Written by GE 138. I'm not really sure how you have a CD release party, especially since there's no CD released, but since (I believe) that the hold up is The Loud Pipes fault, I will say no more on the subject... heh heh Anyways... The Java Joint! Definitely the best smoothies in town! I had so many I was full for days afterwards! The Shaws got things going with an OK set of badly played Punk Rock that had lots of their friends goofing around with them while they played. I was too busy drinking the first of many smoothies to really pay attention to them, sorry. I do know that they played waaaayy too long though. Absent Minded are the band that really got the show started with an great sounding set of Punk Rock music that had the kids bobbing their heads and singing along to what Brendan was shouting out to them. Their drummer Adam was really good, even if he was a trying a bit too hard to put on a show, shaking his Bo Derek beaded hair around and all. But still, an awesome set from Absent Minded, who are quickly becoming one of my favorite bands here in town, and they're all a bunch of nice guys too! Stuck Naked set up quickly and started rocking the Java Joint with their NOFX / Sublime party music, and the bass player reminded me of the guy from NFG when he took his shirt off... and that's not a good thing! Playing bass and having large breasts only works for us... sorry! lol We quickly set up before curfew kicked in and played an intense set of Loud Pipes Rock N Roll! We had the kids screaming along to Insurrection... raising their fists and pumping them in the air for Wild Nights... damn mosh pit broke out during The Way... how I don't know, cuz the Java Joint is so small. Bryan knocked my entire kit down jumping up on top of it like a man possessed and knocking all my cymbals over in the process, and if it wasn't for Bobby Franks saving the day and holding my set up while Bryan was jumping on top of it, I don’t know what I was gonna do. But once he got it out of his system, it was an awesome set. Pitt and Roxie hit instruments mid-air and knocked each other out of tune... Jesse broke strings... nice chaotic set! And smoothies were waiting for us right when we were done! What more could you ask for? We took pictures, signed autographs... sold a lot of merch... great way to end a great show! Cheers to Dirty Records for a great night of Punk Rock! Woo Hoo! Can't wait to do it again when the CD actually comes out!
