See this handsome kid over here to the left of these words? Well, he's not a kid anymore but he's always gonna be one to me, but you see him, right? I fucking LOVE him and consider him one of the brightest bulbs in the Lite Brite board that I call my Life. I've seen him through Good times, I've seen him through Bad times, and we've always remained tight through it all, so it was with a huge grin on my face and a beautiful song in my heart when I saw the text message telling me that he was getting married in a few minutes! LOL It was all a spur of the moment kind of thing, which is kind of appropriate considering we live in a City where you can get married by a Chinese Elvis impersonator or a Jewish Mr. T impersonator at 3 in the morning if ya want to, and as badly as I wanted to be there, I couldn't, because I was stuck at band practice until late, but I'd like to think I was there in Spirit! LOL Brendan is an amazing person, and I can't help but be Happy that he found someone that he loves enough to get married to, although if I would of had the opportunity I would of tried to talk him out of doing it, but that's just because I'm a bitter old homophobic poseur, and it has nothing to do with my personal beliefs on the sanctity of Marriage! LOL Anyways, congrats to Brendan and Ashley on getting hitched, and many, many happy returns to the both of ya. XOXO I know it's a bit late in being announced on here, since everyone and their Mom was commenting about it on Facebook yesterday, but anyways here's the new video from the Gashers. It's for a song called Panic off of their upcoming release Law Is Not Order. The video debut had it's own Facebook event page, but that was a bit of a disappointment as the video didn't show up at the announced time it was supposed to. Oh well. It's out now, so enjoy. :-) Anyways, everyone is bitching about it being overtly hot right now, but I mean come on, it's fucking July in Las Vegas - it's always ferociously hot here at this time! LOL Unless you just moved here like, last week, then STFU about the heat and just turn your air conditioning up a bit more. or go swimming. That's what I'm gonna do right now! Everything's updated, and there's no way in Hell I'm going to that Bouncing Souls gig on Friday, but I put the flyer up on the front page because it's the PC Punk Rock thing to do! hahaha Yeah right. I'm not going to that gig because the new album SUCKS and the Bouncing Souls have been coasting on fumes for years now. Years. I'm sure next year when they play Jock Rock Bowling it will be "Epic" and "Amazing" and all that, but maybe it's just the bitter old poseur in me talking, but I miss when the Bouncing Souls were a GOOD band, and they were liked for what they did, and not what they've done... heh heh

I had this conversation with The Captain on the 4th of July about some Facebook drama between him and I concerning why I deleted him as a Friend on there. I told him it was because of my crazy ex and it seemed like he kind of understood. I know his wife Tess certainly did. ;-) So, in casual passing, Jesse mentions that he's now contributing his photos to that Local Beardcore Emo website, and I laugh in his face and call him a Joto. He comes back with, 'Well, you never wanted my stuff. I told you you could use anything I shoot and not to worry about it.' Well, the problem with that is that he rarely gave me his stuff to post up on here, and the stuff he wanted me to use was already posted up to his Myspace or Facebook page. Why double post, ya know? I used to Link to the stuff he posted on my website but stopped because it seemed silly. Matter of fact, now that I think about it, I'm still waiting for those pictures he took from the Aluminum Falcon debut gig @ the LVCS from like 3 years ago! LOL I bugged him for those pictures for months, and finally just got tired of asking him about them. Whatever. The point I'm trying to get to is that anybody that wants to can have stuff posted on here. It's not a big deal. You just gotta be passionate and real about it - no ass kissing 'Everything is great' fluff pieces just to get you free tickets into the HOB like that other website does. No, if a band fucks up, or plays a shitty set, then call it as you see it. Don't turn a blind eye to it. Don't be a pussy and say everything was great. Bands shouldn't get butt hurt because someone gave an honest opinion of their performance. Fuck that shit. That's not how I do things around here. You should be grateful anyone was even paying attention to you playing and that they made the effort to even talk about, Positively or Negatively. And with all that, I present to you Dean from American Buckshot's Show Review of that little Pro Party gig @ Money Plays that went down this past Sat. You can click here to read it, or just go to the Show Reviews tab at the top of the page. It came out really good and hopefully I can get more stuff out of him in the future. Now if I could only say that about Bob... heh heh heh Everything is updated! Shit load of Gigs added to the Gig Calendar page. Don't forget about that Valient Thorr / Deadhand gig going down tonight @ the LVCS. I'm racing there right after practice tonight. Deadhand - don't start until I get there!! :-)
