![]() The less said about these past few days the better, OK? Apparently I'm just no good for girls on vacation looking to have fun. Apparently I'm just not a fun person to be around... LOL I came on here to say something, something that someone asked me to mention on here, but damned if I know what it was now. Marijuana truly does affect the memory. ;-) Wait - oh yeah, Nick from Battle Born wanted me to remind you about the gig they're playing @ the Bunkhouse this Fri. I ran into him earlier at Wal-Mart fretting over his razor purchasing dilemma. They're playing with Local good guys Surrounded by Thieves and Eken Is Dead, who may be good, and who may be guys, I'm not sure. Anyways, after you're through with your First Friday shenanigans, stop on by. It's gonna be fun. :-) I just scanned over some of the latest postings, and I don't think I said anything about stuff like that Deadhand gig @ the Bikini Bar last Thurs., which was great by the way. Deadhand are playing some fucking AMAZING sounding new songs that just make me chub up every time I hear them. I'm going to their gigs just to hear the new songs, and pretty much neglecting their back catalog of impressive music. Signals Midwest were pretty cool, playing a strong set of tunes that was like riding on a rickety old fishing boat in the middle of a powerfully destructive storm on the open seas. They roll and lurch and swell and turn and start and stop and come dangerously close to sinking at times, but they just never did. I thought they were excellent and their drummer was beast. I bought lots of merch but no shirt, because they didn't have any black shirts. What kind of band doesn't have black shirts? Jeesh! LOL And I found out that No Red Alice is just Sal from TheCore doing his Beardcore stuff. I watched him playing his songs while I was talking to Danielle the Promoter about upcoming stuff she has going on. She said I come across as an asshole on the website but that I'm a really sweet guy. Oh... she couldn't be more wrong about that if she tried... hahaha It was a cool little gig. I had fun. I drank S'more's shots that would of been much better if they had graham crackers to go with it. I think the less said about the American Buckshot performance @ the Double Clown on Fri. the better, OK? hahaha People said we were really good, but they were obviously high on bath salts or something. Saturday was that lame ass Positive Force thing, with all the old Punk Rock paraphernalia on display, but how positive could it be if it's held at Favorites? LOL The stabbing at the Tenacious D show is all over the news, and I think a Show Review for the NOFX thing is forthcoming, but I'm not sure. Sunday I was at that Sports Pub Reunion thing, where I sat at a table in the back and watched people I know and love make absolute embarrassing asses of themselves. Cocaine is a Hell of a drug, ya know? ;-) The guys from the Crystal Method were on the wheels of steel, so the music was pretty chill. Pure 80's Alternative crap. I met some very interesting people though, so the night wasn't a total waste... Shit. I gotta get ready for Ashley & Brendan's little wedding reception thingy. Uhhmmm... check out the latest Show Review from Karl Bakla on the Pinkerton Thugs gig @ Favorite's last week by clicking here. Since Dean and Karl and Bob are all cranking out Show Reviews as of late, I figured I better do one too, and mine's was for the Fat Dukes Of Fuck / Civilians / Lotus gig @ the Motor City Cafe that happened the same day as the Pinkerton Thugs gig, and you can click here to check that out. Karl and I were in different places in the City at the same time equally drunk. :-) Oh, and I also posted the Pictures that my nephew Tony took at that Yayo Taco gig a few weeks back, so click here to check out his photos of Nothing With Numbers, and then click here to see his amazing photos of TheCore in action. That Kid has got the Eye, that's for sure, and watching him running around with my camera working the room was priceless. <3 Everything is updated. Gotta run. Enjoy this Video of Deadhand playing @ the Bikini Bar. It's a bit ruff but watchable.

