Hmmmmmm... I dunno. This isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, if that says anything... LOL On paper, this sounds like an absolute nightmare of a pairing, pinning these 2 once angry young entities onto each other and putting them in a studio and seeing what happens but honestly, I expected a lot worse. I really did. If you can get past Lou Reed's absolutely horrible caterwauling and lyrical nonsensical whining, which makes William Shatner sound like Pavarotti, and James Hetfield's needless vocal repetitions, there's some killer music being played by Metallica in the background, Damage Inc. sounding stuff, stuff that sounds a lot better than the shit that was released on Death Magnetic, that's for sure! If you dare give this release a listen and hear it for your self. Just avoid all the 11 minute plus songs and you'll be alright. Look, I think this release was doomed to fail, and was only produced to keep both bands relevant and in the public eye for way more than their allotted 15 minutes but hey, it is what it is and what it is is a shitty album from Lou Reed and Metallica. What else did you expect? LOL Available from Warner Bros. Records.