Ugh! It's Sat. morning! WTF am I doing up so early? LOL Fuck it. Lemme get some thoughts down before I forget them. If you know, you know, and I'm not gonna get too much into the details, but the thing with Ainjil is over. They found him Guilty on all charges. Maybe there is hope for believing in the system? Who knows. It won't bring those that she Loved and Lost back, but I'm Thankful that this aspect of the ordeal she's been dealing with is over. Now she can move on to the Healing process and maybe become Happy again. Not as Happy as she was, of course, but maybe just a little Happy. She deserves at least that. <3 So does anyone wanna tell me what happened at last nights Mapes gig? LOL Horn players? Really? Wowsers. Sounds like I missed out on a really fun time! I heard the same thing about that Fat Dukes Of Fuck gig @ the Double Clown. I heard they did some damage to that piss hole place they played at, and sprayed the crowd with a toilet paper shooting air gun. Again, sounds like I missed out on some good clean fun!! And is Turbo the new official drummer for the Seriouslys? Do I wanna know what happened with Emma? Was she sick or something? Bob was there taking pictures for the website, so look for those to be up here by sometime next year or whenever he gives them to me. Tonight is the Waste Your Life Family Barbecue shindig going down @ the Bunkhouse, but I don't think I'll be going to that. Too artsy for me. Holding Onto Sound, Deadhand, Highdro, Left Unattended and One Pin Short are playing, which is cool, but then you have like 300 Indie bands that I've never heard of playing as well, so yeah, I'm gonna stay away from that thing, even though I'd like to hang with Her while she's there working the place. We could make fun of the Ho's like we did at the Jesus And Mary Chain show! ;-) And besides, I would only go to the Bunkhouse tonight to see Deadhand, but I'm totally seeing them on Monday. With Valient Thorr. Yeah, Valient Thorr. Pretty cool band. Monster guitar riffs and fat, loud and fast paced music all fronted by a guy who's seriously a disturbed motivational speaker or a demented Preacher or maybe both, I dunno... LOL They're big among the Hipster Elite, which makes me wary of the band, because if those type of people like them, then something must be wrong with the band, right? heh heh Of course, there was a shitload of those Downtown Dooshbags at that Melt Banana gig @ the Bunkhouse a while back, and there's nothing wrong with that band, so maybe I'm off in my assessment. I'm not good at guesstimating why Hipsters like what they do. Maybe it's the Beard thing. I think every guy in Valient Thorr sports a beard, but that don't make them Beardcore - oh no! Valient Thorr are a fucking kick ass Punk Rock and Roll band, combining the best of bands like Turbonegro, AC/DC and early Metallica, and they're capable of laying waste to a venue at any moments notice. You do not wanna miss these guys. It's gonna be a sick gig. And the chance to see Deadhand on a big stage just sweetens the deal. I haven't seen those guys in a while, so yeah, I'm definitely overdue for a Deadhand fix. It's gonna be a great night. Come on out. You won't regret it. Promise. ;-) Speaking of regret, how funny is that thing about Harley from the Cro-Mags stabbing his replacement in the band? hahaha I've been pretty fucking pissed off about being kicked out of a band I've been in but never enough to stab someone! LOL Beat the shit out of, sure, but stab? Nope! hee hee hee Anyways, you can read all about it by clicking here or looking it up via Google yourself, you lazy bastards. :-) Everything is updated. I just added the Pictures I took on the 4th of July up to the website, and you can click here to check them out. Only interesting if you were there or if you're a nosy ex trying to keep up on what I'm up to... heh heh 4th of July - you know I love it! <3 The turnout at Casa de Amoroso this year was huge. Tons of people there, and everyone just kept bringing these awesomely tasting dishes and meats and deserts, and so I was literally forced to eat a little bit of everything that was there - like, gun to my head forced to eat! ha ha ha And with the huge mass of fireworks assembled in one place and gallons of all sorts of adult beverages flowing like water all day and night, well, it all just added up to one fucking fantastic event, that's for sure. From what I can remember of it I had a pretty good time. I ran into Joe Ramone there, who I haven't seen since 1998 or something like that. It's great running into old friends like that because you just sort of pick right up where you left off and just start acting like a couple of drunken idiots having fun, just like we did when our bodies were a bit thinner and the hair on our heads a bit thicker. ;-) Yeah, always fun catching up, like I did with Hugh, aka Jenny's Dad, who is quite the charecter and a really cool guy to boot. Haven't seen him in a while and he extended his always open offer to come see him in Idaho or wherever he lives for some hunting and fishing and shit like that. I may take him up on it some day, who knows? ;-) Yeah, the Holiday celebration was a boisterous time. I tried to take pictures of everything going on but I was way too under the influence to do anything competently, but I tried, and I think I snapped over 500 photos of the night, and maybe 25 of them are useable? hahaha Oh who fucking cares! Sometimes it's not about the photographic evidence of the event, but more like the memory of the feeling you get when you're in the midst of it, surrounded by Friends and Family and feeling the Love all around, and that's something a picture can never capture. Nope. Hope you had a great 4th of July, and that all of your limbs and appendages are all intact. :-) It's Tuesday morning, I'm catching up on emails that I'm like a few months behind in answering, and I'm checking out the video of the Queen concert that went down this past weekend in Russia somewhere. The band had Adam Lambert, some homo that's apparently only famous for being gay and being on American Idol I think, standing in for Freddie and the bands performance is