Well, I guess if ya gotta go out, it's always best to go out on a high note, right? Right! :-) Yeah, Sat. nights gig @ Backstage Bar & Billiards with Guilty By Association was a blast! We fucking killed it!! Crowd response was intense, and seeing everyone thrashing about was cool to see. All that hard work and practice definitely paid off, because everyone and their Mom was saying how the band never sounded tighter, or better, and other things like that, which is always cool to hear. I'd like to think that it was all because of meeeeeeeeee, hahahahaha, but in reality, it was all of us - Tom, Craig, Bobby, Mike, and I - who were just giving it our all and having a damn fun time doing so. We even pulled off a new song, Tijuana Torpedo, which I was totally worried about fucking up but thankfully didn't. It will be on the new GBA release. You're gonna love it. Trust me on that. ;-) Thanx to everyone for showing up. Thanx to everyone for the kind words. It was pretty surreal talking to Les from The Cult afterwords, who was telling me what a monster drummer I was. *blush*Yeah, like I said, this was my last gig playing with Guilty By Association, because they require a Drummer who isn't opinionated and who's blindly supportive of everything they do, and I get it, and I don't have a problem with it. They're gonna get a new drummer and carry on killing it like they always do, and I'll be right there taking it all in and snapping photos. It was fun while it lasted. :-) ![]() The other bands that played Sat. were great too! War Called Home opened things up with a ADD tinged set of Pop Punk songs that were accented by Rich's waaaaaaaayyyyy too loud guitar work... LOL That dude is soooooo fucking good. Is there a reason why both Seth and Rich play Flying V guitars? Are they trying to be the Scorpions or something? LOL They were really good and they get better every time I see them. And The People's Whiskey, gawd damn, I've been seeing these guys a lot lately, and every fucking set I've seen them play is magical. Sometimes the ride is a bit rougher than usual, but that's what happen when you trod the path least taken. They fucking kill it each and every time I see them play, and to just sit there and watch them perform these amazing songs as many times as I have is a blessing. Love that band. I didn't even stick around for Authority Zero. They sounded too much like Pennywise for me, so after saying our goodbyes to everyone, we all beat it out of there early to catch some ZZZ's in preparation for that whole Super Bowl thing that was going on the next day. ![]() Yeah, the Game itself was horrible. I wanted Seattle to win because they were the Underdogs, and because I will never, ever in my Life, cheer for the Broncos to win anything. As a Raiders fan I just can't do it... hahahahaha Yeah, I take great joy in the fact that the Broncos got their asses handed to them, and that they have now lost more Superbowls than they've won. LOL Oh and how everyone was a flub on the Interwebz about how the Red Hot Chili Peppers were lip-synching up there, and how Flea's bass wasn't even plugged in. Seriously, this is shocking to you? Has anyone performed live @ a Superbowl halftime in years? The answer is sadly, 'No'. I don't know why everyone was drooling over that Bruno Mars tool. Wasn't he the idiot that got caught at the Hard Rock doing coke in the bathroom @ Wasted Space? I mean, how much of a jack off do you have to be, to be the one guy who gets caught doing coke in THAT bathroom? LOL You think he was playing live? Of course not. There was no mic on those horns. His guitarists had dummy wireless packs on. And as a drummer, I can tell you his drumming was totally faked. Funny how one performance gets praised, and the other gets hacked to pieces. Whatever. Back to point, the Game sucked. I'm starting to believe the conspiracy theories that it was rigged too... heh heh Super Bowl my ass. More like Super Bore. Hey! Here's a new Promo video for the song We Survive, off the debut EP release from my band The Civilians - a band that doesn't care what I say or who I say it about! LOL It's a song from our upcoming debut EP which is being mastered and pressed up as we speak, and which will soon be available for all of you to purchase at any one of our gigs. It came out pretty good, considering it was all pretty much done in one take, in one day, and in under a few hours. Now THAT'S Punk Rock! :-) The MP3's are posted on the bands Reverb Nation page, and you can click here to check them out and see what you think of them. ![]() Everything is updated. Speaking of gigs, my Birthday party gig is happening @ the Artifice this Sat., as you can see on the flyer posted up over there, and the gig itself is going to be a good one - War Called Home, The Dirty Panties, and Fredward are all playing, and if I'm not too annihilated on tequila, the Civilians may play too. Well, we're gonna play regardless, but it's a question of how good we're gonna be! LOL Unfortunately, there's all sorts of other gigs going on the same day, like that Unfair Fight gig happening at Shaman Smith Studios, or that Happy Campers CD release party with Battle Born @ Backstage Bar & Billiards, or even 3D6 and the Stormtroopers Of Dirk @ the Double Clown, so if you're not there for my party, I'll understand. Not really. be there or miss out. You're choice. I feel like I've written a whole lot of stuff and really said nothing... hmmm. Feels like I'm forgetting something... Oh, did I mention that the Pictures of The People's Whiskey were posted up? If I didn't, you can click here to check them out. I also posted the whopping 4 photos that Bob took of The Civilians playing at that same gig, and you can click here to check those out. If he keeps this up I may have to list him as a Contributor to the website once again... LOL
