OhMyGawd! The nuptials of Tess & Jess on Saturday was soooooooo cool! The outdoor ceremony was held @ the Artisan (classy joint with over-priced drinks) and the feeling being amongst Family and Friends was pretty fucking sweet. Everybody was fucking nice as can be, and there was nothing but Love Love Love in the air! :-) The ceremony itself was beautiful, with the Bride's side of the aisle filled with normal, well dressed people, looking healthy and animated, and the Groom's side of the aisle was filled with tattooed freaks all dressed in black looking hung over and very uncomfortable outside the confines of a dark, smelly bar. :-) Funny stuff. After the Ceremony was over it was great when Tess & Jess walked down the aisle as Man & Wife to the music from some Star Wars movie... heh heh heh As if you would expect anything else, right? Then the party moved to Agave where it was open bar, free food, and a strong enforcement of liquor license lines by an over-zealous Bar Manager or something. The commemorative shot glasses were a fine touch, and leave it to the Mexicans in the crowd to steal all the ones left behind on other tables, as well as stealing anything and everything that wasn't nailed down! LOL Oh, such fun times. Again, Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Nabers. Thanx for the Invite, and all the Best to the both of you. Huzzzzaaaaahhh! ;-)
Quiet weekend for me. Went to nothing, saw nothing, heard everything. I knew the Authority Zero show was going to be great, but after the Wedding reception I was waaaaayyy too buzzed to be driving around safely, so I headed Home to continue my whiskey drinking while watching Workaholics. ;-) I didn't make it to Lagwagon on Sunday either, because I was too busy doing nothing while laying around on the couch, wishing football was on. Bob was hanging out at my place after practice the other night while I was mixing down some old Loud Pipes practice MP3's I have laying around, and he saw all the other bands that I have recorded, and made the silly ass comment about releasing some of the tracks on some sort of onethirtyeight.org compilation thingy, and doing it old school by releasing it on cassette... LOL I told him I toyed with the idea a while back, but then decided 'What for?' and just left it at that. But Bob swears he'll do it, so I let him have at it, telling him I was gonna put the finished product on the website as a download and that he could release it on cassette if he mixed all the live stuff down, and so he did, and the first band on the block was G.F.I. because Bob says Nick is the dirtiest old man ever! ha ha ha We're working with bare basic mixing software (no Pro Tools) and the fact that these are just recorded on my little TASCAM hand held recorder, but they came out pretty good for what they are. Anyways, click here to check out the recording of G.F.I. Live @ The Bunkhouse on Feb. 27, 2010. Everything is updated. I got band practice in a few hours. Aluminum Falcon has a gig to play this Friday @ the Cheyenne Saloon, and I wish I knew who was playing, and I wish I had a flyer to show you for the gig, but, well, you know how that goes. Why promote a gig weeks beforehand when you can just create a Facebook event page a few days before the gig and then post the flyer on there. LOL After the gig on Friday we're heading straight to the studio to record our debut release. We got the studio locked down all weekend, and to say that this is a long time coming is the Understatement of the Century. Should be good. :-)
