hahahaha This has got to be one of the best ever conversations I've ever been a part of in my entire Life, and it went down last night at the $wingin' Utter$ gig @ the Beauty Bar. It went something like this: Hey Gilbert! What's up? How have you been? It's good to see you! It's good to see you too! How have you been? What's going on? Everybody here is talking about you. Everywhere I go I hear your name being thrown around. Oh yeah? LOL What are they saying? Everybody here hates you. They're all talking shit about you, and I don't know why... hahahahahahahahahahaha Seriously, that shit just made my year. You would think people would have something better to do, but apparently not. Apparently, the fucking amazing set from the $wingin' Utter$ couldn't keep a bunch of people I couldn't give 2 shits about from saying bad things about me, people that I spend about zero to none of an amount of time on being concerned with what they're doing, who they're with, or what they're up to, just standing around saying things... things they wouldn't dare say to me in person, of course, but on the Internet? Behind my back to my Friends? Oh sure. And all this gossip and mud slinging was going on while the $wingin' Utter$ were raging full on in the background. And all that, is fucking priceless. Nice to know I'm such a force to be reckoned with in this town... LOL Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh... the $wingin' Utter$ - gawd how I love this band! They were soooooooooo fucking good! Way better than the last time I saw them @ the Bunkhouse a while back. It was the last day of their Tour and they sounded great because of it. Playing fast and tight, jumping around and looking like they were having a lot of fun, the band put on quite a display of musicianship, playing an amazing set of tunes that pretty much covered every aspect of their legendary career, from their first year of existence 1992 (Scared) all the way to something off of their latest album, Poorly Formed, which came out earlier this year (The Librarians Are Hiding Something), the $wingin' Utter$ performance was beyond top notch. I don't know why they can't draw more than a handful of people when they play here in town, because it seems that everybody I know claims to be a $wingin' Utter$ fan, but I never see them at the gigs when the band comes to town. Whatever. Yeah, the turnout for the gig yesterday was piss poor. Gotta love Vegas, right? LOL The Civilians opened up - why, I don't know? We played pretty good, and I was throwing up the entire set. Trueland gave me an introduction of sorts during one song, and I flipped off the crowd the entire time he did it. Somebody shouted out 'Fuck You Gilbert!', which was exactly the response I was looking for - Thanx whoever you were! ;-) Despite playing first, while people were walking in, they seemed to really dig us, and that was rad. Vegascendents played right afterwords and after going outside and finishing up puking, I went back inside and I think played a good set. It was Paolo's first hometown gig with the Vegascendents, and I think he did good, although, as usual, I can never hear anything back behind the kit. I heard lots of applause after each song though, so that's a good thing - right? LOL I didn't stick around to see Spotted Dick, because I was feeling sick again and stumbled off with Anne and Bob to the El Cortez for some grub, and by the time we got back the $wingin' Utter$ were just beginning. I saw N.J. Pete and Cassie sitting at the bar, and Pete told me they were on their 2nd song, London Drunk, so I didn't miss much. They sounded great. Brand New Lungs, As You Start Leaving, Pills & Smoke, 5 Lessons Learned, which was started out waaaaaaaaayyyy too fast, but was followed perfectly by Glad. I was swooning and singing along loud and proud! :-) It was such a fun gig to be at. Thanks to everyone for hanging out with me, and talking bad about me to my Friends - you knew they were going to tell me every single word you said, right? hahahaha Fucking 'tards. The $wingin' Utter$ ruled! Sucks to be you if you missed it! I really do owe these guys in Crazy Chief a word of apology for being so late in bringing this to everyone's attention, but I gave their debut release, a 7" piece of black vinyl called Angel Dust, a review a while back, and I've just been so busy and forgetful that it slipped my mind about posting it up. Sorry guys (and girl). Anyways, you can click here to read all about it. It's very, "Bakla-ish"... hahaha Everything's updated. I, of course, have to get ready for band practice. Why? I don't know anymore... hahaha There's a sick ass house party going down tomorrow on the East side of town featuring See You In Hell, a band from the Czech Republic, fer Christ's sake - don't miss out on this shit! It's gonna be a rager! I'd go but, of course, I can't, because I have band practice. Booooooooo...
