First off, how AWESOME is this tee shirt? Seriously? :-)
I know... I know. Great color, amazeball graphic, and it was in my size too! <3 I will be sporting this shirt loudly and proudly at all gay themed events I attend and all during the upcoming summer months, because sometimes it's good to wear a color other than black. Only sometimes though. ;-) Yeah, the fucking Battle Born EP release party was pretty fantastic. Just a great vibe in the place, no Drama whatsoever, and every band that played was really good. Battle Born just killed it. Killed it! I fucking Love those guys! TheCore almost stole the show, Surrounded By Thieves played a great set, and The Fact Remains were pretty good. I dug 'em. I wrote this huge ass diatribe on here about the gig, but I'm gonna make it a Show Review instead, so as soon as I get the pix edited from the night I'll post it up here. It was a cool gig, and if you weren't there you blew it. Make up for that by going to the band's Facebook page by clicking here and buy a copy of their CD if you don't already have one. Oh, and Friend them too while you're there. Their new CD is the tits, that's all I'm saying. Oh, how I love it when bands who have lost any and all credibility and burned every bridge they possibly could here in this town try to get back together and play some gigs, like anyone gives a fuck about them. Either they can't find new people to play with them in these reunion gigs, or they just book gigs and then cancel at the last minute, which is just pathetic. Do us all a favor, you worthless piece of shit pathetic bands - quit trying to relive your 'glory days', just because your Life is a giant clusterfuck full of disappointment and regrets, you losers you. Go back to abusing the welfare system and polluting the gene pool with your retarded offspring. And take your 'Friends' with you. You should all go fuck off and die together. The Seriouslys played Favorite's on Friday, and they didn't get paid, which royally sucks ass. Considering that the fine people booking that place are the same people who used to book the Divebar, this little bit of non-payment shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who's been involved with the music scene here. I hope they make this right and pay the bands what they're due. It would be a bad thing for them not to. It's not like Favorites is drawing them in ya know. Alienating the Bands you rely on to get people into your establishment is never a good thing to do. Everything is updated. I think I'm gonna go outside for awhile. :-)
Why is it that everything happens gig wise at once here in Vegas? It's either like there's nothing going on, or there's all sorts of shit going on. Ugh! It gets a bit frustrating at times, but I guess that's how it goes. And what's with bands sending me the flyers for their gigs the day before or the day of their gig, asking me to put it up on the website, and then getting pissy at me when I don't. Fuck you! To promote a gig properly, you can't just make a Facebook invite page and spread a flyer around on there. No wonder you guys bitch about how the Scene sucks because there was only 10 people to see you on a Weds. night. Jackasses. Oh well. Anyways, the fun tomorrow is @ First Friday, of course, and that kicks off with the Seriouslys and Stagnetti's Cock playing in the parking lot of Talk Of The Town, my 2nd favorite strip club in town. ;-) What's up with the band Stagnetti's Cock? Why does everyone talk shit about them? And more importantly, why should they care? LOL The flyer says the gig starts @ 10 pm, but I don't know how that's possible, if it's really a First Friday event kind of thing. 10 o'clock is when most things are shutting down, not starting up.
