There's really only 3 reasons why I'm going to the third installment of the Life Is Shit festival tonight:
1) The annual appearance of Dangerboner, one of the most intense, incredible, ingenious bands to ever grace the tiny stage at The Dive. Their music is fantastic. Their stage show is the stuff of Legend.
2) In 2 words: Leather Lungs. One of Vegas' most criminally underrated bands ever, this fuzz loving, reverb soaked trio of real Rock 'N' Rollers have a new release out called Leather Lungs Are Humans Too, and they've posted a song from the album called Party Down on their Soundcloud page, and you can click here to check it out. It's a bit of a rager, and it reminds me a lot of The Mummies, both in Sound and in Spirit. They're the only reason why I am getting there early, to see Leather Lungs. They are definitely worth the effort.
3) Oh... I dunno. Cheap drinks? Checking out bands? Cool raffle prizes to be won? Something to do? All of the above? Yeah, click here to check out the event page on Facebook, with all the info on what's going on and what's being raffled off. It should be a fun evening with lots of cool peeps. Come out and rage. It'll be fun.
I would of loved to have listed the band Illicitor as the 3rd reason to go to the gig, but they're playing the Life Is Beautiful festival, as well as the Life Is Shit festival, and that's a bit hypocritical, to say the least, so fuck 'em. ;-) Remember when Guilty By Association did that? They played the Anti-Bar fest out in the desert to a bunch of dirty delusional underage Punx and then rushed back into town to play some raging 21 and over gig @ Boomer's, a bar? LOL Yeah, I don't remember stuff like that either. ;-)
