It's early Saturday morning. What am I doing up? I dunno. I had to talk a near and dear Friend off the edge she was dangerously close to falling off of last night, and I had a Drama filled phone call that wasn't worth the effort it took to hit the Call Back option on my iPhone. I'm seriously delirious from a lack of sleep. I lose track of what day it is, or if it's even day at all, but despite it all, I still carry on. I move forward. :-) Tonight, there is seriously no other place to be than this amazing gig that is going down at El Taco de Yayo, or Yayo Taco for you güeros out there. It's a Celebration Bitches!! It's a celebration for the Unfair Fight EP Release called We Are The Dead, which will be available tonight so make sure to get your grubby little paws on one while ya can. This first pressing is guaranteed to go fast and if you get there early enough, the first 50 copies come with special surprises inside of them, so chop chop! And please, don't bring any damn dogs down there, OK? Fucking hippies I swear. Go die. Local support is being provided by the Quitters, who, hopefully, will have their bass player with them this time. Everything is updated. I added the Music Review of the latest release from The Fat Dukes Of Fuck called Honey From The Lips Of An Angel, and you can click here to read that. Yeah, it's a beautiful day outside. Real California weather. I think I'm gonna go seek adventure. See you at the gig tonight. Oh, if after the Unfair Fight gig, you're still feeling all randy and Punk Rock and shit, head to the Double Clown to see the return of the Divebombers, who are playing with the Glory Stompers, Kids In Heat and some other band. Eddie assures me that the Divebombers will be kicking mucho ass tonight and that bodies will be left in the wake of this Punk Rock aural assault. Sounds like fun, and if it was anywhere else I'd be there. Also, if you see him, bug him for a free stuff, like a CD or something. It's the least he can do for raping your ears with some killer Punk Rock tuneage... heh heh

I think this new girl I'm smitten about has me all discombobulated. :-) I completely forgot to mention that Fat Dukes Of Fuck art exhibit / CD release party thing that went down last Friday @ Blackbird Studios. I heard nothing but good things about it, and I'm sorry that I wasn't able to attend. My most humble apologies guys. I still wanna Interview you please. Also, I heard some stuff about that other show that went down on Friday too, but I'm not gonna comment on that! LOL Sat. night's gig @ Artifice with TheCore was a success, and that Cancer benefit @ Tommy Rocker's with all those old man bands playing raised a lot of dough for an excellent cause. Jeff Murphy, I hope you win that Q & A with George Knapp! LOL I also heard that last night's gig @ the Bunkhouse with the Cobra Skulls, The People's Whiskey, Holding Onto Sound and the Seriouslys was nothing short of amazeballs. It was also Bennett from HOTS and Liz from Unfair Fight's birthday celebration, so that just made things a lot more raucous! Happy belated Birthday to both of ya! I'm not too big on the Cobra Skulls, but I wanted to make it out for the snazzy line up of Local talent, but I was burned out from band practice and just couldn't drag my carcass downtown to partake in the festivities. People said the gig was the shit, and I'm glad a Monday night show can go off like that. :-) Yeah, I just wanted to pop in here real quick and tell you that. There's lots of shows and gigs coming up this week, including Strung Out @ Vinyl, Blink 182 @ the Cosmo, Authority Zero @ the Silverton with Locals Surrounded By Thieves opening, and on Sat. night there's the return from the dead Divebombers, who will be kicking some serious ass @ the Double Clown. After that Unfair Fight gig @ Yayo on Sat., you should go check out the Divebombers. Oh, and on Mon. there's that Gaslight Anthem / Rise Against poseur fest going on, but don't get me going on that. If you have a vagina I'm sure you'll be there. Sheep. Anyways, I'm gonna go give my girl a call. We're planning our first trip together. Hopefully it isn't as Drama filled as my last one... heh heh. She's the only girl I want her to be... And on the darkest nights She occupies my time I can't wait for the day to make her, make her mine And I'll tell you that's it's OK So many things I wanna hear you say... Lemme