Sick Fish Belly Up - Clawhammer

It was probably my most surreal political moment ever in my existence on this planet.

I'm at an Aluminum Falcon band practice on the day of the election, with the TV set bouncing back and forth between CNN and FOX news, to attain the different perspectives and biases and prejudices that both sides were eschewing, and we're running through a couple of new tunes and all of us are transfixed to the boob tube's glow, which is feeding us stats about electoral votes and poll projections and other asinine things that, just a few hours ago, I could of cared less about. All sides of the spectrum were represented in the house, with Tyson being a Democrat, Jeremy a Republican, and me an indifferent, apathetic lazy blob . Their political vocal interactions were hot and heated, with their viewpoints and points of interest being debated loudly in between songs while the stats for what was going on with the election were scrawling slowly along the bottom of the TV screen. We would literally be in the middle of running through a tune and all six of our eyes were glued to the TV, watching Obama's electoral vote tally climb higher and higher towards his eventual victory. Everytime all 3 of us were staring at the screen seemed surreal to me, with the contrast of playing fast, obnoxious Punk Rock music, which is generally associated with Rebellion and Dissent and whatnot. While the results didn't directly affect me, and I never got dragged into any of that 'If you support this candidate or political group, I'm going to de-friend you on Facebook' bullshit that was going on, I felt that I, in a small way, took part in a political event, albeit small in nature but huge in emotional involvement and beliefs. One went home Happy, the other, not so Happy... LOL My Friends. You gotta Love them. :-)

I fucking HATE that there's no Hockey this year -- GO WRANGLERS!! -- hahaha I'm having too much fun. Hope you are too.
