Written by GE 138. I have a stack of releases to review that could choke a whore. Every day I look at them and curse them all. I decided to start going through them when the threat of them falling over on me went from 'dangerous' to 'deadly'. I sorted through them all, trying to make order of them, looking for something interesting, something I just wasn't gonna burn to the ground and talk shit about it. That's when I saw this new release from Ska legends Bad Manners. Yes! I think I got this one as a Christmas present for someone, but I guess I never gave it to them. Weird. I pulled this from the pile and burned it to my computer and gave it a spin and was a bit thrown off. Nothing on here sounded right. Something was wrong. Every song on here sounds like it's been re-recorded. Plus, the songs weren't played all the way through, and there were odd sequences in between the songs, almost like it was a DJ mix of some classic Bad Manners tuneage. It sounded weird. The songs would play for a bit, usually like halfway through, and then they would segue way from one Bad Manners song to another, some mixes working better than others (Lip Up Fatty into Special Brew) and some just failing miserably (Lorraine into Sampson & Delilah). Ugh. It was majorly frustrating and led me to just get up and turn it off. What I thought was an amazing Bad Manners greatest hits sort of collection was really just an odd party mix of Bad Manners songs done in a really shitty way. Sad. It's essentially one 80 minute long shitty mix of Bad Manners songs. Another cash grab by Mr. Buster Bloodvessel. Check it out if you're so inclined. Definitely for clueless suckers only. Phooey. Released by the Sandrew Metronome company, whoever the fuck they are. Available digitally from Amazon (click here), and also on iTunes (click here).