If that gig is not Punk Rock enough for you, then this one definitely should fix that dilemma! LOL Also on Friday night is the 2 year anniversary of Ecophagy Records, a Local D.I.Y. record label / Distro that you should all support and buy stuff from. The people that run that label don't like me, but that doesn't mean I can't give props where props are due. :-) Like I said, they're having their 2 year anniversary party tomorrow @ Yayo Taco and Life's Torment are playing, and a bunch of other bands I know nothing about are playing as well, bands with names like Gravehill, Zoloa and Seas Will Rise. It's also the debut of a Local band called Vihan Rytmi, which is apparently Swedish for "We Kick Ass" or something. The band features Larry from Life's Torment and Adrian from Alarido, a band that broke up waaaaayyy too soon IMO. If you don't catch Vihan Rytmi @ Yayo Taco, you can catch them and Seas Will Rise and Zoloa playing later on that night @ the Double Down. It's a pretty shitty thing to do, play 2 different gigs on the same day, but since it's the Double Down, who gives a shit, ya know? LOL Fuck that place. And if this is not enough for you to do on a Friday night, the Burning Man people are, of course, burning a woman somewhere downtown, and N.E. Last Words are playing @ 8 Ball Bail Bonds, and I.D.F.I. are playing @ the Motor City Cafe with a couple of shitty loser bands, where 90% of the crowd will be outside tweeking and drinking. Plan your night accordingly. ;-)
And then there's Saturday. Start off by watching 2 Troma movies @ the Sci-Fi Center (Demented Death Farm Massacre and Redneck Zombies), and then get your ass to the Cheyenne Saloon for the Authority Zero, S.F.T. and Surrounded By Thieves gig. That is going to be fun F-U-N!! And I'm happy to say that S.F.T. has their original drummer Darryl back. :-)
And then Sunday it's all about Lagwagon / Nothington / Cobra Skulls @ the LVCS. You can get your tickets by clicking here. What? You haven't heard about that gig? Well don't worry - not a lot of people have. Hopefully people turn out for it, because all the bands are good, but if not, too bad. Promotion people, promotion. It's not a bad thing, I swear. I probably won't go to any of these gigs though, because I'm planning on attending the Wedding of Tess Fosburgh and Jesse Nabers, Super Photographer Extraordinaire on Saturday. To see this guy so blissfully happy and content with his lovely Lady Tess has truly been a trip, to say the least. They say that there is a perfect match out there for everyone, and I'm glad that these 2 found each other. Congratulations to the both of you. May your Future together be nothing but Goodness. Everything's updated. Blah blah blah...
OK - it's Official - This gig for Eric from the Naked City Romeos is happening on Friday! LOL I only know that because Emma from the Seriouslys made a flyer for the gig! :-) The Seriouslys, the Fremonts, and, of course, the Naked City Romeos (or, as Turbo calls it, the Bacon City Rodeo) will all be playing in celebration of Eric's 50th year on Earth. That's quite an accomplishment if ya ask me! Anyways, stop on by and bring the guy a gift or buy him some drinks and have fun with some of the cooler people in town, who will be both hanging out and playing on stage. And if you haven't already, head over to the Seriouslys Reverb Nation band page by clicking here and check out the songs and video they have posted on there. The songs sound killer. Where the Hell were they recorded at? Kudos to whoever mixed them. They're nice and LOUD! :-) And the video is pretty cool too. It's for a song called Kick Me Out that I can recall the band playing a few times that I saw them. The video seems to be more about the Double Down than the song, but whatever. It's still cool. Check it out below. There's this pretty cool thing going on Saturday afternoon in Boomer's parking lot. It's a Punk Rock Swap Meet/Garage Sale where Local Musicians and Artists will be selling used gear, band merch, art, photos, used household goods, crafts, jewelry, clothing and a bunch more stuff, so if you're looking for some deals then stop on by! There's gonna be some bands playing (.Bipolar / The Fat Dukes Of Fuck / Mechanical Death) and a food truck for all of you with the munchies. ;-) Or, if you don't wanna eat there, head over to Yayo Taco afterwords to see Local bands Dead Neon and Spun In Darkness playing with some heavy ass bands from Arizona with names like Godhunter, Inoculara and Blister Unit. The gig starts @ 6, so get there early to check out all the bands. You should definitely check out this gig rather than that shitty Angry Samoans gig going down @ the Cheyenne, that's for sure. I don't know how that band is even still around, and after that last gig of there's @ the Beauty Bar a while back, I don't know how they can even be comfortable playing here! LOL Give it up guys. Seriously. :-)
Everything is updated. Pictures of the Quitters were just added, and you can check them out by clicking right here. That Roddy Radiation (from the Specials) gig is happening tonight @ the Aruba, but I don't think that I'm going to that, but check it out if you're so inclined. It might be fun. :-) Have a great weekend. See ya around somewhere.
