Sooooooo... anybody else besides me get into an auto accident yesterday? Hope not. "My neck... my back... my neck and my back!' ;-) Peter Murphy is tonight @ the LVCS, but I don't think I'm going. I got a review link for his latest album Lion, and I haven't eve listened to it yet. The single from it, Hang Up, is pretty OK, drones a bit but whatever, and there was a lame interview posted in the RJ (click here to read that), but I dunno... I saw him doing the all Bauhaus set, I've seen him the past 2 times here doing his solo stuff, always at the dreaded LVCS venue, which, let's face it, sucks to see a gig at, so I think I'm just gonna pass on this one and stay in and get shit done on the website. Does it suck that I'd rather do that than to go see Peter Murphy? LOL Whatever. I've been rocking that new Quitters release pretty hard as of late, trying to give it a write up but not really sure what I want to say about it. I mean, how many different ways can you say, 'doesn't suck as much as I thought it would'? LOL I keeeeed, I keeeeeed, but seriously, it's a great album. LOVE that blue vinyl!! Le swoon. <3 Plus, I have some really interesting Civilians demos for new songs that we just kind of pulled out of our asses the other night at practice, so I'd like to get to mixing those up and posting them rather than standing around and posing at Peter Murphy. Just can't do it tonight. Nope. Bleh. Speaking of The Quitters, tomorrow morning @ 10, on the Squid Hat Records Facebook page, which you can go to by clicking here, they're gonna world preview the video for the song Hipster, which is probably the weakest song off of their latest release, Contributing To Erosion. Even songs talking shit about Hipsters bores me, so the harshness might be mine. Anyways, 10 am tomorrow, go to the Facebook page and check out the video for Hipster from the Quitters. Should be interesting. :-)

So I dunno how much further you can run with this. The whole Sleazy O'Hara thing has become beyond pathetic at this point, with his complete backpedal on what he said and did, and now, he's conveniently claiming "amnesia" as to the night's events, which, to normal people like you and I means, is that he was black out, shit faced drunk, and not able to remember shit because of it. The onslaught of independent witnesses coming forward and reminding that jagoff of what he said and did was quick, fast, and brutal - good job people! Anyways, I had a whole bunch of stuff that I was going to post on the website, but since Mr. O'Hara has spent the better 48 hours now royally kissing Roxie's ass, I guess we can all go back to just watching him make an ass of himself from a distance while feeling sorry for him. Remember Steve - it's not what you did then, but what you're doing now, that people judge you by. Anyways, to commemorate this prestigious event, and to constantly remind you of what a dickhead you are Sleazy, I made this special slideshow of all the stupid stuff people were sending in to me about you, stuff that just highlights your "stupiedity" and will serve as a constant reminder of all that. Since I know that this isn't the end of it, I will be constantly updating it with all the examples that people send in to me all the time. Keep those screen grabs coming - they'll all be added to the slideshow, I promise! :-) Yeah, slideshow... heh heh I've had the ability to do them on here for a while now, just never thought of doing it, but while sitting @ Scarlett on Sat. night, listening to waaaaaayyy too much Nitzer Ebb, I watched as Jesse "Jotoboy" Nabers was using the slideshow option to show these girls who were all there for Monica's B-Day party, all these crazy cool shots he's taken of various chicks that they all knew, and I thought to myself, I couldn't do that from my website that smoothly with my setup right now, so I woke up the next day and just re-did everything with the slideshow format. I think it looks better, and you can click here to check it all out for yourself. I also added a few more new collections, like the few photos I took of Visual Discrimination that night The Civilians played with them @ The Doll Hut, and you can click here to check them out. There's also some cool video footage taken by somebody of Visual Discrimination playing that night, and you can click here to check that out and to see the Singer rocking out and sporting a Civilians shirt. Apparently every band that played that night was filmed, except for us, of course! LOL Oh well. Maybe the footage will come out eventually... hopefully. I also added some pictures I took of a band called Bitten Beans, a band that S.F.T. played with one weekend out in Riverside a while back, and you can click here to check those pix out too if ya want. No reason why I chose to to do those pix in particular, except that my D & D dice told me to. ;-) 2/3's of the 4th of July pictures are up, and the RanDUMB pix are caught up to May, and you have to look those up yourself if you're interested in seeing them. Those are more for the people who were there, people I hang out with, and not just for anyone, but they're there - you gotta