get back to that later. ;-) First off, let's talk some FOOTBALL!! hahaha YES!! How fucking SICK was that Raiders game yesterday??? Gawd damn do I love my team! To all of you who were talking shit to Jarrod and I @ Favorite's on Saturday - SUCK IT CHUMPS!! hahaha I told you guys... on any given Sunday, anything can happen. The Vikings can beat the 40-whiners, and the Raiders can beat the Steelers. Oh how sweet it is! I'd like to think it was my 2 Nephews who flew up there to see the game that brought us good luck, but it was probably more the fact that Duane The Main Brain McClain was wearing his Raiders jersey yesterday... heh heh The Autumn wind is a Raider Pillaging just for fun He'll knock you 'round and upside down And laugh when he's conquered and won Man, I'm just full of poetry today, aren't I? LOL OK, I'm sure this is all old news by now, but the Billie Joe from Green Day flip out is pretty funny. It's totally staged, but I think the point was made. It takes a while for Billie Joe to break his guitar at the neck, while Mike snaps his entire bass body in half. I think the best part is when Billie Joe just throws his microphone in the air, where after about a 5 second ascent/descent, it just thumps to the ground with a solid Ooompf! heh heh heh And he's not drunk or stoned or tweeking either. Believe me, I know. ;-) Hey man! Did you hear about all the cool gigs this weekend? Neither did I! LOL But, Saturday's gig with Deadhand, Battle Born, Christian Martucii and East Of Sweden was pretty sweet. I'm listening back to the Deadhand set I recorded with my trusty Tascam DR-07, and the new stuff they played was incredible!! Please record and release that soon guys! And Battle Born played great as well, even though Chad was a bit under the weather from some bad Mexican food he ate earlier. They played a new song called The Killers, because the Killers released a new album called Battle Born. :-) You can hear the new song by clicking here, and please go to the band's website by clicking here. They talk some shit about the Killers on there, which is pretty funny. Apparently, all of their good press comes from me... heh heh heh That band Christian Martucci was OK, Psychobilly Rock N Roll stuff that got boring after a bit. Their drummer was sick though. And East Of Sweden were total shoegazer rock that would of went over big at the Beauty Bar. That's all I'm saying...
And about what I was saying earlier, well, I think this chick is rad! She's fucking smart, beautiful, killer body, college graduate AND she has all her teeth! What a deal! hahaha I don't know where it's leading, but I'm definitely enjoying the view and the ride. ;-) Pictures of Jack Grisham's Lost Soul and The Vermin were just added to the website. You can click here to check out those J.G.L.S. photos, and you can click here to see those Vermin pix. And get fucking HYPED on this weekends Unfair Fight EP release party going down on Yayo Taco. You do NOT want to miss this. It's going to be Epic. Everything's updated. I'm gonna go call her now and let her make me Happy. :-) It happened when I was leaving the Pub last night. I had sat around for a trio of hours drinking pints of Guinness and slamming down chilly glasses of Jameson's on the rocks, which, for some reason, I had to drink away from the bar in the food section of the pub. I was missing my Friend and I spent my time watching people get drunk and pick up on each other like the sheep they are. After I grew bored of watching that I headed out to my car to head Home and then stood there for a bit while taking in the sight of the makeshift memorial which marked the location of a recent traffic accident just a few yards away. Candles flickered idly in the wind, the scent of sickly sweet flowers could be caught if the wind was right. A few people hung around listlessly, looking lost. I was lighting up a clove when one of the Sheep from inside of the pub came outside with his 2 bleached blonde bimbo plastic surgery disasters hand in hand. This guy was the perfect Ken doll to these 2 Barbies. They're all stinking drunk and laughing loud and stupid, with the guy braying out Hey! What's going on out here? A party? I see some Mexicans hanging out, I see candles, it must be a fiesta! ha ha ha I was feeling drunk and stupid so I walked up to him and put my face just inches from his and said "No, you jack