This will probably mean nothing to the majority of you out there, but for those of you who get this, you will know EXACTLY what I am talking about when I say this:
_Chuck Bresnahan MUST GO!!! OK, now that I got that off of my chest, time to focus on the Positive. I had a great time this weekend. If I hear that I'm 'beaming' from one more person I may just vomit. :-) Yeah, Fri. night @ the Motor City Cafe was fun. The People's Whiskey just fucking killed it with an intense set of songs that, as always, just blew me away. Nice to see Cody rocking the onethirtyeight.org shirt I had just given to him minutes before they played. LOL The drummer Luis is nothing short of phenomenal, and the other 2 guitarists are just ace. I could listen to this band for hours. I bought 2 copies of their new release 8 Tracks And Dub Sacks, because I figured I was gonna wear one copy thin after like 3 weeks of solid, non-stop listening! So far it's only been 3 days but damn, this CD is really, really fucking good. Holy shit balls is it good. Here's the video to one of the tracks on the CD called Tall Can. If you're ever in Hendertucky you better watch out for the Water Street Werewolf! He's been know to lurk in that area, stealing unsuspecting tall cans from intoxicated beer drinkers. ;-) _There's a song on The People's Whiskey CD called Pills that could of easily been written about my psychotic ex-wife! LOL I can tell you've been taking your pills again / And drinking vodka already, yeah... Man, can I ever relate to that sentiment! hahahaha Thank Gawd those days are over. Well, for me anyways. As for my Friend that she's hooked up with currently, all I can say is you're a stupid, stupid man. And after all the Drama you know she put me through, all the Games, all the BS, you choose to get involved with that? Man, you really are retarded, aren't you? LOL Whatever Loser. Good Luck with that. So where was I? hahaha Oh yeah, Friday night. Motor City Cafe. The Naked City Romeos were on the bill too, and they played really good (Dirk was fucking LOUD) and threw out a few new covers that I don't think any one in the place knew were covers, and they debuted a new Christmas song called Santa Is A Romeo. Fun stuff. They're a great band you should check out if you haven't already, and get their debut self titled CD because that's one excellent piece of digitally musically encoded plastic right there. I'm starting to really dig the Motor City Cafe. There's just some good people that hang out there, like Christy & Kei Tinglerz, Turbo & Kate Seriouslys, Mishelle, Skateboard Bob, and whomever else I'm forgetting. I'm always having fun there and never feeling skeeved out by the patrons or the lack of breathable air in the place. And, there's no dirty fucking hippies living in the parking lot next door to the place reporting on drug activity and drunk driving. Heh heh Yeah, I mentioned that I found some of the onethirtyeight.org shirts with the Rorschach ' We do it because we are compelled' logo on them. I found a box of them in my garage, so if you want one, just let me know. I saw mens M, L and XL's sizes only in there, so if you can't fit into any of those sizes, too bad. Just be careful when you wear them, because SOME people have very strong opinions about this website, and won't be afraid to share those rotten sentiments with you - or so I'm told anyways. :-) Sat. night I was at the Cheyenne Saloon, where they apparently don't have adequate ventilation or anything other than Miller Lite on draft to drink, and there's still plenty of onethirtyeight.org stickers still hanging around the place! LOL Guttermouth brought out all sorts of freaks and weirdos to see them play, and it was good hanging out with people I haven't seen in a while, like Eastside Joe, Carlos S.F.T. and his lovely wife, all the guys in Guilty By Association, including Nick Battle Born, who I think is their new Official Drummer - Congrats Dude! I was also hanging out and drinking with my heterosexual Band Mate for Life George, who went from being the Hardest Working Man in Business to the Smartest Gambler in Las Vegas, and Punk Rock Zack, who I haven't seen since the Vegascendents Punk Rock Bowling sojourn to Oxnard a while back. That kid and I did some serious drinking that weekend, and he used me to sneak back into the place after one of the many times he got caught in the place after refusing to pay the cover price for the gig which was a bit steep. Glad I don't pay to see Guttermouth gigs though. ;-) If you watch this video I shot on my iPhone of the last 3 songs Guilty By Association did that night, you can see Zack getting roughed up in the pit and eventually getting thrown out towards the end of the Billy Joel cover they played... UGH! ha ha ha The video on my phone came out better looking than the one I took with my hand held HD camera, so I might start shooting with that more often. It was pretty handy to have around after the batteries on my HD camera died. Yeah, Guttermouth were really good, playing a pretty much standard set of 'Hits' even after Mark promised me they were going to be playing some new songs, which he described as a bit