make the effort to see them. ;-) Ya know, despite the "stupiedity" that went on Fri., I had a really good time. All the bands I saw were incredible, although I left while All Eyes West were playing, because I was dying of thirst and couldn't get a drink from the bar for some reason. Whatever. Seemed like everybody in the place was friends with someone in that band, which was odd. Illicitor definitely lived up to the hype, that's for sure! They were pretty damn impressive, and had everybody around me all a buzz with what they were throwing down. Cool band. Nice story about playing with the Loud Pipes in the Huntridge lobby 17 years ago from the guitar player. ;-) Mercy Music were incredible, as always, but I wish that their drummer would put forth an effort and actually hit those drums harder than he does. Boooooo. And Fredward, wow! Fredward just fucking killed it, putting on a dazzling display of musicianship and pure, unadulterated emotions upon the Triple B's stage. Part Fugazi, part Built To Spill, they were mesmerizing and had the attention of everyone in the place from note one onwards. It was cool to finally see them play, as opposed to all the times I've only heard them play @ MDV when I'm rehearsing there. They were great and easily stole the show with their fantastic performance. Majorly hyped on Fredward right now, which is better than being hyped on bands that cover NOFX and Weezer albums... LOL Everything's updated. I'm gonna go back to editing pictures before the Civilians practice starts... It's all pretty much over now, but man, was that some EPIC 'stupiedity' coming out of the mouth of that retarded, pill popping, drunken fool Sleazy O'Hara (Thanx Xtal for his new nickname!) this morning. If you missed out on it you suck! LOL It was a good ol' fashioned Internet Troll public ass whupping, and it's been a long time coming and well deserved. I feel nothing but Pity and Shame for everyone in his world, having to put up with his antics and being publicly associated with him. Don't you people realize that he needs help? HelllOOooooo?? Of course, once he got called out on his behavior, he deleted it all (heeding the good advice from Bobby, perhaps?) but I managed to get all the posts captured and posted up on here. The comments in red are obviously mine. :-) Thanx to everyone for helping out in all of this. You all know who you are... <3 And then things got interesting, because by this time, my phone was blowing up with messages and texts, and we all started jumping in on things and having a fun time pointing out to good ol' Sleazy just what a delusional, horses ass he is, and, of course, things went as expected... And that's where it ended. He deleted it all and re-created his profile from scratch, making sure to ban anyone who dared to comment with fact and logic on that thread from being his Friend on there. I was surprised that I was able to comment on the thread at all, because he had me banned after I called him out on saying that he hoped Cancer killed Clay, and for some personal BS that goes back to the Suite 666 days that I'm sure he doesn't even remember, that fucking piece of shit loser. To Be Continued...
Tonight's the night! Hopefully everyone's fingers have healed up, and The Loud Pipes are ready to bring it and kill it tonight @ Triple B's, and if you could be there that sure would be nice of you. :-) Headliners Planes Mistaken For Stars have a pretty interesting history musically, and after recently regrouping after a 2 year hiatus, they're back and gigging around and tearing shit up, so that's gonna be cool to see. Fredward are a great band too, and if you haven't gotten their 4 song demo from Bandcamp yet, do yourself a favor and click here and get that shit pronto! It's absolutely Free and you'll thank me for it later. Mercy Music is also playing, hopefully bringing the Rawk and not the Beardcore, but we'll see. And according to the Las Vegas Weekly, we're also playing with the Best New Band in Las Vegas - Illicitor! Don't believe me? Just click right here and check it out for yourself. Cool drawing, BTW. They have a very Emo sounding song called City Of Gold available for listening on their website, and you can click here to give it a listen and check it out yourself. I'm looking forward to checking them out. It's gonna be a fun gig - don't miss out on this one! Tues. gig @ the Dive was fun! The Kountry Kittens Burlesque troop had to cancel out of the gig, which upset a few Local representatives in the Burlesque community, so after being given the option to cancel out of the gig ourselves, the 2 bands decided to play anyways. The All-Togethers were a real mellow Beardcore band without the beards, well, at least on 2 of them anyways. They had a couple of girls on cello, fiddle, bass, I dunno, I wasn't really paying attention, but people dug them, so that was cool. Vegascendents played and it felt pretty good. Despite the plethora of mistakes, we did OK. People dug us. I got drunk. Win. :-) Everything is updated. I posted a couple of Music Reviews, one from Karl Bakla on the latest flogging of the Christian Death corpse, and you