Damn grueling day last Saturday (03/15). We played 2 shows in one day, and it was a very revealing test of durability and stamina for the band, and especially for our new singer Keil. The first show in the afternoon had an 11 a.m. load in time, and although we were there on time, we were doing it really really slow, especially me and Pitt (both of us got NO SLEEP the night before). But the Jagermeister bottle Keil had on him helped. After sound check me and Jesse and Pitt hopped into my car and drove up and down Charleston looking for someplace that sold Newcastle's! The first 2 places didn't have any, but the third time was the charm for us, and with a trunk full of booze we headed off to find something to eat. It was Jesse's idea to go to Arby's... but we had no idea it was manned by the slowest, dumbest mother fucker ever to man a fast food counter. Absolute jackass. It took forever for me and Jesse to get our grub (Pitt just said fuck waiting and hadn't even ordered his food when Doofus Dumbutt finally gave us ours). Back to the Huntridge... passing by the people with "Vaginally" themed signs standing out on Charleston (Honk If You Love Vagina! was my favorite one.) We play the show (to about maybe 20 people?) and pack up and rush to the Skillet 'cuz of the impending threat of rain. We get there... and just sit. Just like you would if you were on tour. We talked... drank lots of coffee, soda, Rockstars and Red Bulls. Some of us tried to nap. Some of us tried to read. But then people started to show up. Lots of familiar faces, so it was a good vibe. It was cool that people made the effort to see the show. By now, all the caffeine was starting to kick in, so that helped out a lot. Played the second show (which was very fucking cool, by the way), packed up the gear and just hung out and checked out The Stitches (unfortunately, SOME of us had to just listen from the outside of the Skillet, as we had our own little dramatic play going on outside... Boooooo!) But from what I heard, they sounded good. And speaking of booooooo's, a big F - BOOOO!! to Rick and his little move of paying for The Stitches out of his own pocket to play the Double Down later that evening/morning. Shame on you dude. So anyways, after the bands were done, we headed back to the Clubhouse and toyed with the thought of going to the Double Down and actually checking out The Stitches, but instead we just sat around and did absolutely fuck all (Although Senor Pitt did go down to the Double Down later to check the band out). We ate Krispy Kremes... compared our injuries from the days activities and just relaxed. It was very cool. It was a band bonding moment... sniff sniff... and it was just too bad that Senor Keil wasn't even there. Oh well. I've rambled on long enough. Now I gotta craving for some MORE Krispy Kremes... they're soooo good!
