Written by GE 138. I have loved this bands name ever since I first saw it. I know the reference, being a Loud and Proud D & D nerd myself, and the title of the opening track on this album, Save Does Not End, fuck, I got that reference too! LOL And that song is a great opening track for this album from 3D6 called Space Fapping, which is just chock full of Punk Rock goodness through and through. With song titles like I Killed A Dragon, I'd Rather Live In An RPG, and I Love Star Wars Anyways, it's pretty obvious that the band takes great pride in their Nerdiness. My favorite song on here is Stonerd, for obvious pharmaceutical related reasons, and the lyrics to the song Why Do I Go Out In Public, about the futility of playing gigs sometimes, are fucking fantastic: Don't care about the Music / You just wanna drink some beer / A chance to get some pussy / Is the reason that you're here. Love that sentiment. I also love that the lyrics deal with how spending hours and hours on end being a Nerd and playing games affect relationships and interacting with actual humans. To that I can totally relate... heh. This is just a amazing release. The music sounds killer too - crunchy guitars, thumping bass and galloping drums go great with the snarled vocals. It's equal parts Black Flag, Metallica, D.I. and the Dead Milkmen, if ya can believe that. For a Local band release, this is fucking great, and for a Local band's sophomore release, this is pretty Epic. A stunningly brilliant mass of music from 3D6. Check this shit out immediately. You will NOT regret it. Available from the band at any of their gigs or from the bands Band Camp page which you can go to by clicking here. Like the band's Facebook page by clicking here. These guys are pretty cool. :-)

Written by Colin Oscopy. This 7" is a boot from 1982, recorded at Buff Hall. This was released in '88 on Lost And Found Records. It contains 7 blazing trax from this D.C. powerhouse. Side A contains 12XU, Small Man, Big Mouth, Filler, and Out Of Step. Side B contains It Follows, Little Friend, and I Don't Wanna Hear It. I picked this 7" up from a comic book store this last weekend. This is personally one of my favorite boots that's available, only if you're lucky to find one of these gems. Not really into "The Edge" myself but Minor Threat is just one of those bands that make you wanna slam the night away. I dig Side A of this 7" more than Side B because of the trax. 12XU is one of my favorite trax, next to No Reason. If you happen to come across one of these PICK IT UP!!!!! Available from Lost And Found Records. |
