Now this I like! A collection of some of the best stuff that Madness has ever released. Not necessarily the 'Hits', per se, but still their best material, stuff for us real Fans and not the Punters. Our House is nowhere to be found on here. ;-) 24 tracks of pure Nutty bliss and wonder, including 2 unreleased tracks that are covers of songs by Jimmy Cliff and some classical music pratt. The song, In The Hall Of The Mountain King, was covered by the Who on The Who Sell Out. You'd know the melody if you heard it, and Madness does a proper job covering it. Both songs, leftover from the Dangermen sessions, fit in nicely with this collection, which comes with a fold out poster suitable for wanking to and some funny ass liner notes from Chrissy Boy and Lee that had me chuckling at the absurdity of it all. To know those 2 lunatics is to Love them. <3 Yeah, there's some really killer, kind of obscure material on here, stuff that you'd really have to be a fan of the band to remember them playing some of these tunes... In The Rain, Tarzan's Nuts, Don't Quote Me On That, In The City, all standing alongside the better known material like The Prince, House Of Fun, Baggy Trousers, Grey Day, The Prince, etc., and a few head scratchers (Victoria's Garden? Really? UGH!) thrown in for good measure, with all of it sounding remixed and remastered for full sonic aural overdrive; all the original versions of the songs from the albums were used on here, no singles versions, and it sounds especially splendid at a extremely loud volume. Yeah, this is a fantastic collection of stuff from one of the best bands to ever come out of the English music scene - period, and you can never go wrong buying a collection of tunes from these guys. Never. Madness. Fuck Yeah!! Pick it up! Pick it up! Pick it up! Available from Salvo Records.
