Uhhhmmm... so exactly what happened at that Orgy show anyways? LOL

It's been a very draining weekend, to say the least. Doing stuff not website related is much more appealing right now than anything else, but I had to sit down and post these Pigasus photos up - click here to check them out. I'm always curious as to what people do with the pictures they take at gigs - I rarely see any of them - but there's been a lot of photos being shared on Facebook from Pigasus' last gig @ the Motor City Cafe, so I thought I'd jump on that bandwagon and get my photos around before I forget about them. :-) I'm gonna get those pictures of the other band that played that night, The Swamp Gospel, up ASAP. That band is comprised of some real heavyweights. It features ex-Muffs, Tommyknockers, and Dirty Babies! Their Cramps derived sound was pretty cool to hear, and I'm looking forward to seeing them again. Everything's updated. Happy Birthday to Annie, Eric from the Naked City Romeos (his birthday gig is this Saturday I think) and my favorite Homosexual Pitt, who I made a special cake for. ;-) Enjoy!

The beauty of re-publishing everything to these new servers is re-reading some of the earlier stuff and going, WTF was I thinking? LOL It's also a fun trip down memory lane filled with good times and good friends, some of them still with us, and some of them not. It's funny how Life takes us in the directions it does. When I read those early Idle Gossip postings and Show Reviews that I did, I utterly failed at transcribing what a great feeling it all was, hanging out with your friends, doing stuff together, the camaraderie, the fun times, all of that. I wish I would of written more. I wish I would of went into great detail about everything I saw, was involved with, whatever. Failed opportunities. Whatever. All the early Idle Gossip postings are up. Just go under the Archives heading down and to the left of this posting and click on a month / year and voila! You're magically taken to that page! Isn't technology wonderful? Read them if you are so inclined. The first Show Review I ever did for this website was for the Dirty Babies / The Loud Pipes / Hank Musgrove & The Mother Fucking Maniacs / Back And To The Left @ The Skillet Cafe, and you can click here to read that one. There's nothing written about the Loud Pipes in it, because I wasn't yet comfortable giving comment on our performances. Boy, did that quickly change. :-) The next 2 Show Reviews happened back to back on my Birthday weekend, and those were the Circle Jerks / G.B.H. / Toxic Narcotic / The Daycare Swindlers @ The Huntridge Theater gig (which you can read by clicking here) and the Agent Orange / Ill Repute / Hollywood Hate / The Bad Samaritans / Lust / Thunderfist @ The Cooler Lounge gig, which might have been for an early incantation of Punk Rock Bowling, but I'm not sure. Click here to read that one. They're short, nothing like the Raga's I post now. ;-) Last but not least, the Show Review of the Hank Musgrove & The Mother Fucking Maniacs / In Control / Panda Blaster / P.S.T. @ The Hammer House gig, which you can read by clicking here. Ahhhh memories, you gotta love them.

I'm also finding and re-formatting all sorts of old pictures, some of which I found on the Internet, because I lost the originals years and years ago! Working with the new website format is just a dream to post photos with. You can add captions to them as well, which I find really neat. Read my smart alack remarks while browsing the pictures! LOL First ones to get the new treatment were the Pictures of Ainjil's Birthday Party @ Last Chance Tattoo. Click here to check them out. Anything involving Booze, Cake and Silly String is something I have to be a part of! LOL More photos will be given the treatment soon. I'm jazzed on doing stuff for the website again. :-)

I got this from Jason of the Mapes, who posted it on his Facebook page. As if you needed more of a reason to attend First Friday, right? LOL If you're going you might wanna check this out.

Drink enough free beer and you too can fly just like these guys!!
Free beer tasting! 25 cent comic books! Guess where I'll be before the Black Fag gig? LOL The Mapes are playing Boomer's the same night, and I wish I could be there, but... well, you know. :-) It sucks that I have to make a choice, but I've been in contact with Black Fag's singer Liberace Morris himself, who tells me that he won't even take the stage if he doesn't see me front and center with my camera in my hand, so, it's like, I gotta be there! LOL The Mapes will play again somewhere soon (I hope), and I will see them then, because I'm badly in need of a Mapes fix, but who knows when, or even if,  Black Fag will come back to Vegas? LOL This could be the performance that permanently bans them from ever playing our city again. See ya there!

a fab-u-lous time is guaranteed, daaahhrlink!

