Written by GE 138. Is this thee Three Rounds from Las Vegas? Why it sure is! When the fuck did these guys turn into a Ramones worshiping, Queers loving Pop Punk machine? LOL Didn't they used to be an Oi! band, or am I confusing them with someone else? I'm seriously stunned at how different sounding a band this is from the last time I saw them at the Double Clown many moons ago. This stuff is really catchy, really good sounding, hook laden Punk Rock goodness. I dig it! Their song Stephanie is fucking great stuff. Wow. The other song by them on here, Feel This Way, is no slouch either, reminding me of early Bouncing Souls, you know, when they were good. Both these songs appear on one side of a split 7" the band recently did with another band from Oakland called Junkie Fight, and that bands offerings on their side of the vinyl is pretty harsh, brutal stuff. Short spastic blasts of fuzzed out anger, with their song, This Song Is Easy As Fuck To Play, with the shouted out chorus of GO FUCK YOURSELF!! being the highlight of their side of this release for me. Killer stuff here, and more bands should definitely do this. Splitting the costs with another band is a cheap and efficient way to get your music onto the vinyl 7" format is was meant to be heard on. This release was a pleasant surprise and I'm definitely gonna be keeping an eye on Three Rounds from now on. How did a Local band this good fly under my radar undetected for so long?? :-) This single is available from both bands at every single gig they play. Three Rounds made this release available digitally on their Bandcamp page, with an extra song by them, My Life, thrown in as an extra special treat for downloading it. Written by Colin Oscopy. This 12" was released in the year of 1983. Mc Rad are comin' straight outta Philadelphia. After guitarist /skateboarder Chuck Treece became sponsored by Stacy Peralta, Chuck formed Mc Rad, who along with other skate punk bands JFA and Texas' own Big Boys, became one of the more popular skate punk bands of that era. Dominant Force is a blistering EP, starting with Sundail. Next song rolls Greed, this was the first song I ever heard from this release, and I was instantly hooked. Acid Drop is the 3rd song on this one, and the next 2 rippers comin' up on this release are Programmed Children, and my absolute favorite Mc Rad song, motherfucking Resthaven!!!!!!! (next would be Joslyn) ahhaah. The last 3 trax closing out this EP are Dominant Force, No Guns, and Forget Those Years (Dub). This is such a solid release in my book, and if you haven't heard it, GO LISTEN TO IT!!!!!!!!!!! Mc Rad will be playin' next month with The Faction, Drunk Injuns, and Johnny Rad And The Eggplants and more at Atomic Liquors May 24th, and there will also be a skate comp goin on to add to the fun. GO! GO! GO!!!! Long out of print, this album is currently available on the Discogs website for a very reasonable price, and you can click here to purchase your own copy. It's worth every penny. |