So lemme get this straight -
Cannibal Corpse and a shitload of bands just like then play at the HOB and not one bad thing happens. Tenacious D plays the HOB last night and some dude gets stabbed? hahahahaha This just proves my theory that Tenacious D fans are some of the biggest dooshbags in existence. :-) ![]() OK - first things first! Tonight there's a very cool gig going down @ the Bikini Bar which, I guess, is now booking bands to play there again. It's got Signals Midwest on the bill, who I saw play last year @ Hypnotic Billiards (remember that place?) and they're a pretty good band. Click here for Pictures of them in action. Also on the bill tonight is Deadhand, who are always kick ass and definitely worth the effort to come out and see play, ya know? They played a few new songs the last time I saw them, and they sounded great, of course. I took video with my iPhone but it came out kind of crappy (I think) so I never posted it. Oh well. I don't know a thing about No Red Alice and nor do I care. Locals? Signals Midwest and Deadhand are a good enough draw for me, so I'll get there early to chat with my Friends and to check out all the bands playing, including No Red Alice because that's how I roll - for better or for worse. And besides, what else are you gonna do on a Thursday night? Stay home and Facebook it? Fuck that. ![]() Tomorrow night, it's all about American Buckshot @ the Double Clown. It's Dean's first show since coming back from wherever the Hell he was on the Earth and from doing whatever the Hell it was he was doing for the Military for over a year. He's impatient and headstrong and hyped beyond belief to be playing this gig, and I wish I could share his feeling of enthusiasm but I can't. I think this gig is going to be one colossal train wreck, based on our last few practices, but who knows - I could be wrong. Probably not though. ;-) It's also our new guitar player Rusty's first gig with us. He's been busting his ass to get the riffs and counts down, so come out and heckle him mercilessly for deciding to play with us - the fool! hahaha We're going on first at 10pm, so get there early and then leave - that's what I'm planning on doing! LOL Well, I.D.F.I. and Agent 86 are playing on the bill as well, so if you do decide to stick around and watch the rest of the bill, you can at least watch those 2 bands because they're pretty good. I.D.F.I. fucking kills it and if I didn't have better things to do, like anything and everything, I might stick around and watch those dudes, since I was already there, of course. ;-) Tonight there's also this thing going on @ the Arts Factory, a gig with All Eyes West, Broadcaster and Fredward, a bunch of bands I've never heard of and know nothing about, but if you ain't feeling the Deadhand gig, you could always go there. The Facebook event pages for the thing is right here. I wish I had a flyer to show ya, but apparently, Bobby Franks never got around to doing one for the thing, so whatever. Karl Bakla got around to doing another fantastic Show Review for the website, this time for that Communion Of Thieves gig that went down a few weeks ago, and you can click here to read it. Dogs don't belong at gigs. That's all I'm saying. Oh, and Dead Neon and 3D6 are playing on Friday @ Yayo Taco, and there's gonna be some French filmmakers there who are putting together a film about the Local Underground Scene here, so maybe you could get there early and be a part of History before heading over to the Double Clown to see American Buckshot play! hahaha Anyways, everything is updated - all sorts of new stuff added all the time, like these Pictures of the Civilians playing @ the Motor City Cafe last week. Click here to check those out if you haven't already. It's gonna be a great weekend, and I'm definitely optimistic about anything and everything that may or may not happen! Wish me Luck! :-)
![]() It's very rare that I do this, but I just had to rush these fantastic Fat Dukes Of Fuck photos up to the website, just to try to illustrate what a great performance they put on this past Saturday @ Motor City Cafe. They were beyond outlandish, putting on an interactive display of toilet paper flinging lessons that had everyone in the place getting into what they were doing. Totally original set and really great to see. Musically they're in the vein of bands like the Melvins, Crowbar, and maybe even Buzzoven, and the Enthusiasm and Lunacy the band displays is both contagious and entertaining. Everyone was having a great time, and the music was really, really good. Holy fuck did I love watching the Fat Dukes Of Fuck mess up the Motor City Cafe. That was some pretty gnarly shit. Click here to check out the photos, or just click on the Pictures tab near the top of the page. Either or. It's a Monday, and when I checked the ol' website email I found another Show Review from Karl Bakla in there! :-) If this keeps up it may add a shred of Dignity and Relevancy to this website! LOL The write up is for a gig with the Street Eaters, the Mapes, Time Crashers and the Hard Pipe Hitters, and you can read all about it by clicking right here. And for the record, I don't have a problem with the Hard Pipe Hitters. They got rid of that idiot from Infestshit, so they're now cool with me. I can support them guilt free. Now if only some other bands here in town would follow suit...
Speaking of guilt - I heard Guilty By Association killed it on Saturday @ the Double Clown. That's fucking cool. And they even played some new songs, which is scary! LOL And everybody loved the White Kaps, but how could you not? They're a great band that I've been into since we were both playing that La Habra backyard keg party scene waaaaaaaaaaaayyy back in the days. Riots galore and fun times for all. I hope if and when the White Kaps come back, they play someplace else, but I doubt it. Phooey. Bunch of new stuff added to the website, like this Music Review for the latest release from Thick As Blood (click here to read that) and another on the latest release from Demon Lung called Pareidolia, which is nothing short of amazing. Click here to read that. I also added the American Buckshot Delightful demo to the Tunes page, to get you hyped up on our upcoming gig this Friday, and you can click here to check that out. Listen to it, download it, enjoy it, whatever. Everything is updated. I got a Teeter Hang Ups inversion table to check out today. ;-) Enjoy! Evil, Sado-masochistic clowns abusing animals... penises on the bodies of geese... ice cream and cake... and 2 kick ass bands. Where else are you going to be tonight? The Copa Room? Double Clown?? Fuck that! Get your ass to the Motor City cafe to see the Fat Dukes Of Fuck and the Civilians!! :-)