ass - that's the sight of an automobile accident that killed 4 people and injured a bunch more, innocent people who were just waiting for the bus to get to work, so shut the fuck up and get your drunk ass back inside." The silence was deafening from all 3 of them, and his pathetic mumbling of Oh, Sorry. Let's go back inside girls. sounded loud and sweet and clear to my ears. They went back inside looking stupid and I drove off, feeling like I had done my part to change the world for the better, even if it's just a for a little bit, even if it's just one dooshbag at a time. :-) New Pictures of Surrounded By Thieves and The People's Whiskey just added. The photos of SBT can be seen by clicking here. The pix of The People's Whiskey (Straight Outta Hendo) can be seen by clicking here. I heard that Surrounded By Thieves release party was pretty sick. Wish I could of been there... It's Monday morning - time for a Sports rant, which, according to the other 'Punk' website in town, I am known for, so let's just go. Skip over this paragraph if you don't give a shit about Sports, but don't wander off - I may get into some major "shit talking" about some Local fucktards and their asinine words about me this weekend when I'm done... heh heh
NHL Lockout: Are you fucking shitting me??? Those fucking greedy ass Owners. The League is barely recovering from the 2008 lockout and here we are again, basically 5 years later, dealing with the same ol' shit and, barring a late happening miracle, there will be no NHL Hockey season. I could fucking kill somebody. Gary Bettman is a fucking plague upon the NHL and needs to be dealt with as such. No Hockey this year??? Fuuuuuuuuckkkk! Me without Hockey is a bad, bad thing. Me no likey this at all. I don't know what to do! I'm gonna go cry now. Oakland Raiders: Carson Palmer has got to go. His mobility is limited, his passing arm is weak, and I really don't think that he's the QB for our team. His ability to read the open man is terrible, and in the opening game against the San Diego Chargirls his main passing target was McFadden, who, the last time I checked, was a running back, not a wide receiver. Granted he got over 350 yards passing yesterday, but he only had 1 TD for his effort, and that's just weaksauce and totally unacceptable. And speaking of McFadden, this new zone blocking being instituted by the new offensive coordinator is just not working. That too needs to go. Too many times McFadden has lost momentum while running into one of his blockers who is having a hard time maneuvering through the zone blocking scheme. It's not pretty to watch, that's for sure. McFadden was a beast last year, before his injury he was on track to shatter all sorts of rushing records and this year, with the new offensive coordinator, he hasn't even busted out into triple figures yet. It's aggravating, it's frustrating, and it's definitely giving me ulcers (again) but you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way. :-) At least I have football games to complain about, ya know? 3 months ago I was like 'Is it September yet?', and now that it is, I couldn't be happier. Win Lose or Tie - Raider Fan until I Die!! Ya know what? I'm gonna lay back on the shit talking for a second. I gotta check something out first and make sure all my targets are protected before I launch my attack. This could be good, it will definitely be fun, and I'm looking forward to the battle of wits and socially awkward public interactions all this silliness seems to bring. Or maybe I won't even talk shit? Who knows? Anything's possible, right? Catch me on the right day and you'll get EXACTLY what you deserve, but like I was telling my Friends yesterday - I'm in a good place right now. I can't be bothered. I'm untouchable right now, and I know that fact drives some of you out there nuts. I had no idea my little thing is such a big deal to you all! LOL That's funny to me. Is it funny to you too? If it's not, it should be, because it's seriously, seriously funny. ;-) Go to the Demon Lung / Gypsy Witch / Lotus gig tonight @ Yayo Taco, which is now back open after a short time closure by the Health Dept. Come on out on a Monday night and check out some cool bands and order up some grub to eat, because now that they had to clean up the kitchen for the Health Dept., the food is probably safer to eat now than it ever has been! hahaha