Written by GE 138. Straight outta Fullerton, CA. comes the catchy Power Pop of Audacity, a band made up of a bunch of kids who grew up enjoying that laid back Southern California suburb lifestyle while listening to the Buzzcocks and The Beatles, with maybe a little Nirvana thrown in for good measure. Reminds me a bit of King Tuff too, for some reason. The 2 songs on here, Finders Keepers, and Onomatopoeia, are chock full of catchy, jangly guitar work and dreamy, melodious vocal lines, with a danceable, snappy back beat to it all, well played and well structured, and the warm, lo-fi production sound to both songs only enhances the listening experience. This stuff will get stuck inside your head if you let it. These guys already have a couple of albums released, but this was the only piece of vinyl available from the band when I saw them @ Hellpop! Comics a while back, so I grabbed it and I've been listening to it non stop ever since. A very notable release from Audacity, and I'm looking forward to hearing more from these guys. Check it out and hear for yourself how good this release is. Available from Suicide Squeeze Records. First 500 on green vinyl, second 500 in orange vinyl. I got green :-)
