![]() Ladies and Gentlemen... it's the return of "that one guy in that one shitty band that nobody likes"... hahahahahahahahahaha... bringing up shit from 3 years ago like anybody still gives a fuck about it, like anybody but him and his butt hurt crew even remember WTF went on that epic day of wasted time! hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Really dude? You got nothing better to do with your time than to come on here and post shitty comments about things you didn't have the nerve to say 3 years ago?? Really? Jeezus... you got issues!! At least you're no longer hanging around with that one loser BFF of yours anymore. Did he hop on a train and out of your life - again! LOL After a great weekend in Cali, killing it with Lean 13's first out of state gig @the Doll Hut, where the band played soooooo good they were asked to make an appearance on the KaoticRadio.com show early Sat. morning, which turned out to be pretty cool. The guys sounded good and didn't come off sounding too stupid, which was such a relief... heh heh They even played both the Lean 13 songs from our Bandcamp page, which you can go to by clicking here. I couldn't do the show myself because I left right after the gig Fri. to head south to Poway where we were staying the night, but I wished I would've stayed in the hood for a bit longer. Trying to find late night tacos in suburbia was a fucking nightmare of epic proportions. Hours later I surrendered to the In-N-Out drive through before calling it a night. Poway can bite me. Seriously. ![]() Woke up sleeping in somebody else's bed which is always weird. Listened to the guys do the KaoticRadio.com show while everybody else was getting ready to go to Comic Con and get their Nerd on. After another strange day of taco failure and NOT going to the beach, meeting up with the guys in Lean 13, finding a magical Dead Kennedys tee shirt on the hood of my car, and cursing the city of Poway at every chance I got, and once the nerds got back from Comic Con, we all headed down the 15 to the NE part of San Diego to the Til-Two Club for the gig, which was a drunken epic wreck. When you wake up at 7:30 in the morning and find your bass player drinking scotch, you pretty much know at that point that the gig is going to suck... hahahaha Oh well. It's not like I'm a member of either band anymore, as I handed in my resignation immediately after both sets. Problem was, neither band accepted it! LOL Oh well. It was a beautiful night, I was in California, hanging out with my friends, being silly, I mean, what did I have to complain about, ya know? After hanging out for a bit while everyone just chatted and el oh el'd and took selfies with each other, I said my good byes to everyone and grabbed some grub before heading back to Poway to crash out while watching the Watchmen. Ironic, huh? LOL The next day I woke up to a practically empty place, because everyone woke up early and just took off to do whatever it was they were doing that day. Me? I was heading back to Vegas. I was tired. I'm getting too old for this shit... LOL Gorgeous drive through the desert with little to no traffic. 120 degrees at one point during the drive. I love this place. :) And oh... that thing I alluded to earlier... the guy from the past trolling for attention and making all that infernal racket... well, I think you can figure out who it is... can't you?? hahahahaha

Seems like all I ever do with the website nowadays is just update shit and talk about gigs my bands are playing. Nothing locally interests me. All the gigs are mediocre and boring. I mean, I added this Latest Additions column thingy to the right here, to keep you updated on what's been added to the site that I don't have time or want to talk about, but it's not because I'm so busy practicing or going to gigs. Oh well. Whatever. Continuing in that predictable tradition. I'm back in CA this weekend for a round of gigs, 2 gigs with 3 bands, which is always FUN!, with an emphasis on the word FUN! ;)
First gig is with Lean 13 Fri. night in Anaheim @Doll Hut with a bunch of out of town bands on the bill. No Local support whatsoever. FUN! Hopefully I'll be able to watch the Disneyland Fireworks from the parking lot like I did last week when I was there for a Headnoise gig, which was cool BTW. Goon's Army killed it, crazy energetic good, and we got to play with the Belligerent Buzzards again, which was a treat! Sat. night's gig is in San Diego for Cover Con with Vegascendents, Vegas Threat, and our friends in Generator, a Bad Religion tribute band. The "fun" part of the evening is that we're all playing with a NOFX cover band - FUN! hahahaha Hopefully I'll be able to get some great tacos while I'm down San Diego way. I wanna put my toes in the ocean too. I'm spending a lot of time in Cali lately. I should probably just move back there... 5 different flyers for 1 band playing 1 event... must be a pretty good band and event, right? LOL