See ya there! Yeah, I'm a very lucky man indeed! ;-) I just finished up with a Vegascendents practice, for some gig we have coming up somewhere with somebody, and I was reminded by Senor Tyson that the final mixed down, fully mastered Aluminum Falcon CD was sitting in my inbox, waiting to be heard, and I'm listening to it now, and I gotta say I'm pretty impressed. It's not as good or as cool as your band, of course, but I like it anyways! ;-) Listening to these mp3's replaces those Unfair Fight mp3's I've been rocking as of late, from their upcoming EP release, which is going to be nothing short of incredible. This one's going down in the History books, that's for sure. And those Unfair Fight mp3's replaced those No More Saints mp3's that I got from the download card that came with the Halloween colored orange and black vinyl record they sent me through the mail (Thanks Guys!), and those mp3's replaced the Dirty Panties mp3's I was listening to after buying, yes BUYING, their CD from the Squid Hat Records guys who were manning their merch booth at that Bikini Bar gig. See? I support the Scene! LOL And, bringing this all to full closure, those Dirty Panties mp3's replaced those Fat Dukes Of Fuck mp3's that I was rocking religiously ever since I got their CD Honey From The Lips Of An Angel in the mail. Yeah, all sorts of new Music in my Life, which just makes me a very happy camper indeed. Reviews on all of it forthcoming, just as soon as I find the time to do it all. The whole point of me coming on here and typing away is to tell you about the gig last night @ Favorites. It was cool, despite the fact there were a few worthless pieces of shit in attendance that I just wanted to level. It took every bit of my being not to just go up to them and spit in their face and smash them one something proper, but I didn't, because it was Dean's first show @ Favorite's and I didn't wanna fuck things up for him with the Drama. Lemme catch you ass spelunkers somewhere else though and things will be different, I can promise you that. Despite all of this BS I had a really good time. Nate and Angie took real good care of us, we got paid a surprisingly large amount of money, and the bands were OK, although I don't think I'll have anything to do with Roid Rage from here on out. Besides all the ex-Deth Kids scumbags they have as fans, friends, whatever, they also have some of the aforementioned worthless pieces of shit in their inner circle, so I'll stay as far away from them as much as possible and avoid that Drama like the AIDS disease it is. Mersa were good but man do they need a singer... lol Watching Bob skateboard around inside the bar is always fun, and after his little disappearing act (where was he and why?) the night ended @ Filipito's eating tacos, with Bob doing his best to get us thrown out of the place by flashing drunken blonde bimbos in the drive-thru and by playing dodge ball inside the joint. Don't ask. OK. I think I'm gonna go to the carniceria and grab some pollo and get my BBQ on before the Surrounded By Thieves gig tonight @ Favorites. Again, there's a bunch of other cool things going on tonight, like that Abyssinians show @ the Silverton (Fuuuck), Scarlett @ the Underground, the Happy Campers / 3d6 gig @ the Bikini Bar, and I even think Fiona Apple is playing tonight too, but the gig @ Favorite's is the place to be at tonight. A better trio of Local talent you won't find. Surrounded By Thieves exemplify the whole Punk Rock D.I.Y. ethos and this celebration for their latest release should be a fantastic time for all who attend. All the bands are expected to kick mucho ass tonight. I mean, the Tinglerz kill it each and every time they play, as do the Seriouslys, but they will be debuting a new drummer who's pretty darn cute looking, if I do say so myself, so yeah, as if you needed any more incentive to get off your ass and out from behind your computer, come listen to some good music and look at some unobtainable cute band members! LOL Every band member in every band is spoken for, with an assortment of girlfriends, boyfriends and wives as partners, so all you can do is looky looky - no touchy touchy! Well, maybe a little touchy touchy if nobody's looking... heh heh. So yeah, see you @ Favorites tonight. You can't miss me. I'll be the guy up front watching the bands with a camera in my hands. Say cheese! :-) |