more 'dark and mature sounding' than the stuff they usually play, which is usually about fast food chicken places, crack hallucinations or transvestite donkeys. I think I heard 1 new song played, but I'm not even sure about that. The guys in the band are all cool dudes, and hanging out with the band in the luxurious backstage area of the Cheyenne, which consisted of the kitchen area full of Booze and Drugs and fold out chairs, just brought me back to how lucky I am to have such cool people in my Life. It's always great hanging out with guys like Mark and George, good old Friends that you've known forever and share so many wonderful memories with, guys like me who were there 'back in the days' and who don't sweat the small stuff. It's really rejuvenating, to say the least. It was a fun night! And ending the night eating lemon flavored hot dogs @ the 7-11 with Sin at 4 in the morning? Priceless!! <3 One of the many things Mark, George and I were talking about was the big Goldenvoice 30th Anniversary gig happening all weekend at the Santa Monica Civic. We are all old enough to have seen pretty much all the bands that were playing the event in their prime, back in the days when they were all good and they all had their original members, so the event didn't really seem like that big of a deal. I personally didn't feel the need to make it out there for the gig, which I totally could of went to, but it's funny hearing my Friends who were there carrying on about the Black Flag 'reunion' that went on. I'm sorry to say this, but it wasn't a Black Flag reunion, despite that being the way Jerry Roach introduced it as. No Ginn, no Rollins, no Black Flag, sorry. Just seemed like a group of Friends getting together and playing some songs they like to play, songs that they helped write, putting their differences aside and just kicking out the jams, and I personally know how fun that can be. <3 Speaking of Gregg Ginn, did you see the story about how he got a bunch of Punk videos pulled from YouTube and accounts closed because they posted SST related material on there? Yeah, what a fucking dooshbag. Click here to read the story if you haven't already. Happy Birthday to Xtal, who, I think is turning the big 25 today! LOL Be careful though - once you turn 26 it's all downhill from there dear. ;-) Oh, and this is a bit of fucked up news, but apparently some Local neighborhood creeps broke into her house where her bands rehearse and stole some instruments and amps and shit, so if you see anyone selling off the Seriouslys band equipment, please, do NOT call the Police, but instead call Turbo, and he will take care of the perpetrators in a way that is fitting for the crimes in which they are partially guilty of. Yup! Fuck, I either don't write anything or I ramble on like the idiot I am and write a mini novel or something. The fucking sun is out bright and early this Monday morning, and I got stuff to do today. I updated the Gig Calendar page with a whole shitload of new stuff, and I brought back the Tag Board after Weebly did some updates that made it really easy to put it back on here. The Comments feature after every new posting on here is cool and all, but not alot of people utilize it, either because they don't know about it, or they're just too lazy to do it. The Tag Board gives that instant gratification that everyone seems to crave, so I put it back up to serve whatever purpose it may, both Good or Bad. 2012 is gonna be FUN! Wait and see! ;-) OK, I'm gonna go kipper a nap and then hit the ground running. Everything is updated, and I hope you're all in a good place, because I know that I am. <3
If I have to hear one more dooshbag football announcer say how "The Bills are for Real", or that "It's time to Bill-ieve", I think I'm gonna puke. Buffalo got majorly lucky catching Tom Brady on what was possibly the worst game of his career. Fucking Bastards. Fuck you Canadian Bills. And again, Fuck You Danny!! Enjoy it while it lasts motherfucker!!! hahahahahahahahahahahaha The Raiders looked good yesterday in beating the Jets. Sanchez had no time to be eating no hot dogs on the sideline this game... heh heh heh. People are calling it an upset. I never had doubt, but that's just me. I think the Raiders can beat anyone on any day, New England, our next opponent included. They're gonna be scary good once they get their starting receivers back. McFadden - leading rusher in the NFL - Yup! :-) And if this doesn't illustrate how out of control the Refs are in the NFL right now I don't know what does. Click here to watch the video. Where was the hold? Seriously?Criminal Trespassing? Vandalism? Really? Wowsers. You have GOT to be kidding me!!! I'm still waiting for some verification / proof, but if it's true, I'll be ecstatic to have been right about that idiot and his shitty ass Metal club. The last night of Deadhand's month long residency @ the Hypnotic Lounge came to an intimate end this past Saturday, in front of a group of Friends and Fans which ran the gamut from under age, over age, and middle age. I'll leave it to you to guess which one I was! ;-) hahahaha Deadhand played an amazing set, as always, but