You know the drill! This month's edition of TV Party Tonight! at the Double Clown features the skate movie classic Dogtown And Z-Boys, which is being brought to you by Blue Tile Lounge Events, and featuring everybody's favorite new band Lean 13. DJ's Fish and Atomic will be there doing what they do, and, as always, there will be free popcorn. :) There was a hilarious negotiation between Dean from BTLE and Lean 13's Manager Christi ("Talk to our Manager!" hahahaha), but the bottom line is that even though we're not a Skate Rock band in any way, shape, or form, we'll be there representing. We took this gig at the last minute and I'm looking at it as nothing more than a glorified practice, but it should still be fun. The last TV Party Tonight! event I did with the Vegascendents was pretty fun! I ate popcorn, drank soda, smoked cloves, and played drums - it was great. Being sober sucks! hahahaha Then the next day I'm off to Cali for another round of Headnoise gigs, this time at The Doll Hut. I'd say 'see ya'all there' but we all know that's not gonna happen... lol ![]() What a great weekend!! Friday night's Headnoise gig @Cafe Nela was the shit! Cafe Nela is a cool little funky place that belongs to the most Punk Rock female I've ever met in my Life who's name I believe was Shirley! ha ha ha Puro loca veterana that's for sure! Orale! Cafe Nela is her old house that is now converted into a beer garden (legal term) with a small bar and a stage for bands to play on - it's great! There's crazy art flourishes everywhere, paintings, sculptures, whatnot, and the musical diversity of the place is impressive, everything from Jazz to Cumbia bands and everything in between have played there or are going to play there. Go to www.cafenela.net for more info about the place, and if you're in a band, I definitely highly recommend that you book a gig here. Like the Cafe Nela Facebook page by clicking here. Don't be scared of the neighborhood, parking is a bitch but if you get there early it's OK. Check out the SalvaMex place right next door while you're there. Great Salvadorean / Mexican food there. You'll thank me for it later. ;) ![]() The bands that played were interesting. The Belligerent Buzzards were an old school Cathay de Grande $2 Tuesdays kind of band, with a drummer that was older than me! He told me he was 73 years old, he was sporting a full on colored mohawk, and was barely breaking a sweat after the band's set was done. Inspirational that's for sure! Check them out if you get the chance. They're pretty good in a "we don't care that much" kind of way. Holokaust were as bruuuuuuutttaaaaaaalllllllllllll and as LOUD as always (D-Beat 4 Lyfe), and Underground Alliance killed it like they always do. I didn't get a chance to get any pix of the bands because I was outside chatting with everyone and then afterwards Headnoise were interviewed by Jet from Blast TV for an upcoming show episode. My name is Gilbert. I play drums and eat tacos. hahahahaha I really had nothing else to say to a Christian Punk interviewer about a Christian Punk band I'm in... heh heh Fun night. Headnoise played an actual Heavy Metal gig on Saturday night @Angel City, and I'm still not sure why! LOL They fucking loved us though, and we made a lot of new friends and spent a lot of time hanging out with them and all our old friends who made the trek out to see us play. Special shout out to Tracy and Saul Of Tarsus for being such cool dudes. Was that a Dystopia cover I heard you guys play? hahaha Sick! After the gig was over and everyone had already left, and after Preston and I were the only ones still standing in the parking lot (we do that alot), I jumped in my ride and made the 4+ hour drive back Home. Something invigorating about watching the sun rise over Stateline... What did I do on the 4th of July you ask? Oh, I was violently ill in bed all day, unable to do anything. Kind of over the whole fireworks go U.S.A.! thing anyways. Thanks Trump.
My sick ass is off to California this weekend for some Headnoise gigs - one at Cafe Nela in LA and then another at Angel City in Bellflower - if you're in the area, stop by, and if you're not, fuck you. If you're lucky enough to be in Vegas this weekend, well, the no-brainer place to be is at Blue Tile Lounge Events yearly Skate Or Dive! festival on Saturday, with almost the same bands that played it the year before - McRad, Fastplants, Since We Were Kids, Stale Phish, and what seems like Mersa' s annual only gig of the year... lol, all going down at The Dive bar. That's where I'd be if I was in town, but if you're into diversity in music and all that strange stuff, you could go to the nice and freshly AC'd Double Clown Saloon for the Squidhat Records thingy going on there, featuring one of the only bands worth a shit on that label - Guilty By Association, who are playing with Lethal Injection, some Richardson Richardson thing, and the return of Surrounded By Thieves, who were always one of my fave bands from back in the days so yeah, get off your lazy ass and do something and Be More Than A Witness and all that ancient rubbish. ;) |
