Here's a cool video I captured of Surrounded By Thieves playing one of the better songs off of their new CD Prophecies Of Greed last Sunday @ the Double Clown. OK, now the Negative. Fake email accounts are cute. I don't know that I'm worth the effort, but whatever. You don't care what I thought about PRB, and I don't care what you think about anything. You can't put too much validity in someone's opinion when they don't have the merit to stand behind it. And this Nazi shit has got to stop pronto. Look, I don't know or care what's the deal with F.S.P. and the racist actions of members past and present. One guy calling himself Old Dude had the balls to go public with his opinion about the whole situation (click here to read his comment, and my reply) but everyone I'm running into has an opinion on it, but no one wants to go Public with it, so whatever, and I've heard the stories about Johnny Bangs, both Positive and Negative, but I don't know if I should give a shit about it. It's not like F.S.P. are gigging steady or still eschewing all that White Power bullshit, but if they are, then they should be called out on it, but if they're not, then I say let sleeping dogs lie. We all did stupid shit in the past for whatever reason, and everyone deserves a second chance. Well, almost everyone anyways... heh heh

I really don't think I can do it. I really can't. There was just too much fun stuff going on this past weekend for me to even compute what all happened and how fun it was! LOL From running into supposed 'mortal enemies' who just came up to me and were like 'Hey Gilby - what's up?', to making people run away from where I was at and hide from me (seriously, WTF???), the oriental Angel that fell from Heaven right into my lap @ Carl's Jr. (ask Bob about that one), and oh, the people who tip toed around me and acted like I wasn't even there, acted like they didn't even see me, that was the funniest shit of them all. Yeah. There was Music involved this weekend too, with me catching a fantastic set from D.I. @ the Aruba on Sat. night, and also that opening band Kids On Fire were fucking cool too. I think they're from Seattle, check them out.  Death By Stereo were pretty sick as well, and I watched their set from the backstage area while breaking my kit down. I saw a few of the Mapes at the Aruba as well, checking out the Maxies, who everybody told me were really good. Coming all that way from Iceland, CA., they better be! ;-) Oh, and that band Trash Monsters, from CA., total ass clowns. They fucking sucked big time.

I played 2 gigs this weekend with Guilty By Association, and I think I did OK. At least that's what people told me anyways... heh. I was totally spazzing out about playing the songs right and at the right tempo, but the important people who know the bands songs said we sounded great, so I felt pretty good about it all once things were said and done. Again, don't ask me because I don't know what my status with the band is. Mike told the crowd at the Aruba that I was filling in, so whatever. At both gigs I couldn't hear shit, couldn't see shit, and was totally floundering like a fish out of water trying to play everything correctly. I did the best I could. :-) Somebody from the band Break The Cycle filmed us playing at the Double Clown Sun. night, so check it out and see for yourself what we sounded like, and you tell me - is it good?

Oh, and I bowled with the Vegascendents this year too, and we made it to the 2nd round, which is pretty rad for a team's first year. We dragged our sorry asses to the bowling alley at 10 in the morning on Sunday, just to lose to some cool team called the Los Angelaskans, who beat us by like, a zillion pins or so. I was running on absolutely NO sleep and still drunk and stupid. That's my excuse. I can't speak for my Teammates, who went to bed early and were well rested and bowled the worst games of their lives... ha ha ha It was fun and I'm looking forward to not doing it again next year... heh heh Bowling on the other side of us were the Sharp Objects, that band I saw on St. Patrick's Day @ Thee Parkside in San Francisco a few months ago. They had an interesting viewpoint of what went down that night with 'Her' and her drunken, pill'd out  'stupiedity', and after talking to them and hearing them tell me what they saw and heard, I love those guys even more! LOL Yeah, she was there. People saw her. Some of them told me. Some of them didn't. Whatever.