just terrible. Everything is played too slow, the 2 founding members Brian and Roger who took place in this farce look terrible, and yeah, it just sucks. That dude Adam Lambert can sing, but he sounds more like Tim Finn from Split Enz than the fabulous Mr. Mercury. Ugh. Oh well. Sometimes it's just sad to see a band you adore look so out of place. The smell of Desperation is deep. 14:58 and counting... My last post included a new video from The Dirty Panties, and today I have a new video from Demon Lung to talk about! :-) I shared that Dirty Panties video on the onethirtyeight.org Facebook page, and was surprised that I got those 2 negative comments about it. Oh well. I dunno how people will react to this video after seeing it, but it should be interesting, because this video is twisted! ha ha ha It's from the just released album called Pareidolia by Demon Lung, and it's for a song called Lament Code. I have no idea what the song is about, but it sounds slow and heavy ala later day Corrosion Of Conformity or even Type O Negative, I dunno. The video for the song is just nightmarish, and a great job of using CGI effects and cool puppetry to create one amazing looking video that I'm almost sure was not too expensive to make, although it sure does look like it. Kudos on a job well done on this one Demon Lung. You've certainly set the bar very high for the next Local band who does a video, that's for sure. :-) Speaking of videos, the Gashers are going to premier their new video Panic, from their upcoming Squid Hat Records release called Law Is Not Order, next Tuesday @ 11 am on Facebook, and you can click here to go to the Events Page for it and get yourself in the loop. I'm told I won't be disappointed. I doubt that I shall be. ;-) Hey! Did you see the piece that Jarret Keene did on Battle Born in last weeks Seven magazine? Click here to read it if you haven't already. It's a pretty good piece on a hard working band that definitely deserves it. And like it says at the end of that write up, there is a little bit of a 4th of July shindig going down there on Weds., and you're all invited. BBQ, Beer, Bands, and they're gonna be filming a promo video too, so get your ass down there and have some fun and get drunk and blow stuff up. The view of the strip from there is pretty sweet, so you can watch those fireworks too if you're sober enough to remember to... heh heh heh hahaha OK, just one last thing from the emails before I go. Apparently, a few weeks ago the L.A. Times posted a fluff piece by some dooshbags about the 20 Greatest L.A. Punk Rock Albums of All Time (click here to read it for yourself), and their choices were more than a bit baffling, to say the least, and just as a point of reference, I jotted down their Top 20 list and then made one of my own, and here's what I came up with. Took me all of 10 minutes to do so. I think my choices are pretty good. Of course, I'm nothing but a Homophobic, Bitter Old Poseur, so take anything I say with a huge grain of salt, because what do I know, right? ;-)
So yeah, if you ignore the fact that the L.A. Times list has bands from Orange County on their list, and a few compilations from bands that were comprised of singles and live tracks, and a couple that weren't even albums, then I guess it's a good list! LOL Honorable mentions go to Slayer - Reign In Blood, Red Kross - Born Innocent, 45 Grave - Sleep In Safety, Cryptic Slaughter - Convicted, Minutemen - Double Nickels On The Dime, Christian Death - Only Theater Of Pain and everything the Screamers never recorded. :-) I can't wait to do another list for the Top 20 L.A. Punk Rock Singles of All Time - now THAT would be fun!! :-)
Everything is updated - the Peter Murphy gig is happening at the LVCS and not the Beauty Bar as I falsely reported last Friday, all sorts of shit is getting added all the time, so keep coming back. And if I don't post anything tomorrow, I'll wish you all a Happy 4th of July now! Try not to blow any appendages off it at all possible! ;-) Those of you who really know me know that if I had something to say I totally would, either on here or in person, right in your face. I've never been one to avoid confrontation, and I'll be damned if I'm gonna start now. I'm no Internet coward. I don't hide behind fake Facebook profiles. Ask around and you'll find me. Others have before, and they always will. I'm easily accessible! LOL If you really, really wanted to, you could find me, but you won't, because you're all just a bunch of chickenshit pussies with no Honor or Merit. Spineless. It really bothers you that I don't give you the attention you are obviously fishing for, doesn't it? ha ha ha Move on little Poseurs - I got better shit to do. I'm flattered that you spend so much time dwelling on what I'm up to. It's super cute! :-) Hey! Did you see this? The new video from The Dirty Panties? It's for a song called Get Off Your Ass and it's from their just released CD called I Am A Robot. Pretty cool stuff. Yeah, I haven't been doing much as of late, just working on catching up with stuff on the website and adding some old content from 2010 I found on a CD. Oh, I added up the photos I took in Colorado up, and you can click here to check those out. I also added the pix from the Lion's Lair that Bob and I took while we were up there, and you can click here to check those out. Probably only interesting if you were there or know about the trip but whatever. Oh, and I added the Music Review on the latest from Battle Born, for a CD they're calling Gadget Rangers Of Deth, and you can click here to read all about that. Yeah, Bohemian Summer continues on unabated, Haters be damned. I think I'm gonna go find a pool to swim in.
