Jim Monroe is pretty laid back for a legendary guy in the OC music scene. 😀 You wouldn't know him by his face but his body of work is the stuff of Legend. He's the drummer for Santos Y Sinners, runs a studio called The Racket Room Recording Studios in Santa Ana, and Headnoise has been added to the group of bands lucky enough to be working with him for our upcoming CD / vinyl release coming out later this year. I mean, the list of people Jim's worked with is amazing. Click here to check it out for yourself. I was sold at Manic Hispanic! ❤ He let me record using his kit, which sounded great, and after a miscommunication clear up regarding the drum equipment we made the most of our time all weekend with him. Songs were knocked out in 1 or 2 takes, except for Yeah Yeah Yeah, which was a pain in the butt for the others to get straight for some reason but otherwise it was smooth sailing! Don't remember how many songs were recorded but I'm pretty sure it was everything we've been playing live lately, but I have the nagging feeling we forgot a song or 2 somewhere, I dunno. It was an inspirational and learning experience to be working with a real producer in a real studio again. Can't wait for you all to hear this shit. It's gonna be game changing, that's for sure. Guaranteed.

And they say it never snows in Las Vegas... damn global warming! Thanks Trump! 😅😅😅
Not really Punk scene related, but I had to do something with these videos... and besides, things here locally are sooooo boring as of late... Oh you know, it's your classic cliche'd story of sorts. Band goes to Hollywood, to play a ridiculously famous well known established rock club on a Saturday night, with the owner of said venue in attendance, of course, on a pretty stacked bill of established bands and a few up and comers, a generational meeting of the tribes of sorts, and in a dazzling display of relaxation and a fantastic display of a well practiced and well trained team, said band just delivers on all fronts and takes no prisoners and leaves the stage with a bag full of heads as souvenirs and to the accolades and cheers from friends and family in attendance as well as the jive talk of A&R people from labels unknown pushing overly defined dreams. I mean, who knew people like this still existed? 😅 And just like in the movies, the owner of established venue was like you guys gotta play here more often and with bigger and better bands! Let's talk... Oh what a night. I just wish I wasn't sick as a dog and throwing up blood all weekend to enjoy it. 🤮 I don't even know where to begin with the thank you's for this one. Start with Rob Silva for putting the gig together and putting us on it, Karl and Hector from Spider for being the cool bro's that they are, Bob for taking care of me all weekend, Chuck the fucking animal rager guitar annihilator from Until We Die!, Farrell from Decry, Spencer from Shattered Faith (let's do that tour NOW!), David Chi and Sal for the cool pix, and thanks to everyone for coming out, especially the girl from the Rainbow who said she was gonna show up AND SHE DID... ha ha ha, and thanks to the Love of my Life for keeping me from killing people and focused on the bigger and better picture. ❤ |
