by GE 138 Damn... it's real hard to write a Show Review a few days after the fact, but I'm gonna give it a go. We arrived at Skate City to find Pitt throwing large pieces of wood into an old couch, with Katy and her friends looking on in utter disbelief. Not sure why he was doing it, but I didn't care... he's funny like that. Whatever.
I Blame Blaine started the night off with some easy going Pop Punk that got a few kids moving about. Reminded me of Game Face for some reason. They were OK. Absent Minded were on next and played a set of new school Punk anthems, ala Anti-Flag, and got the pit moving real good. They had a good stage presence for a bunch of young kids, and I was having fun watching them play. Good stuff. Guilty By Association were up next and try as I might, I just could not like them. Once I heard them playing I Like Guns by D.I., I just gave up. At least it seems like they're having fun. Work on your own songs... drop the covers... and you might have something there guys. We (The Loud Pipes) played last and it took less than a minute before something broke, which in this case was the microphone that Bryan was using. Once we got past that hurdle, it was all shits and giggles as we had the kids screaming along to our songs and slamming into each other and just having fun and whatnot. Some of our more shady fans are even starting to throw up Loud Pipes gang signs with their hands... Dorks! LOL We're not Pennywise now guys... heh heh heh. Hung out for a bit after the gig and just chilled. Pitt tried to get the money promised to us from the Promoter, but he said since Bryan broke the mic, he couldn't give us the money he had promised us... booooooooooooo. Oh well. Hank and Pitt and Bryan went to the Double Down to chase some pussy and see The Showgirls, and me and Jesse and Roxie went home to sleep. We had a big day ahead of us tomorrow.