Finally. The last of the Drunken Debauchery stuff is up, including the photos of the Clusterfux, A Pretty Mess and Riot This. All the Links can be found to the right of these here words. The 3rd, and last, installment of the Infestshit Tour Pictures are up as well. Community Of Friends is a D.I.Y. Punk Record store that has recently opened, and you should all support it or fuck off. Click here to go to the Myspace page and learn all about it. This record store already has Hank's creepy stamp of approval, so it must be the shiz-nit. The art performance warehouse that Keil from the Vulcans has opened up is called The Louvre, and it's Myspace page can be found here. The High End Mystery Emporium had a great opening night I heard, so go here to their Myspace page and keep abreast of what those guys are up to. Fucking awesome that Vegas is suddenly getting alternatives to the usual stops on the local bar / club circuit. Better to play a record store / art space / warehouse than a smelly, smoky bar. Brian Infestshit is organizing a local benefit for Spike from D.R.I. to help pay some of the guitar players recently acquired medical bills, and is looking for bands to play the show non-gratis. Hit him up here to see if you can play, or to just offer to help out in whatever way you can. Who doesn't own a D.R.I. album, right? D.I. is playing The Cheyenne on Sat. with one of my fave local bands False Cause, so go out to the gig and buy Ben lots of shots of Jack. It will be a better show if you do. Las Vegas' # 1 Party Band 1/2 Ast are playing a kick ass LOCALS ONLY show on the 18th @ Take 1 with the Peccadilloes and False Cause. That show is not to be missed. F.S.P. are getting back together again and are playing on the 19th @ The N.Y. Cafe with Vermin From Venus and Lethal Injection. It's deja vu all over again. Go to these gigs and show support for YOUR scene, both old and new. Jupiter Shifter needs a drummer. The only requirement is to eat a bag of dicks from Rob Ruckus every now and then. Go to their Myspace page here if you can hang with the hardest working bass player in Las Vegas. Speaking of Jupiter Shifter, someone stole Kei's P.A. head and Brew's (ex-Dirty Babies) bass amp. Keep your eyes peeled for anyone selling stuff that matches that description. Payback is a mother fucker.

Finally. It seemed like it would never happen, but we played our first show Sat. night @ the Double Down and it was a BLAST! I'm still not sure what happened to Misty's amp (it just didn't wanna work for some reason) but the general consensus seemed to be that we did OK, considering it was our first show and all. Look for a write up on it later this week. I'm so sick of being sick that it's not funny. Anyone out there have a cure for Stage 2 Pneumonia? Drop me a line and let me know ASAP please. So.........I posted a Show Review on Rick's 12 Band Fiesta @ the Cooler Lounge with the Peccadilloes, Vegas Dogs, the Dirty Babies and the Luv-Taps, and you can go here to check it out. The Pictures I took that night can be viewed by clicking here. I want to give special hugs and kisses to Brookelyn, Brew and Misty for making playing music fun for me again. I had such a great time that I can't wait to do it again (this Sat. in Boulder City with the Black Jetts... plug plug). Anyways, I'm outta here. Got lots of personal stuff to do.

Damn... your computer crashes and look at all the fun you miss out on. I totally spaced on going to see Bullet Train To Vegas this past weekend. Boooooo! I was so busy re-installing and configuring my computer (and lamenting the loss of some of my data files) that I completely forgot about that band playing. I hate when that happens. Factor into that equation the fact that I'm sick as a dog and you'll get an idea of where my head is at, which is heavily sedated and very medicated. Lots of people have complimented me on my Tag Message Board, and I see that Jesse even posted something on it. I'm flattered that he even bothers to check my web site out. The last time I went to his bands web site it was a train wreck of a mess. Nothing worked, the pictures sucked and Roxie was posting to herself on the Message Board. D00D, here's the news flash that I know you missed out on:

I'M NOT MAD ABOUT BEING KICKED OUT OF THE LOUD PIPES

There it is for you, in nice bold 14 point font. Get over it yourself. If I believed everything that everyone has been telling me about you Jesse, I'd have an even lower opinion of you than I already do. I could make a business out of correcting inaccuracies and myths being perpetrated about me and the band, but what for? I don't care, and anyone that has bothered to talk to me knows this is how I've always felt about the deception from the beginning. Ask Tony. Ask Pitt. This is all so funny, isn't it? I wasn't upset when they told me, nor was I upset when you told me a few days later. Why I can still remember how you begged me to join your band, promising me that you'd buy me a drum set, pay me to play gigs and just generally doing anything you could to get me to play with you. How many times did you tell me I was the best drummer you ever played with. Do you remember all that Jesse? And you think I'm upset over getting kicked out of the band? Sorry but the answer is no. You needed me buddy, not vice versa. Phooey. The fact that I dedicated even this much space to addressing this topic is idiotic. Go about your business and I'll go about mine, and never the two shall meet, OK? OK. Good luck playing with Brendan from Absent Minded on guitar, good luck with your 'real' job, good luck with getting to out of state shows without Pitt's van, and good luck raising the money to go to New Orleans. I posted a new Music reviews page, some old (The Half Empties, Sin City Ghouls, Descendents, Dirty Babies), some new (Agnostic Front, Sum 41, Elvis Costello and the In Honor compilation), all equally vapid and devoid of thought. I also updated the Links page, as well as added some old Show Reviews that I found lying around (Infestshit / The Heart Attacks @ Balcony Lights being my favorite). Loads of good shows coming up this weekend and next week... hope to see you all at some of the gigs.

