Oh man... I don't even wanna think about yesterdays Raiders game, but I can't stop obsessing over it. Bad calls from the Refs, bad decisions made on the field, bad play calling from the Coaches, we totally just self destructed against the Washington Foreskins and it was painful to watch. Matt Flynn fucking sucks. He has no eyes to see down field and no mobility outside the pocket. How did we end up with this idiot anyways?? Ugh!! Well, on the plus side, at least we're gonna be like, a zillion dollars under the cap next year, so hopefully we can buy some talent like everybody else in the league does... heh heh I heard about this a while back. I also heard that it was good for awhile, but apparently, there's been a relapse, which is never good. I'm talking about Cory from the amazeballz band Nests, who had battled Cancer last year and like I said, was doing a Hell of a lot better until recently. The sickness has come out of remission and is more aggressive than before. Adrian is setting up a benefit show to help out with some funds, and as soon as more info is known about it I'll let ya know. In the meantime, a PayPal account has been set up, and I urge to you give whatever you can, and give until it hurts. Every little bit helps. PayPal account to help out Cory from Nests. The Huntridge Theater went through it's great whitewashing this weekend, and I'm sure all the Taggers and Bangers will be very appreciative for the free canvases for their work. Some bands played, I thought there was no advanced notice about the bands playing, but I was told that nobody likes to give me advance notice about their gigs because I'm mean. I thought that was cute. Shame too, because I had nothing to do all Sat. afternoon and would of loved to have taken pictures of the bands that played. Oh well. Even the story in the paper pointed out that the majority of the people helping out with that project had never seen a show there in their life, and were just part of the Downtown herd of llamas. The guy quoted in the story, the one who was crying about the Huntridge being restored, made me laugh with his 'The Huntridge has the best acoustics ever' comment. That place sucked as far as sound or acoustics go. I thought everybody knew that? I missed this when it came out, but someone on Facebook posted it, and I'm just passing it along. It's a review that ran in the Las Vegas Review-Journal on the upcoming Desert Rats With Baseball Bats compilation. Shout outs were given to S.F.T., The People's Whiskey, Shotguns N Gasoline and Aluminum Falcon. My band was described as "waking the neighbors'. I like that. :-) Everything is updated. I forgot to mention that Zack Attack turned in a write up on the Black Sabbath gig he went to, and you can click here to check it out. Since he turned that in, I posted my write up on the new Black Sabbath album called 13, and you can click here to read that if ya want. I also posted a little write up on this NIN live recording going around the Internet, and you can click here to read that if you want. It's a real interesting listen if you care to search it out. I also posted up the Pictures of that band Kid Puto that opened up for The Mapes when they played @ The Dive last month, and you can click here to check those out. Now that those pictures are compete, I can now finish up the Show Review for that Mapes gig. I got a lot more stuff to post up here this week. Hopefully I'm not too thrashed from tomorrow night's Queers / Teenage Bottlerocket gig @ the Beauty Bar. I'm so hyped on Teenage Bottlerocket it's not even funny. I cancelled each and every single one of my band practices this week just because of this gig. I'm not even driving, so that means I get to have fun. I'm seriously gonna lose my shit. See ya there! ;-)