it was a bit awkward to see Brendan struggle with playing The Cowboy Song by Thin Lizzy, a song he's obviously bored to tears playing. Yuck. Playing covers sucks - trust me I know! hahaha Aluminum Falcon played some Descendents covers, which, of course, sucked, because we hadn't practiced them in a little while, but I think they came out OK. Bikeage and I'm The One I think. We played them for the Punk Rock kids that I saw at the last Deadhand gig @ Yayo Taco. They had come out to support, and they were jumping around and slam dancing while we played. Rad. Holding On To Sound sounded great from the outside of the Hypnotic Lounge, where I think there was more people outside just chatting and chilling than there were inside checking out the band playing. Booooooooooooooooooooooo. Oh well. There was Skittles outside. :-) It was still a fun as fuck night, with the gig ending early Da Falcon flew around the Naked City after dropping off the band equipment in search of Food, Music, Drugs, Drink, Debauchery and Guys with eye patches. We were successful on all counts. ;-) Friday night I was hanging outside of the Bikini Bar, enjoying a nice Chicago style Polish sandwich combo that I had scored from the Sausage Fest food truck, fighting off the urge to go to that Pussycat's strip club and get into trouble when my partner in crime George strolled up. After he made fun of me for eating and not drinking we ventured inside for beers and Babilos, a band that I've always promoted but never seen before, and now that I have, I gotta say they were pretty good. Old school Big 4 Metal ala early Metallica and Slayer played by a scary looking group of hombres who were either Mexican, or Indian, or Filipino or a combination thereof, just pulverizing the crowd with their brooootaaal ass Metal music. They brought out a lot of people, a lot of really good looking people, like, chicks in club attire and the Jersey Shore types they attract, who all immediately left after Babilos was done blowing the roof off the joint. Sad to see but whatever. Poor Tinglerz played right after them to a virtually empty room, which always sucks. It didn't deter them from playing a great set though, but it just would of been nice if there would of been a few more people there to see it. Six Shooters To The Sky fared a little better in the opening slot, they had a few Friends there checking them out, and after watching them play I was a bit peeved that they broke up in the first place. They are sooooooooooo fucking good!! I don't remember them being that good, but then again, I can't remember the last time I saw them before Friday. University Theater? Slanted Clam? I dunno, but it's been too long. I hope they keep it together and do something with this. I was talking to them all before they played, and I asked them why they broke up, and they all gave different answers but all typical band shit - Sex, Drugs, Money, Drama. When I asked them why they got back together they couldn't give me an answer. But it was Liz, the bass playing Goddess, who after their set came up to me and said You know why we got back together? Honestly? It was because we were bored. That sentiment is the reason a lot of the great bands did it, and Six Shooters To The Sky may become one of the great Vegas bands, that is, if they don't kill each other first. Great little gig @ the Bikini Bar last Friday. That place needs some drink specials though... OK. I've on babbled long enough. Everything's updated, new Pictures of Unfair Fight, Tinglerz and Deadhand from their gig @ Hypnotic Lounge a while back are up, and I'm just getting around to doing those Motor City Cafe photos, which started off with the Seriouslys. Those chicks are kick ass and you should check them out whenever you get the chance. Lots of stuff coming up this weekend, so check out the Gig Calendar page and plan accordingly. I think I'm gonna go grab a pastrami sandwich. :-)
Hey! Neon Reverb is in town - do you give a fuck? I don't. Shittiest bands ever playing at the cool, hip places. Phooey. If it wasn't for that Atari Teenage Riot gig happening @ the Royal Resort, I wouldn't be giving a shit about any of the Neon Reverb events. Who plans these things anyways? How do the Local bands get on these bills? I'm assuming it's all about who you know, just like everything else in this town but still. Would it be so hard to make the band line up a bit more interesting at some of these gigs? Guess so. Oh well. I posted all the shows I thought were pertinent on the Gig Calendar page. Check it out. And BTW, the only place you should be at tonight is the Hypnotic Lounge for the 2nd night of Deadhand's residency there, with Local support being provided by the Tinglerz and Unfair Fight. That's one Hell of a lineup, and if you time it right, after your face is done being melted off you can make it over to the Motor City Cafe to see the Gashers play with the Seriouslys. Yeah, Atari Teenage Riot would be nice to see, but these Local gigs are just too good to miss out on. Well, that's my plan for the evening anyways. ;-) See ya there! Viewing nuclear explosions while wearing funny eye protection can be FUN!!
