Las Vegas is beautiful at night, especially when you're driving in a brand new 2005 Nissan Ultima in the pre-dawn hours. When you're ears are popping and you're zooming past Zzyzyx Rd. at like 100 mph and you're racing down the hill and you can see the lights at Primm illuminating your way into the valley, sometimes it's pretty cool. So yeah, I just got back from California (don't ask) and I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things here in town. Lots of shows coming up, some better than others, and I'm hoping to see a few people at some of them. I've gotten confirmation from a few bands about doing some Interviews with them (3 local bands and 2 national bands) and I'm getting a great response from the labels about my Reviews. All this good stuff makes it hard to think about lending my talents to some worthy band here in town. I've turned down numerous requests to join up and jam with people, both here and in California, but I'm not sure why. I guess I just wasn't ready yet, and I'm not really sure if I am ready for it now. Time will tell won't it? Anyways, check out the Gig Listings page for some updated show info, and I'll see you all in a bit.

Damn... your computer crashes and look at all the fun you miss out on. I totally spaced on going to see Bullet Train To Vegas this past weekend. Boooooo! I was so busy re-installing and configuring my computer (and lamenting the loss of some of my data files) that I completely forgot about that band playing. I hate when that happens. Factor into that equation the fact that I'm sick as a dog and you'll get an idea of where my head is at, which is heavily sedated and very medicated. Lots of people have complimented me on my Tag Message Board, and I see that Jesse even posted something on it. I'm flattered that he even bothers to check my web site out. The last time I went to his bands web site it was a train wreck of a mess. Nothing worked, the pictures sucked and Roxie was posting to herself on the Message Board. D00D, here's the news flash that I know you missed out on:
I'M NOT MAD ABOUT BEING KICKED OUT OF THE LOUD PIPES There it is for you, in nice bold 14 point font. Get over it yourself. If I believed everything that everyone has been telling me about you Jesse, I'd have an even lower opinion of you than I already do. I could make a business out of correcting inaccuracies and myths being perpetrated about me and the band, but what for? I don't care, and anyone that has bothered to talk to me knows this is how I've always felt about the deception from the beginning. Ask Tony. Ask Pitt. This is all so funny, isn't it? I wasn't upset when they told me, nor was I upset when you told me a few days later. Why I can still remember how you begged me to join your band, promising me that you'd buy me a drum set, pay me to play gigs and just generally doing anything you could to get me to play with you. How many times did you tell me I was the best drummer you ever played with. Do you remember all that Jesse? And you think I'm upset over getting kicked out of the band? Sorry but the answer is no. You needed me buddy, not vice versa. Phooey. The fact that I dedicated even this much space to addressing this topic is idiotic. Go about your business and I'll go about mine, and never the two shall meet, OK? OK. Good luck playing with Brendan from Absent Minded on guitar, good luck with your 'real' job, good luck with getting to out of state shows without Pitt's van, and good luck raising the money to go to New Orleans. I posted a new Music reviews page, some old (The Half Empties, Sin City Ghouls, Descendents, Dirty Babies), some new (Agnostic Front, Sum 41, Elvis Costello and the In Honor compilation), all equally vapid and devoid of thought. I also updated the Links page, as well as added some old Show Reviews that I found lying around (Infestshit / The Heart Attacks @ Balcony Lights being my favorite). Loads of good shows coming up this weekend and next week... hope to see you all at some of the gigs. I felt kinda bad when I heard that Tony's pad had caught on fire and burned to the ground. I mean, the guy lost everything he owns, ya know? I fought off the urges to make jokes about how vampires and fire just don't mix and I put the thoughts of karmic retribution out of my head. I chalked it up to a bit of bad luck. But a lot of small, insignificant things happening at once sure do make you think. It's Halloween season... I believe in curses! LOL Jesse called me a bit ago and told me I should just give it up. What it is I'm supposed to give up is uncertain, but as soon as I figure it out I will let you all know. Anyways, still tweaking the look of the web site... fucking with the lay outs and stuff... pretty soon I'll be ready to start adding NEW content to this site. What a concept. I updated the Gigs Listing page (as always) and I'm adding some more of the older stuff (mostly Show Reviews pages like Manic Hispanic, Infestshit, Social Distortion). Hollywood Shane told me about a killer show this weekend in L.A. that was a benefit show for Gil T. from Top Jimmy And The Rhythm Pigs, who was recently diagnosed with cancer, and I remember him and the band fondly. Top Jimmy himself passed away right here in Vegas, and it got me to thinking. Has it really been that long? Blue Monday nights at the Cathay De Grande? Fuck! As if the wording on the new Clash DVD wasn't bad enough (25 Year Anniversary? Ouch!) Oh well... we're all getting older... Rodney Dangerfield is gone... and I think I can hear a hurricane coming on the horizon. Fuck this. I'm heading to the cellar to hide.
Nothing much going on around here. I've just been tweaking the web site and getting the layout correct and the backgrounds uniform. I also made sure to hyperlink all the bands that are mentioned on this website, so that when you see a bands name on my website, you can click on that name and be magically transported to their official websites. What a deal. I got no plans to do anything, and I got no plans to go to shows. I'm knee deep on working on my web site, having fun trying to keep all the fonts and background preferences remembered, and burning a bunch of Clash bootlegs for my new friend Glen in Idaho! (Howdy!) So if anyone needs to get a hold of me you know what you have to do. I updated everything, and even added this nifty little tag board thingy to the left here, since the message board is / was such a hit... LOL. Leave me strange and wondrous messages... I may even reply! Woo Ho0!
