Aluminum Falcon didn't practice yesterday, so I fucking relaxed and did fuck all. I watched cartoons and listened to Nick And Artie. I cleaned my house. I made tacos and rice. Yeah, this practice thing last week was a bit hectic, to say the least, but I think all the hard work payed off, because every band I was trying out with and jamming with liked me, so yeah, go me! LOL I'm gonna be filling in for Bingo Billy in Guilty By Association for a bit, until his torn ACL heals up and he's able to get back behind the kit. GBA has some big shows coming up, like the D.I. gig for Punk Rock Bowling, the Swingin' Utter$ gig @ the Bunkhouse (I think) and some gig just outside of Denver with The Black Pacific at some skate park or someplace like that, I dunno. I'm just the drummer. Nobody tells me anything, and that's just fine. :-) It's a beautiful day today. I think I'm gonna go hang around outside somewhere. Everything's updated. I just added the photos that Skateboard Bob took of Aluminum Falcon playing at the Motor City Cafe like, months ago, click here to see them, and I don't remember if I even mentioned those Die Laughing pictures I took when they played their going away party. Click here to check those out. I wish I would of gotten more pictures of the band playing, but I didn't charge my camera battery, and it died during the bands set. Booooooooo. Well, hopefully they can get back together, either here or in California, and I'll shoot them up something proper. Get their new CD if you haven't already. That thing is face shredding. The band's Facebook page is right here. :-)
There is sooo much going and and sooooooo much I wanna let you all in on, but until everything is set in concrete, I'm just gonna keep my mouth shut and say mums the word for now... it's been a long time coming. The future's so bright... WTF happened at the Take 1 gig this Friday past? Apparently, Take 1 has a bouncer there that needs an outlet for his steroid rage or something. Glass was broken, a huge drunken melee broke out, and now there's no more punk gigs to be had there. Phooey. New Music Reviews on the latest from Nomeansno, Resilience, Supersuckers, New York Dolls, the Riot This / Bruise Violet split, Sky Blue 72, Enemy 13, Clusterfux, Venom and last but not least, Infestshit. Click here to read them all. Band wise everything's going great. I think we found our 2 guitarist, but I'm not sure yet. Infestshit has a couple of shows coming up that might peek your interest. Oct. 8 @ Community Of Friends record store with my good buddy Ben and his band of street fighting men False Cause, Oct. 21 @ The Cooler Lounge with Vegas legends F.S.P., False Cause and Dirty Sanchez, and Oct. 28 with Vice Squad and Enemy 13, from El Paso, TX. Come out and witness the intensity those guys bring. Fuck. I've been tweaking the Photos page, since a few people were complaining about not being able to find photos on there, and about some of the links not working. The layout is different now, so tell me if you like it. I also re-edited some lost photos and added them to the page, including some pictures of Suite 666, The Wastrels and the Swing Shift Side Show, which I think were never used before. In any case, click here to check them out. More to come.
It's been a week of laughter and story telling and drinking my ass off. From different people, places and faraway cities, I've been hearing various amusing antidotes about my ex-band mates. I'd tell you some of the funnier ones, but I don't want anyone (male or female) to phone me and threaten to beat me up again. I've been laughing too much this week as it is. I have a great reason for not going to the Supersuckers show on Wednesday... the reason why is that Senor Pitt had stopped by my house to say goodbye to me. He's moving to Philadelphia, and I am bummed. Not because he's moving, but because we didn't get to spend more time together in these past few months because of all the Jesse/Roxie drama. He seemed a lot happier, and the way he was talking about Beth and the city in general has me thinking this is the best thing for him. Me and Pitt were always the closest in the band. In San Francisco, when everyone was in a bad mood, me and him hung out and walked around and ate lunch and just had a great time by ourselves. Pitt was the one who would drunkenly tell me on tour about how great Guns 'N' Roses were and how they influenced his life, knowing damn well that I HATE that band. And he would usually tell me this shit when I was trying to get some sleep! Pitt was my drinking partner. Those photos on the opening page were taken in the green room of the Huntridge when me and him lost our minds on drink and drugs. It's one of many great times we had. Me and Pitt always ended the night/morning of the Tour together having a last smoke and drink, talking and laughing about what a great time we were having and how lucky we were to be touring. It was me and Pitt who had Tony and Hank laughing and not worrying about a thing when Roxie was acting like a psycho bitch in Livermore. It was me and Pitt who would play covers of classic punk songs when no one else wanted to practice anymore. It was me and Pitt who would write songs that The Loud Pipes never wanted to play, but we knew them like the back of our hands. Yeah man... lots of good memories. I'm glad he stopped by before he left and that we had a great time together. He had such a great time at my house that he ended up passing out in the van! LOL I'm gonna miss that ugly bastard, but I promised to stop by and see him on my way to Europe in a few months. Anyways, I gave the whole website a new look, thanks to Debra's input and influence. I gave the Links page a new look, updated the Gig Listings page, and put absolutely NOTHING new on here. What a deal. And remember Pitt... there's no word in the Indian language for the word good bye. What we say is... until we meet again...
