I don't know who's idea it was for Lean 13 to play 2 gigs on the same night, but it was a bad one! hahaha The first gig was opening up for Bonebreaker, Common War and Unfair Fight @The Garth, because SOMEBODY, and by SOMEBODY I mean the guys in the band that aren't myself and Paul, have a boner to play all ages gigs, and since The Garth is pretty much the only viable all ages place in town at this point, I made that happen. You're welcome guys. ;) The traffic getting to the place was a nightmare, and I was running hella late and ended up causing a bit of a stir because of it. I set up my drum kit as fast as humanly possible, and then sat around while everybody else got their gear set up. Why they didn't do that before I arrived, I don't know. Probably drinking in the parking lot like the cool kids they are! LOL Lean 13 played a quick and furious set full of mistakes. I'm not sure how well cocaine jokes and encouraging kids to drink and drop out of school went over with the all ages crowd, but that seemed to be the theme of the set and they stuck to it until the end. As soon as we were done I threw my drums off the stage so Unfair Fight could start getting their gear set up and I broke my drums down quickly and said my Hello / Goodbye to Dan from Unfair Fight before I threw my shit back in my car and headed off to The Dive to play the second gig of the night opening up for The Mapes / Sheiks Of Neptune gig for Angie's birthday bash. The place was packed with Raiders fans, and the vibe was boozy and carnival like. Lean 13 played another sloppy set, but it didn't matter because that's the kind of night it was, and everybody in the place was a bit stewed, so it didn't matter. I packed up my gear outside while the Sheiks Of Neptune raged away on the inside. They sounded good, but I was spent and just wanted to go home and change out of my wet clothes. Besides, they never stick around to watch bands after they play, so why should I? hahahaha Fun but stressful night. Happy Birthday Angie!! XOXOXO See you on Thurs.!
