So I'm standing outside The Dive with a few friends, both old and new, when a cab pulls up to the front door of the joint and some tattoo'd trash bimbo gets out and wobbles to the door, demanding that someone pay for the cab that just brought her there. While I'm laughing at the absolute gall on of this girl on display, she walks back to the cab and tells some guy in the back "It's OK now, let's go" and he struggles to get out of the cab and with the help of a cane and the girl, he also wobbles towards the venue. He looked frail and old, he looked sad and broken, he looked like the Artist Formerly Known As Duane Peters!! LOL After seeing that sobering spectacle of harsh Reality, I knew last night's U.S. Bombs / Reagan Youth gig was going to be as shitty as all gets. Seeing the Master Of Disaster looking like that just made me wanna retch. I'm over the whole 'cool junkie' thing. He's a fucking idiot. Didn't matter that Reagan Youth was on stage fucking up every song they attempted to play, sounding like shit and looking like the karaoke cash in clown act that they are. They sounded terrible. I wanted to leave. I said my goodbyes and left to get some tacos. Lean 13 played earlier, which is the reason why I was at The Dive in the first place, and we went over pretty well, at least according to everyone that was telling me that after we played. They didn't hear what I heard, and that's OK. We sold a lot of merch, and I ran out of the free demos I was giving away, so Thanx! to everyone and Up Da Punx! and all that rubbish. Even earlier than us Societies Infection played, and they're the latest new project of Bill from IDFI, and they were pretty good. Didn't really check them out too much, as I was hurriedly setting up my gear to cover for Three Rounds dropping off the bill - of course. Do those guys even play gigs, or do they just get off on seeing their name on the flyer with a "big name band"? hahahaha Bunch of lame-o's. Anyways, check out Societies Infection when you get the chance. They're an up and coming band trying to establish themselves here locally, and from the way they're playing every gig they can, I'm sure they're gonna be everybody's good friend in a real short while. Once Societies Infection finished up their set and got their stuff off the stage, I threw my gear up there, set up, and stumbled through another mistake filled set with Lean 13. Lack of practice and alcohol are a motherfucker. Dirk Vermin And The Hostile Talent played after us but I can't take them seriously. Do they play any original material? I recognized some Vermin and Naked City Romeos songs they played which sounded pretty good, but that was it. I was outside by my car smoking dope and listening to that atrocious embarrassment on stage calling itself Reagan Youth just do damage to a great band's legacy. That's when the cab pulled up...
