Some people, Local cunts in bands especially, have nothing better to do with their time apparently then to whine incessantly about silly bullshit like the current controversy with the Beauty Bar and their "domestic violence" sign.
Jesus fucking Christ. Really?
Am I the only one who remembers the phrase "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me"? Am I the only one who saw the sign as a tasteless, classless joke, but nothing more than that? And the spin of saying it's also anti-immigrant and racist because it's written on a Mexican beer companies promo board was just pathetic and a sign of the times and a big reason why I just want to walk around Downtown and machete people. Jeez! You'd think someone anally raped their Grandmothers in public while people stood around and cheered with the way some people are carrying on about the thing. The talk of boycotting the place is a joke, especially by scenester whores who once bounced from cock to cock all over that place, and girls in band pushing their PC femiNazi agenda down everyone's throat, kind of like how vegans have to remind you every 10 minutes that they're vegan and can't eat certain foods. You lazy fucks aren't going to boycott the place and you know it. It's "too cool of a spot" to do that because where else Downtown are you going to get ripped off on watered down drinks, huh?
Watching the Beauty Bar backpedal and then kowtow to the social media backlash was disgusting. First they were all, 'what's the problem? It's a joke', then they were very lawyer-esque with their 'we'd like to issue a formal apology' statement, where they made a point to say that the terrible person who wrote the sign was fired immediately, which I know for a fact is not true in any way, shape or form, but it seemed to keep the wolves at bay if only for a little bit. I'm sure the boycott for this place will quickly be forgotten, just like the boycott that sprang up and was quickly forgotten when that girl said the owner and his friends made them kiss them on the cheeks before they let them in, and when they refused, he kicked them out and threw their entrance fee back at them angrily. Funny thing video is, because you really can't say something happened when it's not on the video. The girl was a drama queen liar and quickly apologized for the trouble she caused when the owner of the Beauty Bar threatened to sue for slander. Good for him.
And yeah, I know that the picture accompanying this rant isn't the same picture of the sign that was in front of the Beauty Bar and making the rounds of the Interwebs. Nope, this picture is from another bar that this happened to in Philadelphia a few years ago. Click here to read that story. You see, it's not even original. Nothing in Vegas is. Ugh. So annoying. Soooooo stupid.
I never update this thing anymore. I really don't.
Part of it's due to my medical malady. It's really taken it's toll on me. I'm not like the other attention whores who throw pity parties for themselves on Facebook by announcing their health issues in public on there. No, I just dealt with it and keep my fingers crossed that I can get things back to normal around here. Hopefully.
Another reason why I don't update this thing anymore is that my musical projects have all suddenly come to fruition all at once. The Civilians have all sorts of stuff going on (next gig is the Punk Rock BBQ @ the Bunkhouse on April 30th), the Vegascendents have roared back into my life once again with a few really cool gigs in the Reno / Lake Tahoe area the weekend of May 6th - 7th, and then there's this incredible 'Punk Mock Bowling' gig Jeremy is setting up for May 26th @ the Dive with a few Local cover bands, including the debut of Mock Sparrer!! Oh yeah, and I've been driving to California on the weekends to play with Youth Gone Mad, who have some crazy / incredible things coming up (hopefully) so yeah, not really a lot of time to talk shit about all the ghey stuff going on in our beloved Local scene. Bar Rescue redoing Champagnes? This is what concerns you all? Hell, if half of the people who are whining about the renovations being done to that chlamydia soaked shit stain hipster bar on Facebook actually drank there first, instead of spending the majority of their booze bucks on the delusion that they're not getting older but hipper while hanging out with the young and ignorant Dipsters downtown, then maybe that place could of stayed open on it's own, but there I go making sense again, telling the Truth, and that's a big no-no in this town, so I'll stop now.
I only came on here to tell you that Life is good, my friends are awesome, and tacos! LOL
Oh, and to tell you that I posted the Pictures I took of The Dickies @ the House of Boooooo's - click here to check them out. And I also posted the Pictures of Leather Lungs doing the Pints With Punks radio show, and you can click here to check those out. I also posted the Pictures that Bob and I took of Alan Six doing the Pints With Punks show as well, and you can click here to check those out. I could of sworn I had already posted them but apparently I didn't. I also posted some Pictures I took of The Generators playing @ the Beauty Bar, and you can click here to check those out. They're from the weekend The Civilians played some gigs with them in AZ. and NV. Fun weekend. I apparently got a speeding ticket that weekend in AZ. as well, which was... funny???
My little buddy and band mate Matt did a Gig Review of a Nickel Fucking Beer night gig @ the Beauty Bar with The Mapes, The Pluralses, and Jerk! (of course), and you can click here to read that. It's a booze infused good read. I got a few Gig Reviews I gotta finish up myself, just as soon as I edit the Pictures to go with them. Phooey.
Oh yeah - I slagged off this weird Bad Manners greatest hits release called Legends, and you can click here to read that. I don't know what I was thinking when I got that thing... LOL