can click here to read that, and the other on the final release from Local stalwarts The Seriouslys, and you can click here to check that out. Have a great weekend! I know I will! :-) So I'm standing outside of the Artistic Armory, double Jameson's on the rocks in one hand, and a chocolate banana bread cupcake in the other. I had just gotten there as The People's Whiskey were finishing up (A yellow flying V? LOL) and after avoiding a run in with one of my super crazy ex's (which is always a fun thing to do) I'm just standing around vibing heavy on what the nights headliners The Quitters were throwing down musically. It was riff heavy, it was intricate, it was diverse, it screamed and then was quiet, it was hypnotic, and it was definitely captivating. Some of the songs seemed to go on forever though. I was wishing I had stationed myself near the front of the stage area before the place got slammed with fans and friends. My friend Sarah told me I could probably work my way to the front if I wanted to, but I told her I was already focused on drinking, and I was content with just standing around and taking it all in. It sounded just fine where I was. Since it was their album release party, I assumed the Quitters were just going to play every song off their new release. I was digging what I was hearing, and I would randomly ask people, 'So, what do you think of how the band sounds?', and aside from the common comment that some of the songs seemed to go on a bit long, no one had a bad thing to say. That's fucking beautiful. All sorts of people came out to Congratulate the Quitters on their new release called Contributing To Erosion, and I'm proud to say that I was one of them. The Quitters annihilated it and I can't imagine that anyone left the Artistic Armory that night disappointed or without one of their catchy tunes stuck in their head. I had that opening song that sounded like an ambulance stuck in mine... heh heh heh Unfair Fight is playing with Illustrations, Keepsake, and In Fugue, a Local new Hardcore band that's been gigging around as of late, and they're playing @ the Artistic Armory on Sunday. Click here to go to the Facebook event page. I'd tell you to go but you're not going to, so whatever. You suck. Don't feel bad though, because I'm not going to the gig either. I unfortunately have Vegascendents practice that night for a gig we're playing @ the Dive on Tues. with some burlesque troop called The Kountry Kittens and some band called The All-Togethers, so if you got nothing better to do that night, come out to the gig and check out some boobs, both male and female! :-) The reason why The Loud Pipes cancelled both of our gigs this week was because our sissified guitar player Dave got a paper cut on his nose picking finger, and was thus unable to play the gigs this week. Waaaahhhh! LOL I dunno if anybody told Dave this, but us Loud Pipes have played gigs with some absolutely terrifying injuries and openly bleeding wounds, things much more painful and severe than a glorified hang nail. Remember when Tony got kicked in the mouth by the stage diving skinhead wearing steel toe Doc Martins and finished up the set bleeding and spitting out pieces of his teeth? I once cut my hand open across the palm of my hand and played a gig the next day bleeding into a bandana that was wrapped around my hand in a vain attempt to keep the blood from flying everywhere. Roxie once threw her shoulder out after throwing her bass around and played the next day in crazy pain. And Jesse played a gig after breaking BOTH of his ankles in a pick up basketball game he played earlier in the afternoon. Yeah, we definitely need to toughen this kid Dave up... heh heh Sorry to everyone for the missed gigs. Let's hope Dave doesn't get a blister on his ass wiping hand, otherwise we may never play another gig again! ha ha ha Sorry Dave, but I had to bust your balls on that one. :-) So yeah, it's fucking Fri. and that means it's time for the Quitters CD release party going down tonight @ the Artistic Armory!! The album is called Contributing To Erosion, you can buy it directly from the band tonight at the gig or you can buy it online (on beautiful blue colored vinyl) by clicking here, and click here for the Facebook event page with all the info you need to know about the gig. The Local band support is amazing - The People's Whiskey, TheCore. (#whocares) and The Dirty Panties, and there's seriously no other place to be tonight than at the Artistic Armory. Seriously. They've been doing a lotta press as of late promoting this release, like the KOMP Locals show, a Beardcore set for that BeardsInVegas website (the album is being streamed in it's entirety on there as well), and they even got a write up in the Review Journal, and it's good to see them get the attention and compliments that they deserve. They bust their asses off every time they play, and the success couldn't come to a nicer bunch of guys. Congrats to The Quitters on another fantastic release. It's been a long time coming. See you numbchucks tonight in the parking lot (of course). :-) Everything is updated. Why? I don't know...
