Yesterday was not a good day to be a Bay area sports fan. After watching the Raiders lose to the 49er's (UGH!!) and reading about the Sharks losing to Atlanta the night before (WTF??), I decided to give up on sports for the moment and focus on Punk Rock, ignoring the throbbing, misshapen thing that used to be my knee, and popping a few more Lori's to get me through the rest of the day. Wasn't the rain yesterday awesome?? <3
So yeah, Sat. nights gig @ the LVCS was THE BEST!! Zeke just fucked shit up left and right, spraying out an onslaught that was just terrifying in it's musical brutality and stunning in it's delivery, with every song being played in rapid fire succession with no room to breathe in between. It was truly astonishing to witness, and if you weren't there, then, nevermind. You're an idiot and not worth the effort. I missed 1/2 Ast but got there in time to see Pigasus blow the doors off the place, which was pretty cool. They were playing FAST!! WTF?? hahahaha And I got to check out the 7 Outs, who were pretty good. Dirk & Turbo from the Vermin are in the band, as well as some Singer who apparently doesn't pay taxes or something... heh heh They also had the Happiest Bassist In The World playing for them. He was cool to watch. And with their really old school punk rock sound (they reminded me of Chelsea or the Damned, for some reason) I'm looking forward to seeing what becomes of them and what they do musically. Check them out if you haven't already - they're pretty good. Mind blowing night @ the LVCS, much needed and deeply appreciated. Thank you Roxie! XOXO Glad to see so many of my friends in attendance. It's always good when we gather on Fremont Street to partake in some yummy Punk Rock goodness. And how sick is that zip line ride running down Fremont St. going to be, huh? Yeah, can't wait to ride that sucka... Before I made the trek down to Fremont St., Jeremy and I were at that Roller derby thing that was happening @ the Riviera. Pretty cool stuff. Watching crazy chicks on roller skates constantly turning left while wearing tights is always a fun way to spend the evening. For those of you keeping score, the Tommy Gun Terrors beat the Hoover Damned by a really large margin. They were given quite a good spanking, well, at least in my mind anyways. ;-) Rollerderby has sure come a long way. I don't know if that's a good thing or not. It was also Jeremy's Birthday that night, with lots of booze imbibed and a good time had by all, especially on the ride home... hahahaha Happy belated Birthday Jeremy, my heterosexual Life partner. XOXO I'm not even gonna talk about how much I hate that the 49er's got their first win of the season against the Raiders. Fucking shit balls. :-( If we had a quarterback, or we could learn how to tackle people, we would be dangerous. And I don't know what's going on with the Sharks. I am soooooooo not a Niemi fan yet. Since I have no car as of this moment, I'm pretty much housebound right now. Practice sessions for the upcoming Aluminum Falcon debut gig this Sat. @ LVCS has me focused, vigilant and determined to play one Hell of a set for all 3 people who will be there! LOL The songs are really good though. Reminds me a lot of Pulley, or Strung Out... I dunno. You tell me when you hear it. We've been working our asses off getting the music good, and I'm thinking people are gonna dig it. Hopefully. Anyways, as usual, everything is updated. All the Pictures from this year are up and in the new format. I'm happy that's over with. Now on to something else just as banal!
