Remind me to never do that again... lol No matter how hard my friends beg me next year to play the 1 gig a year they want to play, please remind me of what happened this year and I'm sure I'll deny them to the bitter end. I'm still not sure what happened last night but I didn't like it one bit. To say it was an embarrassment and a huge waste of my time would be the understatement of the year, and it's only February... lol Overconfidence, drunkenness, lack of practice, failure in musical abilities, whatever the fuck it was, it all combined to kick our collective asses last night, and we have no one to blame but ourselves. This one hurt. Major letdown of epic proportions. The dead horse has been flogged enough. Time to let it go...

There's just something about hanging around the 5 Star Bar in Downtown Los Angeles with your friends in the band waiting to play a gig, taking in the scenery all around you and people watching all the Freaks, Hipsters, Skaters and fresh out of jail Criminals that's just great to recharge your battery to. The weather was gorgeous, the beers were cheap and plentiful, and the tacos being sold on the street were slow in coming but definitely worth the wait. The gig itself was fun. The bands that played weren't that good, except for Vegas Threat of course, but a lot of people came out to see us, and i think we did OK. The guys practiced hard to sound good, and I was happy with the way they played. Sure wish I could of heard them though... hahaha Yeah, for a one time only thing it was a fun gig. Cool way to waste some time on a Sunday afternoon. Living the dream. ❤ I had the best birthday ever. It was a long weekend. Thanks to everyone for the well wishes and sentiments. I got everything I wanted for my birthday and then some. 😉😉😉 I think this video pretty much sums it all up for me... hahahaha Thanx to Mel Doulos for sending it to me. Made my weekend it did. 😂😂😂 In what may be the greatest birthday gift I have inadvertently ever received, The Pluralses last night released a fantastic video for the song She Was Asking For It, off their amazing debut album E Pluralses Unum, released some 3 years ago now. The video is pro shot, pro edited, and a great piece of eye candy. The entire video length is over double the length of the song because of the great Beastie Boys - Sabotage comical cops angle, and, dare I say it, but Jeff Murphy is the true star of this thing, hahahaha It's worth watching this video just for the gratuitous eye candy shot of his manly chest which Xtal told me wasn't his, but I don't believe her! hahahaha Oh man, this video just made my week! Diapermates.com! WTF? hahahaha Thanx! Pluralses-es!! (Pluralsi?) Now when's that new album coming out dammit??? 🤞🤞🤞👌👌👌 I give the guys I play drums for a lot of shit. While their priorities are to get away from their families for a night and get drunk, mine is to sound good and play well. The guys in Vegas Threat have been busting their collective asses off to sound good for this upcoming Minor Threat Matinee Art Exhibit going on at the 5 Star Bar in Downtown LA on the 18th. The gig is already sold out, but I made this video to promote the thing, using a recording we made at practice the other day as the soundtrack. It took me all of 15 minutes to make it using Adobe Lightroom, and I think it came out pretty good. I'm proud that these guys worked so hard to sound so good, and I'm looking forward to playing the gig. 😁 |
