Nick was such a fantastic kid. His passing hit me deep. It was no secret to his friends that he needed dialysis in order to stay alive, and everyone knew that Nick didn't give a fuck. Hell, I saw him freak out more than a few people (mostly girls) by putting their hand on his arm to feel the machine that kept him alive. The looks on their faces was priceless. He had no kidneys, was on dialysis 24 / 7, and yet he still managed to find the strength to go see almost every band that came through town. Not because it was the cool thing to do, but because he wanted to. His love of music, Boston Hardcore especially, is legendary. I mean, he wasn't called Ducky Boy for nothing, ya know? Nick loved talking about punk rock. He lived it, ate it, and breathed it. Drinking beer, driving that bitch magnet Mustang that he loved so much, listening to music and going to shows. That was what Nick was all about. As funny as any comedian I've ever seen, with a smile that made you want to smile along with him, it's been a short time since his passing and I'm pissed that I won't get to see him again. Selfish, I know, but still. I poured many a sip of Newcastle Ale for him, while drinking in the park with some friends of his, and I suggest that you do the same. Next time you're having a beer, pour some out for Nick, and really appreciate the little things...the smiles, the laughs, the boozin', the good times. Life's too short. Don't take it for granted. It's too precious of a gift.
Memorial Services are to be held at the Palms Mortuary (Warm Springs / Eastern) this Saturday, Sept. 2 at 1 pm. The family has asked that if you have any words or stories that you would like to share, please don't hesitate to speak up. You can view Nick's Myspace profile by clicking here. I'm gonna miss you Bro. Can't wait to play The Game with you one more time, for old times sake. Save me a seat at the bar, and tell Rick I says Hello. Cheers mate. You will be missed.

There is sooo much going and and sooooooo much I wanna let you all in on, but until everything is set in concrete, I'm just gonna keep my mouth shut and say mums the word for now... it's been a long time coming. The future's so bright...
WTF happened at the Take 1 gig this Friday past? Apparently, Take 1 has a bouncer there that needs an outlet for his steroid rage or something. Glass was broken, a huge drunken melee broke out, and now there's no more punk gigs to be had there. Phooey. New Music Reviews on the latest from Nomeansno, Resilience, Supersuckers, New York Dolls, the Riot This / Bruise Violet split, Sky Blue 72, Enemy 13, Clusterfux, Venom and last but not least, Infestshit. Click here to read them all. Band wise everything's going great. I think we found our 2 guitarist, but I'm not sure yet. Infestshit has a couple of shows coming up that might peek your interest. Oct. 8 @ Community Of Friends record store with my good buddy Ben and his band of street fighting men False Cause, Oct. 21 @ The Cooler Lounge with Vegas legends F.S.P., False Cause and Dirty Sanchez, and Oct. 28 with Vice Squad and Enemy 13, from El Paso, TX. Come out and witness the intensity those guys bring. Fuck. I've been tweaking the Photos page, since a few people were complaining about not being able to find photos on there, and about some of the links not working. The layout is different now, so tell me if you like it. I also re-edited some lost photos and added them to the page, including some pictures of Suite 666, The Wastrels and the Swing Shift Side Show, which I think were never used before. In any case, click here to check them out. More to come. Finally. The last of the Drunken Debauchery stuff is up, including the photos of the Clusterfux, A Pretty Mess and Riot This. All the Links can be found to the right of these here words. The 3rd, and last, installment of the Infestshit Tour Pictures are up as well. Community Of Friends is a D.I.Y. Punk Record store that has recently opened, and you should all support it or fuck off. Click here to go to the Myspace page and learn all about it. This record store already has Hank's creepy stamp of approval, so it must be the shiz-nit. The art performance warehouse that Keil from the Vulcans has opened up is called The Louvre, and it's Myspace page can be found here. The High End Mystery Emporium had a great opening night I heard, so go here to their Myspace page and keep abreast of what those guys are up to. Fucking awesome that Vegas is suddenly getting alternatives to the usual stops on the local bar / club circuit. Better to play a record store / art space / warehouse than a smelly, smoky bar. Brian Infestshit is organizing a local benefit for Spike from D.R.I. to help pay some of the guitar players recently acquired medical bills, and is looking for bands to play the show non-gratis. Hit him up here to see if you can play, or to just offer to help out in whatever way you can. Who doesn't own a D.R.I. album, right? D.I. is playing The Cheyenne on Sat. with one of my fave local bands False Cause, so go out to the gig and buy Ben lots of shots of Jack. It will be a better show if you do. Las Vegas' # 1 Party Band 1/2 Ast are playing a kick ass LOCALS ONLY show on the 18th @ Take 1 with the Peccadilloes and False Cause. That show is not to be missed. F.S.P. are getting back together again and are playing on the 19th @ The N.Y. Cafe with Vermin From Venus and Lethal Injection. It's deja vu all over again. Go to these gigs and show support for YOUR scene, both old and new. Jupiter Shifter needs a drummer. The only requirement is to eat a bag of dicks from Rob Ruckus every now and then. Go to their Myspace page here if you can hang with the hardest working bass player in Las Vegas. Speaking of Jupiter Shifter, someone stole Kei's P.A. head and Brew's (ex-Dirty Babies) bass amp. Keep your eyes peeled for anyone selling stuff that matches that description. Payback is a mother fucker.