Well, I'm back on top of that list. You now, the list that some people have that says 'Jump this person as soon as you see him'... LOL All for talking shit about the Divebar which, by the way, is still open. What is this, the Kiss "Final Tour Ever" bullshit? hahaha Tero from the Divebar said somewhere that they're closing because of financial reasons and for personal circumstances that got out of control. I'll leave it to you to guess as to what those personal circumstances are... heh hehThe sun is coming up on a brand new day, a day in which I went public with a new relationship on Facebook, which, apparently, is how things are done nowadays. LOL She's the best girl ever. You're all invited to the wedding. <3 It was also a day that I got to see Unfair Fight win some Battle of the Bands thing at Diablo's, and, a day in which Area 702's fight to stay alive as an All Ages venue for bands to play at came to an end. Yeah, apparently the City Council or some shit 86'd Area 702's bid to stay open, and I'm kind of mixed about it. I mean, on one hand, it sucks that Vegas loses this venue, but just like the Sanctuary, or the Farm before them, I really don't give a shit because the bands that played at all those venues were a bunch of pitiful poseur scenester bands who didn't deserve a place to play! LOL The few times I ventured into those places and observed that absolute dooshbaggery Rockstar bullshit these bands perpetrated just made me El Oh El! You would of thought these Local bands were already signed to Atlantic Records and had toured the world 3 times over with the way they were acting and carrying on. And I'm not even gonna get started on how shitty most of the bands who played there are, because that just makes me sound like 'that old guy' which I guess I am, but coming from my D.I.Y. background like I do, I just get upset that kids today just expect everything to be handed to them or done for them, while none of them take the initiative to do something themselves. Like Sal did. Sal from TheCore was telling me about this thing he started called Revive Vegas, which is basically a vehicle to set up charity shows and auctions and to help out of state bands book Local shows here, which sounds like a great thing to me. Anything anybody wants to try and do to keep Las Vegas as a viable option for touring bands to consider playing at is cool in my book, and him doing charity shows with Local bands helping those less fortunate than us just makes me wanna give Sal a big ol' sloppy hug and kiss -- with tongue! ;-) But seriously, support Sal in this endeavor. It's pretty fucking epic. If you can volunteer your time, or help out by playing the gigs, or if you have some stuff you can put up for auction, contact Sal at Revive Vegas on their Facebook page right here and let him know what you can do. Kudos to you Sal, Kudos! <3 OK, to get back to the Unfair Fight @ Diablo's story; I had no idea it was a Battle of the Bands thing until I got there. I probably wouldn't of gone if I knew it was. Thank Allah they were selling $1 Heinekens - I was double fisting all night! LOL I got there just as the first band finished, watched Unfair Fight rip through a set of new songs that I didn't recognize or never heard before (Dan later told me that they played a bunch of new stuff, which sounded amazing, BTW), and then afterwords watched this group called Clonk (or maybe Clunk?) that was made up of a bunch of angry Metal dudes (and 1 chick) playing this choppy, headbanging melodic noise while fully decked out as evil clowns, ala Slipknot or I.C.P. or some shit like that. It was interesting, to say the least... heh heh. The way they were judging who won this Battle of the Bands shit was by some sort of decibel reading machine which measured the noise of the crowd, and Unfair Fight won by, and I quote Local Show Joe here, "a nut hair" - they won by only a 1 point higher decibel point reading! Woo hoo! hahahahaha It was pretty sweet that they won, and, I think, a little bit of a shock to the guys in the band. The looks on their face were priceless! Oh well, they won $500 for their trouble and now move on to the 2nd round, and I was happy to be there to see them win it. Congratulations guys, and Good Luck in the next round! :-) Some interesting gigs happening this weekend. The Double Down will be jumping tonight with the Tinglerz and Dead Birds And Blind Kids, same with the Hard Rock Cafe where Unearth and In Shadows Embrace will be shaking the structure right down to it's shoddy workmanship foundation. If you're in the downtown area tonight, Penn Jillette And The No God Band will be playing @ the Bunkhouse for some UNLV benefit, so check that out if you're interested. I hear they play Punk covers. ;-) Also @ Artifice, Andrew Kiraly, ex singer of old school Vegas punk band Boba Fett Youth, wrote a book about those good ol' days of being a Punk and is having his book release party on Friday. Should be interesting, to say the least. He acts like he's the only one to get punched in the face for having an opinion... heh heh Saturday Surrounded By Thieves is playing with the Bogarts @ Yayo Taco, the Seriouslys are playing at the Double Down, and if you're in the mood to dance early in the afternoon, then head over to the Sanctuary to see the Remedies and Tuesday After School play some All Ages dance party. Come on, it's OK if you're the oldest guy there. Trust me, it gets easier to deal with the older you get! heh heh heh Everything is updated. Have a great weekend. I'll be at the Artifice all weekend with my new girlfriend if anyone needs me. :-) Emole, aka Bryan, one of the many ex Loud Pipes singers, is in town from San Fran - Let's party! He and I will be at Artifice on Saturday for the Bike Prom which is going on that night. Click here for more info on the event. Bicycle Prom... good grief!! What's next? Toaster Sadie Hawkins dance? Melo - good seeing and drinking and bullshitting with ya Brother! XOXOXO Good meeting your Wife as well! Keep up on that Indian stuff - it pays off I tells ya! hahaah And Hey!!! Where's that Cyanide Blues live stuff at, ya bastard? hahaha Gotta go. It's gonna be a great weekend. :-)
Cows on drugs... you gotta love that!