Hee hee hee... I just had the best talk with my bro Hollywood Shane just a bit ago, and it put me in a better state of mind. Not that I wasn't in a good state of mind to begin with, but he just elevated me to a complete other level. Besides our swapping of some Idle Gossip, we made plans to hang out there when I'm in L.A. next month and to see some shows when I'm in town. That man is a bleedin' nutter and I love him to Death. It was a weekend of talking to old friends, which is why I was in such a good mood. Even though the theme of every discussion was What happened with you and the band?, it was still nice to just reminisce about days gone by. Anyways, the Supersuckers show is this Wednesday, hope to see you all out there. I posted 3 new Reviews (Green Day and Rudimentary Peni and the Clash), and other than that everything is peachy keen. Thanks to the new people who have joined up to the onethirtyeight.org Myspace group, and thanks to everyone that IM's me or sends me the emails... it's always nice to know who your friends are. I'm gonna be posting up some old Interviews that I've done (the first one is gonna be with Guttermouth), since I wanna get back into doing some more of that stuff. I have some bands in mind here in town that I wanna talk to in depth, so don't be surprised when my request comes your way. And to the bands that want me to drum for them... well... I'm still thinking about it...
It has been sooooooooooooooo hard to get all the stuff I wanted to up on the website, but it's almos done, and I hope that you all enjoy it. The best part has been looking at all the Pictures and remembering all the fun I've had. Click here to see The Loud Pipes En Mexico, and click here for the Review of the Deadbolt show, and click here to read about the shenanigans in Tucson (pronounced TUCK-son) with Nate, Bob and Jesse. Seriously, I cannot thank those dudes enough. You people have no idea of how cool these trio of fine looking gentlemen are, but hopefully, someday you will. Jesse The Super Roadie took some GREAT Pictures of us playing @ Skrappy's, and you can click here to see those awesome pix. Hollywood Shane is alive and well. I finally talked to him, and our good buddy Jon-E is supposed to be coming into town for the Supersuckers show, and staying for the Sub/Hum/Ans show as well, which is now officially @ Jillian's. We don't have a guest list, so you people better get there early for that show, since there's no pre-sale available, it's first come, first served. Anyways, most of the crap is up... it's late, and I gotta get some sleep before the Supersuckers show. Hope to see you all there!
Fucking ten million things going on at once, so let me just spit some thoughts at you as they come to me, OK? The Agent Orange - D.I. Show Review is up... click here to read that. Some more Pictures of both bands, as well as some pix of Anti-Flag are posted on this page here. The Loud Pipes have a plan to FINALLY finish the recording session and to at least have an official demo available to you all for our upcoming shows with By Death's Design in Arizona and the Supersuckers show at the Boston and the Sub/Hum/Ans show at the Huntridge, which nobody in charge over there seems to know anything about. But the show is listed on the Sub/Hum/Ans web site, so I guess it's a go. It's been days later and I still can't believe how terribly boring that Yaphet Kotto show was at Balcony Lights... you Airbag kids need to re-define the terms "amazing live band" and "mind blowing show"... heh heh heh. The Loud Pipes Club House is officially closing real soon... and I'm not quite sure why, but oh well. We're all going to some invite-only show tonight with Social Distortion and The Missing 23rd @ The Beach, and I know that it's gonna be FUN! Chicks in bikinis! Woo Hoo!
OK... a few things worth mentioning are the upcoming shows... one this Saturday @ Doggystyle with The Shaws / Jr. Anti-Sex League / Chemical Ex, which Tony tells me is some all girl band that reminded him of Depeche Mode, so it should be an interesting night. Our other big gig is on MY birthday weekend, and if you didn't see the flyer for our show with Knife Fight and Street Trash @ Balcony Lights on the way in here, well then you need to lay off the crack pipe, buddy! As far as I know, our show with the Supersuckers is still at the Boston, and I have no idea what's up with the Sub/Hum/Ans show @ The Huntridge, but it should be FUN! I posted a few more Reviews... and some more Pictures to my never ending collage... updated the Gigs Listing... and that's about it. Oh yeah... anyone interested in being put on my mailing list, please send me an E-mail to ge138@onethirtyeight.org with all your information, and I'll add you to my semi-regular mailings... which will be sent out just to let you know what's going on here in onethirtyeight land, and as well as keeping you updated on The Loud Pipes and all the shit that we do. Hope to see you all at the show on Saturday!!!
OK... not a lot to say... but that's only because I've been super busy with personal stuff. I finally got a house to call my own, and all I can say is that it's about time! It's the only thing I wanted for Christmas! I live right across the street from Devon, so I'm gonna be going over there and throwing rocks through his window real soon... heh heh heh I posted some Reviews (finally) about the latest releases from T.S.O.L., Supersuckers, Mummies, New York Dolls, Foo Fighters, R.H.C.P. and Speedealer. I have no idea what's happening with The Loud Pipes... I don't know if the demo is done, or if anything was gonna be done with The Troubadour live tape. I don't know if we have a tour to do in February... and I don't know about any upcoming show dates we may be playing (like the Sub/Hum/Ans gig @ The Huntridge). All I know is that I don't know nothing... and that's fine. Has it really been a whole year since I first played with The Loud Pipes? When Spencer was rubbing his package on my head while we played some Internet music show? Wowsers... lots has happened since then, and hopefully lots more will happen soon. Happy New Year everyone!!!