Oh, and you know what else some people told me? Lots of Jokers tried telling me how "awesome" and "epic" the bands were this year, and after watching a few videos from pretty much every band that played this year on YouTube, I have to wonder what some of you out there are smoking, and how can I get some of that, because it's better than what I'm smoking, that's for sure! LOL Gawd, the bands were just terrible this year. Rancid blew, as usual. NOFX is just phoning it in at this point and should just give it up already. They were just sad. Oh, it was convenient of them to announce this past Fri. that they will be playing poolside @ the Hard Rock next month. How many of you Local suckers would of bought tickets to see NOFX @ Punk Rock Bowling if you knew they were playing the Hard Rock next month? Probably the same amount but I remain forever optimistic that it's not so. Oh, let's see... the Adicks, well, you've seen them once you've seen them a zillion times - no biggie. Adolescents? I'll see 'em the next time they play here Locally within the next few months or so and without a crowd of drunken tourists and dooshbags all around me. Punk Rock Bowling really has turned into the Viva Rockabilly weekender. It's the same shit but with different music and costumes.

Dwarves played without He Who Cannot Be Named, and the video I saw of them looked pretty boring. Plus Blag is a wife stealing dick, so enough said about that band. Youth Brigade was lame. A drunk Shawn Stern is sad to watch. People were raving about the Dickies but I didn't see it. They were OK but I've seen 'em better. And to those of you bitching about the Angry Samoans, didn't you learn your lesson from the last time they played the Beauty Bar? Guess not, but whatever. Pennywise? ha ha ha ha Yeah right! New singer, old singer, they have always sucked. The Generators? Youth of Today? 7 Seconds? The Belltones? STFU with that noise. Those bands all sucked and you know it. Look, it wasn't like there wasn't some cool bands that played some great sets this weekend. Cockney Rejects - AMAZING! They were the only band I was tempted to see this year, but the thought of dealing with the sheep and herd of cattle mentality with the crowd there to see them had me staying as far away as possible. Everyone and their dead Uncle was telling me how incredible Municipal Waste was, but they were just as incredible opening up for Gwar a few months ago @ the Hard Rock cafe. I heard Dr. Know kicked ass, but I knew that when the same reunion with Kyle happened in Ventura last year. Good Riddance I heard were incredible, same with Word Salad, but everyone else? Yawn. And that whole Beard Core thing with the acoustic shows happening is a fucking joke. Acoustic guitars are for Hippies like Jim Croce or John Denver. It's the antithesis of everything Punk is and stands for, and if you like it you're just stupid. And if you went to any of those Beauty Bar shows you're incredibly stupid as well. Matt Skiba is a joke. Tim Berry is a fucking cock smoking fag, and so is Tom Gabel, or Laura Jean Grace, or Crazy Confused Cunt, or whatever it's calling itself these days. I'm sooooooooo sick of hearing about that shit, like it's so revolutionary or original. What? Has no one ever heard of Wayne/Jayne County? Genesis P. Orridge? Yeah, didn't think so. The fact that he announces this in Rolling Stone magazine, which hasn't been relevant since they put Britney Spears on the cover the week that Joe Strummer passed away, shows you that it's all just an attention grab, like a baby that smears shit on itself, looking for someone to acknowledge it. Jan Wenner, the Publisher of Rolling Stone, is a well known Queen, so I hope his panties got all gushy and wet when he heard that Tom Gabel wanted to come out in his magazine. I hope he at least got a blow job from Laura Jean Grace for all this free publicity he gave him, her, it, whatever. It's just stupid. Who fucking cares? Seriously. Male or Female, your music still sucks. And if you think any of that Beard Core shit is relevant than you suck too. This shit has got to go. Yeah, Punk Rock Bowling is upon us, and the Drama already begins. I caught a little bit of slack for promoting that F.S.P. gig last night, but I know nothing about any alleged Racism back in the day or about any Racists being in the band, but if that's true, I might have to relegate them to bands that don't deserve to be supported. Anyone know anything about this? Anyone wanna chime in?