It's 3 am on a beautiful Tuesday morning. Howard Stern is bitching about something and I could give a shit less. I've had the most interesting past few days ever, and I'm currently in the middle of major rehearsals with 3 different bands that have me not knowing which way is up. The Loud Pipes have a gig coming up soon, same with the Vegascendents, and I got a new band that I'm pretty hyped about. Aluminum Falcon has been 'shelved', for lack of a better term, and this new band helps ease the pain of the frustration of not being able to take Aluminum Falcon to greater heights than we did. Oh well. It wasn't from lack of trying, I can assure you of that. Starting a new band is like getting a new girlfriend. It's always fun in the beginning. ;-)
I heard nothing but great things about the Zombie Prom @ the Bunkhouse on Fri. I don't know if I believe the story Turbo told me, but it still sounded fun! hahaha I love the Tinglerz and I dig the Seriouslys. I was at the sidewalk sale for Cowtown Guitars Sat. afternoon, chatting away and eating hot dogs with the 2 new owners, Jesse & Roxie, and their offspring, Gadzuki, who kept everyone on their toes by throwing around a super rubber bounce ball that everybody took turns chasing after, and by riding a scooter around for hours until he was red in the face. Gawd I love that kid. Great turnout too. Talked to a bunch of people who I haven't seen in a while, and even a few who only talk to me on Facebook - what a shock! hahahaha And it's always awkward when you see someone in person who just added you as a Friend, and they don't say a word to you -- how quickly can you say 'Delete'? ;-)
T.S.O.L. on Sat. - were you there? I wasn't, but everybody I talked to that was there said it was a great gig. I heard that Paolo and S.F.T. just killed it. I didn't go, of course, and not because it was at the Bunkhouse; I got no problem with the place, and it wasn't because of Civet, because those cunts just aren't worth the trouble of even making an effort to avoid, but I didn't go because of the Pulsar thing. Since I love the kid I'll spare him the indignity of airing our dirty laundry in public, but I will say this - I'm not the only one who thinks like this. Others are noticing, and they don't like it but Hey! What do I know, right? LOL
Yeah, nothing but shit talking going on here. I'm gonna go back to burning CD's into my music collection. People who come over to my house and see it or go through it are kind of impressed and shocked, and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. :-) Support Local Music. Be More Than A Witness. Fuck Pay To Play Bullshit, and Plan on being at this gig on Saturday!
 It's a Wedding Party!!!
Hey! It's Friday! Lots of stuff going on this weekend, like that Holding On To Sound gig happening @ the Gypsy Den tonight. They're going to play their first album in it's entirety, but since I don't have it, I can't tell you if that's a good thing or not! LOL I'm sure it will be pretty cool. TheCore are opening. I love those guys. If that's not your cup of tea, then you can head over to Talk Of The Town to see the Seriouslys and the Fremonts play in the parking lot there. Tell Treasure and Troy that I said Hi! <3 And for some cool Thomas Miller comic book artwork, head over to Jason from the Mapes new comic book store called Hellpop Comic Studios, located in the Arts Factory. Suite 222. Bring him booze and/or narcotics please. :-)
Saturday it's all about the Mighty Diamonds and Haleamano @ the Silverton. Yeah!! Pass The Koutchie! Afterwards if I'm not too out of it I'm gonna head over to the Beauty Bar to see KRS-ONE spit wicked hot fire. It's not very Punk Rock, I know, but if you wanna get your Punk Rocked and Rolled, then head over to see the Black Jetts rip shit up at the Double Down. Yup! Everything's updated. Have a great weekend. I know I will. :-)
GO TO THIS GIG TONIGHT!!
They'll be playing in the parking lot - should be fun!!