To even attempt to begin to tell you what an influence the Ramones were on my life is a waste of energy. It wasn't like Johnny's passing is a shock, but to contemplate the thought that there's only 1 original member left of this groundbreaking band is sure to make you feel even older than you already are. So pour yourself a drink, slap on your favorite Ramones album and just remember... don't mourn the loss, but rather celebrate the gift we were given. I've been getting a great response from people who read my last posting here. I don't really post on myspace.com anymore, since Jesse gets all "macho insecurity" on me whenever Devon tells him what I wrote. At least if they come here to read what I wrote I get counter hits! LOL But yeah, lots of people have been writing / asking questions about what happened between me and The Loud Pipes, and I thank all of you for even giving a fuck. It just trips me out that all of this vicious legal stuff has to happen. Oh well. But anyways, enough of my Drama, let's talk about some killer shows with By Death's Design @ Gameworks tonight and The Dirty Babies @ The Double Down this weekend. Check out the Gig Listings page for more info on all the things coming up here in town (as always). Nothing new posted, nothing much to say. I'm in a funk over Johnny's passing, and I'll probably be that way for awhile. Oh yeah, I heard a few things about the D.I. / T.S.O.L. show last night... and the funny part is that I'm sure it's all true... slow, sloppy and shitty... heh heh heh

OK... everything is running normally once again... although I have no idea how long it will last this time around, so lets just enjoy it for what it's worth, OK? I give you people something to read, and I get... to quote someone who shall remain nameless, a delusional narcissistic view of self-importance. Hahahahahaha... chicks... you gotta love them. Alrighty then, lets get to what's going on in the band camp... which is basically the same thing as last week, which is long hours and a huge amount of work for the Tour. We've been mailing out press packs, promo posters, flyers and other assorted goodies, printing up merch that will keep us well fed and very drunk while out on Tour, buying extras of everything we can afford to, like drum skins, amplifier tubes, strings, picks, cymbals, sticks, etc., but hopefully we won't have to use any of that stuff, cuz we're gonna be nice to our equipment and not bash into them or beat them with great vengeance and furious anger like we usually do. Yup. That's the plan anyways, but I highly doubt that it's gonna work out that way. Just like our show at Jillian's on the 27th didn't work out that way... they double booked the place, and instead of dropping the lame Emo show that's gonna draw like 20 people, they drop our show instead 'cuz we draw too many rowdy punk rock people... booooooo. Oh well, I wish them luck with their sucky show. And speaking of sucky, I posted 3 Reviews of the newest and in some cases only stuff from local faves Sin City Ghouls, The Dirty Babies and The Killers, and you can click here to go to read what I think about them. It's pure bullshit, I assure you. So uhm yeah... can't wait for this Tour to start... can't wait to see some old friends in new places... can't wait to see some new friends in old places... can't wait to see how other people react to us. Gonna be a load of fun.

First off, thanks to everyone that has responded to my mailing list. You people rock and it's nice to know that you actually read the stuff that I write about. It's not much, but it is just one side of the Las Vegas Music Scene. Second off, this thing that's going on with the whole indecency issue is getting really scary. If you'd like to know what the hell I'm talking about, just click on the Howard Stern Link I posted to the left here. Even though it's not a Howard Stern issue per say, it's really scary to see how the Government and Big Business and the Religious Right all fuck each other in the ass on a regular basis. Very incestuous indeed. And I'm glad to hear that things went well at that Infested house party. Those guys are cool and I'm glad that all the bands got to play before the cops showed up. And what was with all The Loud Pipes paraphernalia at the Extreme Thing this past Saturday ? I had friends both here and from out of town tell me that all they saw was Loud Pipes patches and pins and shirts on almost everyone there. My pal Jimmy from the planet Uranus told me "I didn't think you guys were that popular!". See butt munch, I told you! LOL Anyways, I posted a Review of the Sin City Ghouls - The Dirty Babies show @ The Cooler Lounge, I updated the Gigs page, and if I feel like it after The Sopranos and Deadwood, I might re-post some of the old Pictures I had up before, but we'll see... we'll see.