I think I've converted every page on the website to the new format. I'm constantly adding all sorts of the old material to the website, like Pictures and Show Reviews, and I've added some new stuff too, like the Music Reviews on the latest from Ministry (click here to read that) and Surrounded By Thieves as well - click here to read that. I also added the Pictures I took of them playing @ the Bunkhouse a few weeks ago, and you can go here to check those out. That was a fun night to say the least. The Show Review of that gig is almost done. I'm just waiting to edit those Battle Born photos from that night and it will be done. Oh, I added a Tunes page with stuff to listen to on there, and the first thing I put up on that page was a release from Public Humiliation back in 1988. The album is called It All Started When I Was Five, and you can click here to check that release out. Fans of the Flaming Lips or the Dead Milkmen will like it. Don't forget about this Deadhand gig happening tonight. I'm not sure why they're playing the Griffin, but I'd like to think it's because they're trying to pay off some drug fueled, hooker filled, 3 day long drinking binge, but I'm sure the real reason they're playing there is not as cool as what I imagined, but you never know. Anyways, go check out Deadhand tonight, and if I can get out of the studio tonight on time I just might venture downtown to check this out. It's an intimate setting that gives me the opportunity to see at least 1 good band before the Punk Rock Bowling snore fest oozes it's way into town. Sorry folks, but I'm just not feeling it this year. Who's playing this year that's worth getting worked up about? Rancid? NOFX? The Belltones? LOL Fuck all that ghey shit. I finally caught up on all the Flyers for the Gig Calendar page, and I've been nerding out big time on applying all the changes that Weebly have made to the software that makes this website possible. Did you see the new layout for the Videos page? I love it. It's all categorized and alphabetized and you can click on any bands name and it takes you to a page that contains all the stuff I have from that band on one page. You can comment on everything individually now, which is awesome too, and I found an old Thirteen34 video on my old Myspace page that I threw on there that I don't even have a hard copy of myself anymore. I lost it on a computer I used to have a long ass time ago. Click here to check that video out. I did the same with the Music Reviews page. Wow, what a weekend. 3 people I know got arrested this weekend - 2 of them for some serious charges, 1 for just being an idiot. It wasn't a good weekend for them, that's for sure. Me personally, I blame the solar eclipse or whatever that stupid thing was that everyone was all gaa gaa over for the abnormal behavior. It's always amazing to me that people feel the need to re-post over and over ad nauseam on Facebook things that are all over the media. You're not a news reporter people. Hey, let's keep people's minds off the important stuff like what's going on in Chicago at the NATO convention by bombarding them with inane stuff that's vapid and meaningless like a solar eclipse! Fucking sheeple I swear.

This gig flyer just popped up this weekend. I fucking hate the Griffin but I love Deadhand, so you can see my dilemma. I don't know who Rusty Maples are, but I'm sure I won't like them... heh heh

I made the trek out to the Silverton on Sat. to see Don Carlos, only to find out the gig had been moved to the Hard Rock and that it had started an hour earlier. Fuck. I didn't feel up to making the trek to the Hard Rock on a Sat. night so I just called it and went Home. Band practice has been killing me of late, so I need all the rest I can get. It's the calm before the storm known as Punk Rock Bowling, which has now achieved the same dooshbag gathering of Poseurs status that the Viva Rockasilly thing has. Whatever. The band that I think I'm officially now a member of, Guilty By Association, is playing 2 gigs for PRB, and it sure would be nice to see a few familiar faces at either one of them... hint hint

Robin Gibb passed away this weekend, which was sad. The dude fought the good fight. Donna Summer passed away a few days earlier. Both of those artists music was like the soundtrack to the 70's. It was everywhere. You know you're getting old when Disco stars start dying off. ;-) And, just to show you they always die in 3's, Chuck Brown preceded them all. Damn. You can even do another recent three celebrities with Carrol Shelby, the car dude, Vidal Sassoon, the hair dude, and George Lindsey, aka the Goober dude on The Andy Griffith Show. *Le sigh* And Abe Vigoda laughs at them all.

Weebly just did some kick ass improvements this weekend, so I've been redesigning and reconfiguring everything on here. You can now comment on everything individually, so I re-added all the photos in the new format, as well as a bunch of Music Reviews that I don't think were up before, stuff from bands like The Heroine, Too $hort, The Toy Dolls, Anthrax, Metallica, Die Laughing, and a few other bands I'm not remembering right now, so go to the page and check all that out.
