Red Death is a band that a few months ago I never even heard of, then within a short span of time I saw them featured on NPR and Noisey, and I liked what I heard. So when I saw that they were playing OMD with The Flex I was pretty excited. When I got to OMD I learned that the venue was currently being harassed by the county. I guess Clark County is some backwards Footloose type of place that doesn't like teens dancing, so they threatened OMD with their liquor license, which is bizarre since you can't even drink where the bands are playing… if you drink a beer, you have to do it in the restaurant next door while Pops is watching you, & if you're even thinking of passing a beer to a minor, Pops will throw your punk ass out, & at that point your only options for the night are Hawk’s Gym or the Fantasy Lifestyle Venue (where you are very likely to get sucked off by my friend Jan).
Now onto the record! The record starts off with a mosh intro that leads into the song Ruinous Wrath which reminds me of the Corrosion Of Conformity tune Holier… actually, Red Death sounds to me like Eye For An Eye era C.O.C. doing the Technocracy and Animosity records the way they should have been played. Over all, this LP is nine songs of raging Hardcore with Thrash elements that are over before you even know it… I put side A on while taking a shit & I had to get up mid shit just to flip it over. By the time I was done pooping the last tune Perpetrator was half way over.
If you like hard core bands like Hoax, Negative Approach, Goosebumps…etc. you will love this more than a fat ass with a buffet pass, if you are one of those doo-doo heads that thinks every Hardcore band sounds the same you will most probably continue thinking that way, so fuck off and die!
