Written by GE 138. Brutal Resistance have reemerged as of late, picking up right where they left off in laying down a D-Beat path that many have chosen to follow them down, and it's very cool to see them back in action after a bit of a disappearing act on their part. Back in 2008-2009, Brutal Resistance was playing their heavily Partisans / Infa Riot influenced tunes at every gig they could get their asses on, from beer drenched slamming skate nights at East Side Joe's, to opening up for anybody and everybody that rolled through town playing the big gigs at the cool places in town, and they gave 110% every time they played. Great to see. Brutal Resistance had developed a small but loyal following of Friends and Fans that would come out to their gigs and always be ready to slam to anything the band played, and it was always cool to see them gigging around, hanging out and having fun. Omar is a righteous dude in my book. :-) Anyways, for whatever reason, Brutal Resistance just kind of stopped playing, and I guess they laid dormant for a while, plotting, planning, getting laid, whatever, and now they're back, hopefully for a longer run than they were the last time they were around, and they dragged their butt flap covered asses down to Camel Hump Studios and captured some kick ass tunes in the process, releasing 4 of the tastier ones as this EP aptly called We're Still Here. This thing is full of galloping drum beats with tight, in synch bass and guitar riffs run loud and proud side by side all throughout these songs, with their namesake song Brutal Resistance being the standout track for me, although they're all pretty good. Glad to see that the song We Won't Go (from their 2008 3 song demo) is still being played; it's been reworked and it's sounding better than ever. Yeah, this is a good little teaser from Brutal Resistance. Fast angry in your face Punk Rock. Pretty sweet. Check it out. :-) The CD is available from Brutal Resistance at every gig they play, and they play a lot, so you have no excuse not to grab one. This release is also available digitally from the Brutal Resistance Bandcamp page, which you can go to by clicking here.
